I was reading through Huda Elmi's, one of the JC9's blog today and her accompanying tweets. I can't link to it, as a new user.

She says in a tweet that the vast majority of feminists don't wish to exclude trans or erode their rights. Her implication is, I think that that the vast majority of feminists are cool with the impending GRA,

I'm going to be honest and say, I don't know the difference between a radical feminist and a common, all garden feminist. As far as I know, I am in the latter camp and don't see myself as being especially radical but I am not happy about the GRA.

Anyway the question I really want to ask is, is it true that the vast majority of feminists don't have concerns about the GRA? I am assuming, from her tweet that she means that if you aren't happy about the GRA, it then you must desire the erosion of trans rights? I was just wondering if there is any evidence that as a feminist, I am in the minority with my beliefs.

On the other hand Paton & Byrne's "Tunnocks" tea cake recipe which I have adapted for "Tunnock's" snowballs are both a huge amount of effort but are spectacular.

I disagree. If it is not a political movement for the liberation of women it is not Feminism. It may be a women's rights movement, but Feminism had a definition long before the boys of the backlash changed it to equality for all men.

If you think there are no issues with the inclusion of transwomen or the ,movement as a whole then look at these areas

1. Transwomen in sport - everybody can see that it's blatantly unfair that male bodied people compete against female bodied people.
2. Transing of children - puberty blockers are untested and DO NOT relieve gender dysphoria according to latest systematic review of all available evidence. Also ROGD. Why are so many young lesbians suddenly 'coming out' as trans.
3. Hounding of women and the Terf slur. Bomb threats send to women meeting to discuss law changes which would remove their rights - there is no justification for this
4. Cotton ceiling and lesbians forced to accept male (fully penised) trans women as sexual partners for fear of being labeled a terf and exuded from gay community. There is a word for this. It's called corrective rape.
5. Transwomen in prisons. Pre-transition rapists are transferred onto the female estate and then sexually assault women. Ditto women's refuges and rape crisis centers
6. If transwomen are women why do they have such a prominent role in the public face of the movement while the transmen are totally invisible. Seriously where are the transmen? It looks a lot like trans-women retain their male privilege. If a woman got her cock out at work and posted it on the internet would she be treated the same way. I can barely type that sentence because it is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS
7. Why does the movement want to remove safegaurds that protect women and children. Don't you think it's wierd that the head of the 'charity' which is lobbying the government to allow males into female spaces has (allegedly) been posting messages on their blog (which celebrates exhibitionism) encouraging men to get their dicks out in public toilets and wank.

Those are all areas which there are NO JUSTIFIABLE solutions to. Anybody can see these are all massively problematic. It's late there are probably more.
