Posie Parker is just in make-up and about to go up against Mr Harrop. Please tune in and send her lots of good vibes!

One thing though on any interview I've seen is that it is rarely said that trans women have penises. I think most assume the men have transitioned.

Also that trans girls/women might be females transitioning to men.

I think a lot of people in real life think this. They have only had the emotional heart-string tugging glossy stuff that has been churned out by Trans organisations PR and not proper information.

There has been no proper information from any government source, even when Theresa may announced that she was going to change the law.

There is no proper information around the existing law. People do not realise how much it already covers.

Even organisations like Girl Guiding do not seem to understand the law as it stands.

I've just watched by scrolling back through live feed. You need to go back about half an hour (at the moment)

LangCleg · 26/09/2018 17:25

Sorry, but to Joe Public they will both have sounded silly.

I don't think so. Look at the comments under the Sky News tweet. Aside from the actual transphobia (which Adrian will obviously ignore because it's coming from men) - it's wall-to-wall saying well, duh, obviously the woman is right.

Posie speaks directly to people who have no idea what is going on, saying stuff that seems like common sense to people who have no idea what is going on. People understand what she is saying immediately. No effort required.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/09/2018 17:25

The YouTube clip should be going back up, Farrow forgot to add the sound to it Grin

WokerThanWoke · 26/09/2018 17:26

Often when it's man v woman on a debate and they talk at the same time you can only hear the man, but on that Sky News clip Posie's voice cut through. When she was speaking I could barely make out what he was saying when he then spoke at the same time.

CottonTailRabbit · 26/09/2018 17:26

Yes, on any mainstream media it needs stating that a transwoman is a man who identifies as a woman even if he retains a fully male body and most do retain their male genitalia.

TimIsHavingABadDay · 26/09/2018 17:27

That interview was great. I loved how unflappable she came across while he seemed a bit odd to say the least. Replies on twitter are positive too.

AbsintheFriends · 26/09/2018 17:27

The thing I take away from it is that Harrop is like a weird cartoon creation - a caricature of a thwarted little man, thoroughly out of his depth.

Protesting about women appropriating the word woman was a stunning piece of PR failure. Legendary.

Posie was excellent! 'I am deliberately truthful.' Yes!

LangCleg · 26/09/2018 17:28

in between tweet-like statements

I just looked at his Twatter and he had already tweeted exactly the same couple of sentences he used at the beginning of the interview, so he had clearly been practising.

Needs more work, Adrian, needs more work!

littlbrowndog · 26/09/2018 17:28

Yeps exactly Lang and woker
He was like mouthing in background

Gawd she was good

TuttoNero · 26/09/2018 17:28

In the words of Malcolm Tucker, Harrop looks like he gels his hair by sticking his head up a cows front hole vagina

TwistedStitch · 26/09/2018 17:29

Harrop is being savaged on twitter. I think he genuinely thought that his is the mainstream view outside of a few 'non compliant' women. But nobody is buying it- he's managed to inadvertently peak a whole number of people who would have had no clue about this issue had he not complained.

AspieAndProud · 26/09/2018 17:29

'Appropriating the word woman' should go viral.

He deserves to live out his career as the butt of a meme that nobody can remember where it came from.

He should be stopped in the street by people telling him he looks ''like that guy in the 'appropriating the word woman' skit''

Minerva1234 · 26/09/2018 17:30

I actually thought Posie was wise to keep the focus squarely on the definition of woman, rather than trying to shoehorn in lots of other different aspects of the debate. She came across as strong.

Melamin · 26/09/2018 17:30

A woman is anyone who identifies as a woman. Well, that will have peaked a few people even with all the petty bickering with their names.

Especially when he admitted it did not work in practice, even for him Grin

YearOfYouRemember · 26/09/2018 17:31

Is that his real name ?HmmHmm

OvaHere · 26/09/2018 17:32

I love the whole women appropriating the word women.

I can feel a new tshirt in the works for Posie's website.

FloralBunting · 26/09/2018 17:33

I haven't got the video, but I did get a screen shot of him.

Outside a tiny bubble of wokeazoids, nobody believes TWAW. The difference between people is that they have varying degrees of opinion about how accommodating society should be to the "sad menz". The comments under that Sky News tweet are indicative of public opinion - a range of outright transphobia from scornful men to well obviously they're not women but I suppose we should try and be nice to them.

Wokeazoids + GC feminists =

NameChangedAgain18 · 26/09/2018 17:34

In the last 24 hours, Harrop has done more for gender critical feminism than most of us could even dream of doing ourselves.

Melamin · 26/09/2018 17:34

'Appropriating the word woman' should go viral.

It is the narcissistic mirroring thing, isn't it Smile

ToeToToe · 26/09/2018 17:35

Ugh Ugh Ugh - I just heard Harrop's voice. Ugh. he moves his lips too much and talks.. very.. slowly.. because.. we're.. all.. stupid.. and.. he's..so.. clever.

"Posie.. it's.. not.. about.. that.."

Dork.

"Appropriating the word woman", though - the vast, monumental, eye-watering IRONY of it.
