I had an interesting discussion with a MRA woman today

This woman did not identify as a MRA, she is very content to disregard the rights, privacy, safety and dignity of women to please men.

I was offered a woman only deal on gym membership. I asked if it was biological woman only, she was delighted with herself and said we include all genders of women. She was shocked that I would not find this fantastic news. She refused to accept single sex exemptions in the EA 2010 existed or that you can't ask for a GRC, she was under the impression all Transwomen have had an operation to remove the penis and talked over me when I explained facts, she did not want to know.

I find it interesting that women will just shut down, its like talking to someone who has been a hypnotised or is disassoiated.

Our message is not getting through.

How can we get the truth out there?

She isn't an MRA she is ignorant about transgenderism. And probably not thought much aboutique feminism, and considers herself a nice person. Much like many of us on here at one time or another

I agree she was probably not an MRA, just seeped in wokeness and ignorant about the trans movement.

If you'd asked her whether all women only sports and changing areas should be abolished in favour of unisex, she may have had a "feminist" pov.

The more you come across people like this the easier it gets, you can condense your point into soundbites.

Suggest a letter to the manager explaining why you won't be taking out membership? I believe that a number of companies are struggling with membership and is some financial trouble so they need to know what's putting women off.

That is the kind of response I've had from my female work colleagues. Cut me off, don't want to hear me out, I'm the one who's intolerant. And these are (what I thought were) intelligent, fair and decent people.

You have to give them enough to go away and think about. They won't admit anything then and there, even to themselves. A few questions on 'so how will I know if someone who looks like a man in the shower, is a man or a woman' or 'how do you stop men pretending to be women to get in the shower' and they bluster and smile but think about it afterwards.

if it's new, it's so bonkers, coming from someone you've never met, you might just think they were bonkers and wrong about facts.

I've seen posters on here saying that they didn't understand what transgender meant and for a long time thought people were being very bizarre.

The actions of trans people are affecting women right now. This isn't some hypothetical loss of women's rights that might happen in the future, its already happening.
No one here is discriminating against trans people by fighting for women's rights. That's not how rights work.

We need to be gardeners. Plant little seeds here and there. It's very possible that she is mulling over what you said, perhaps even looking up information to see if it's true that most transwomen retain their male genitalia. If we are effective in our conversations, we might just see these little seeds sprouting and growing into a lovely fields of, oh, perhaps grass...otherwise known as, um, turf.
