Not a major news site but its made it on to an industry site. Nothing new but at least its getting out there. Pity they didn't show a picture of the actual billboard so people could see how ridiculous its removal was

Ocado have been contacted by a TRA and told this was a transphobic poster. They have said they contacted Primesight, who confirmed it was a hate group, and they'll continue to do business with them.

They've also responded to a GC tweeter with the same message.

I will of course remind everyone that ocado's CEO attended the Presidents Club do, and took his time in saying how "shocked" he was to hear it was a sleazy men only event

According to that article, PrimeSight were recently bought by Global, which also owns Capital and BBC radio. Anyone want to refer it further up the chain? Or perhaps that's revealing as to Mr Ferrari's position earlier this week...

I'm always a bit skeptical of calls for litigation, but this is calling out for cease and desist letters for slander/libel depending on how these foolish companies are disseminating and acting on defamatory material.

They've taken my email address and will pass on my comments but they are making no further comment on the billboard removal.

After much tennis they said " HOW many times do you have to be told? transwomen are women" and I replied " Do they have the required organs to menstruate?". Bam. Blocked. She has expressed this opinion here on mumsnet in the past, more than once, and stood by it when challenged. She was very clear that she believes trans people, not just trans men should not be parents either before during or after transition.

This is one of the many reasons that her motivation is viewed as transphobic.

So they are standing by their comment and subsequent actions that imply the poster was put up by a 'hate group' and endorsing the position in the tweets from Harrop et al?

Around the same time I had allowed my temper to get the better of me and tweet an off the cuff comment to a trans activist on the day of the Irish abortion result. The activist was one of many talking about abortion being a cis privilege and exclusionary for transwomen and transmen. "Women who think they're men should be sterilised" I think this was an aggressive, but in context, tweet. As I, obviously, don't support eugenics or forced sterilisation I didn't anticipate it would be used to suggest I held these views. I understand that there are some extreme sensitivities around the suggestion of sterilisation and I had not intended to flare up any of those. I guess I was pretty stupid to think these words would not be taken as read or, worse, even more weight to be put upon them. I believe in a woman's complete autonomy over her reproduction.

Ocado is a customer of Primesight.
A TRA contacted them about the poster, suggesting they ask Primesight why they had given space to a transphobic hate group.
They duly did so, got the statement back from Primesight repeating the claims and said they would still use them.

So...... Ocado and Primesight now apparently agree that the dictionary definition of the word woman on a billboard is hate speech?

Many other grocery delivery services are available. Fortunately.

In future I'll be choosing one that understands that a) 'adult human female' is not transphobic hate speech and b) 'adult human females' make up a majority of their customer base.

Funny how damn fast they take down boards and agree with Dr Baby isn't it? How long did it take - and how many complaints - about the 'beach ready body' ads before they came down?
