Dhalandchips we all know people like that. We’re not concerned about them (well we are concerned about how damaging to them campaigning by the likes of ATH is). We’re concerned about the likes of Jess from ATH who retain their penis and want to access female spaces. We’re concerned about Stonewall making no distinction between Jess and the transwomen you know.

Dhal - I think many of us know transwomen like that, and have done for years, and have never had a problem with them. What's caused a lot of us to stop and go "hang on a minute" is the discovery that old fashioned transsexuals (many transwomen of the sort you describe are now "reclaiming" that word) are in the minority, and the people making the noise are the trans-identifying "like my penis very much, thank you, but you must call it a lady-dick" variety.

If you read the Jess Bradley threads you'll get a sense of what this new group are like - they're the ones trolling lesbians by insisting that if they don't have sex with "lady-dicks" they're transphobic. Or issuing charming tweets on International women's day inviting gender critical feminists to "suck their dick."

Most male people who now identify as transwomen still have all their "maleness" fully intact, including their penises.

Such a pointless exercise to be putting up these stickers that PN and other TRA types are compelled to say how empty the sticker ninja's lives must be.

The sticker ninjas would be much better served doing womanly, submissive things, instead of stealth direct action that harms no one and highlights an absurd and potentially dangerous lie.

My logical brain says "they're men who have had bits lopped off and other bits added" but my emotional part says they've come through something traumatic with bravery and a sense of humour

They can be both. We can respect the struggle of transsexual people, acknowledge their suffering and admire their determination whilst also knowing that they are still men.

If I wanted a sticker like that I might ask Julia if she knows someone who knows someone.

I think there are a number of marvellous groups producing stickers and leaflets - if anyone knows of them could you put links here this thread has reminded me that I need to assist the campaign to raise awareness about the proposed changes to law about self-id that will have a massive impact on women's rights. Not least because the consultation about the proposed changes closes in October.

I agree that men do not have penises. Women have XX chromosomes, men have XY chromosomes. Sex cannot be changed simply by wishful thinking.

And it is not literal violence to suggest that Pam in Gavin and Stacey was not a vegetarian even though she identified as one when Stacey's family visited. .

As long as people are careful not to be seen putting the stickers up. (shouldn't be too difficult).

They try to stop the meetings, but it's good to see that women who want to speak, will NOT be silenced and threatened by these bullies.

I would argue that flashing one's actual phallus in public like a famous TRA was a shade more 'disgusting' than a willy-shaped sticker.

Yet they are strangely quiet on that one.

Despite it being PN, the fabulous quote at the end of the article swipes away any of the hissy fitting earlier on. No one reading it surely would miss the 'phallacy' of the objection to this simple true statement.
