First thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3331514-anti-trans-vandals-are-plastering-vile-women-don-t-have-penises-stickers-around-london

I'm optimistic this will spill over to most of the MSM soon, and keep on being a snowball, gathering momentum and mass, as it rolls down the snowy mountain of bullshit forced upon us all.

So here is thread 2, ready & waiting for the speed to pick up.

So what happens re stuff like this? Does it get reported on twitter? Or do we all call 101 for hate crime?

Maryzsnewaccount · 25/08/2018 22:13

I suspect it isn't a hate crime, Carrots.

He's just doing a delicate lady-poo, obviously. In a brave and stunning way.

PositivelyPERF · 25/08/2018 22:14

I knew that sticker reminded me of something.

Like this.

FloralBunting · 25/08/2018 22:20

I'm also not really sure what he thinks he's achieving, apart from a bowel evacuation. He'll have confused and possibly intimidated other toilet users, and shown clearly that men who despise female boundaries like to flout them using TRA buzzwords as cover, which is exactly the GC argument.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 25/08/2018 23:11

Was only joking about the hate crime- Wink not joking about the implications for this weirdos future though!

When the occupation of Hunger Artist is past its prime, the pomo thought leaders adapt to survive?

AngryAttackKittens wrote: a lot of men will be looking at the pink one and wondering what the clitoris in it is.

The more scientific ones will be stating that they know perfectly well what it is and where it is. However, as a wise woman once commented, making a helpful analogy to understanding the Periodic Table: there’s no point rote-learning the location of the different elements if you don’t know what they do.

Given this general lack of understanding, I'd say it's credible that some people genuinely don't understand the difference between female anatomy and contrived simulacra.

Nice links !

And a link within the link gives you this

www.crispian.net/PTIR/Nonsense.html

I still can't find my glasses. They have been nicked by the same pixies who stole my phone and hid it cunningly somewhere in the house. So I can't be 100% sure. But It looks like it's missing one element starting with T. Time for an update.

Was most pleased yesterday to come across the Quackometer again, on twitter, when I was specifically following # about stickerwoman. I have a big soft sport for him. He gently coaxed me out from the thrall of the anti-vaxxers more than a decade ago, and is personally responsible for one young Italian going from unvaxxed to completely vaxxed.

He is taking what looks like a fairly lone stance in ye olde Skeptical Online World, that Ben Goldacre's previous popularity created. He seems to be in a minority (from that old stomping ground) willing to state that TRA ideology should be the snakeoil bread and butter of the established skeptic community.

But they have in large part gone scared rabbit in the headlights instead. Choosing to continue to swim almost exclusively in the shallow waters of the now hugely debunked alt-med industry. With a chosen blind spot for newer fashionable pseudoscience that risks being make into legislated silencing for all skeptics.

That's just one tweet. His whole timeline is worth a visit.

I'm sure Andy would be utterly delighted to learn that!

I did tell him, on his forum I think, possibly by email. But it was more than a decade ago.

When I saw him in my search related to this matter, I almost caved and broke my No More Twitter Ever promise to DH & DS just to thank him again though.

Andy took this stance after serious consideration earlier this year, I believe. He tweeted about taking some time to think about it, then came out full on. He was one of the earlier men that I can think of to come out as GC.

Proving I have exceptional taste in men. Not necessarily when marrying them (husband 1.0 being an ex and all). But deffo when choosing who to listen to when between a rock and hard place.

I saw that Graham Linehan (or somebody close to him) was posting on his appreciation thread. I've thanked Andy there, asking Graham to pass it along.

Because it must feel like banging your head against brick wall most days. And he deserves to hear of the success he has had, in making a real difference in people's lives, to help with when he feels "why am I putting myself through all this shit ?"

The fucking Humanists are at it now? Every fucking day is a further descent into Hell with this bollocks.

Cos I am of the Blue Peter Generation.

Here's one I made earlier.

Sadly no sticky back plastic in the digital age.

I'm going to start needing a gin before I read mumsnet (ponders....)

Ponders whether the pondering is about a micro-distillery for special About to Read FWR Gin. If so, the bottle labels for the varieties are sorted...

It does make laugh to see that so-called skeptics and humanists have swallowed the trans kool aid. So much for superior powers of rational thought.

arranfan · 27/08/2018 09:26

so-called skeptics and humanists have swallowed the trans kool aid. So much for superior powers of rational thought.

So many of the self-apotheosised leading skeptics and such are male. If it doesn't impact them, they're fine with thought experiments or liberalisations that take spaces and rights away from others. Look at the treatment of the women who had the nerve to complain in Gamergate or what happened to Rebecca Watson when she spoke out about sexism in skepticism.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/08/2018 09:28

My perception is that those organisations tend to be disproportionately male.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/08/2018 09:29

That Rebecca Watson artcle is horrifying.

Just bumping the other thread about pushing the #stickerwoman work for the next 7 weeks (titles something about santa). Obviously I won't be joining in with such tomfoolery because flyposting is very very wrong, so I will just go for a nice walk round town this week to go on the lookout for anyone else's good work.
