Sad to read this news, I first came across Jean when she set up the fundraiser for the Woman in the Welsh football player rape case. I gladly donated and it prompted me to donate when some women wanted to send a message about the NI alleged rugby rapists by taking out an ad in the Belfast Telegraph.
She will continue to inspire me

I too donated to the victim of the Welsh footballer.

It was shocking to see what she went through - two court cases - yet the rhetoric seemed to be "he's had his life ruined"

Last I heard, he had re-joined his football club, had a baby with a gf who stood by him, regular cutesy headlines in the tabloids. Hardly a life ruined.

Whereas she has had to leave her home, her friends, has been outed, threatened, publicly vilified, and left the country.

Jean - you stopped that man re-joining Sheffield when he was first released, you raised money for his victim, and you raise money for vulnerable women everywhere. I applaud you, and I wish you the very best, and the very best news.

Jean, I'm so sorry to hear this, wishing you all the best going forward. The work you've done and will do for women is amazing.

For those that don't know, Jean was absolutely central to the Truro 'Let a Woman Speak' event carrying on. If you haven't seen her speech on YouTube I'd recommend it. Her passionate, committed activism for women shines through, bloody brilliant woman that she is.

Hi Jean. I just wanted to say i am thinking of you. Obviously you don't know me but I follow you a lot and I wish you strength and luck to get through this.

As a result of your news, I have recently been to my doctor with symptoms of ovarian cancer and am awaiting results of blood tests and am being sent for a scan.

I know it probably doesn't mean much but I just wanted to thank you for sharing your news as it promoted me to get myself checked. I'm absolutely terrified and I have a terrible gut feeling and in a way I wish I was still blissfully unaware.

Take care Jean. I think you are a wonderful person doing what you do and if I do get the news I am expecting I hope to be able to face it with a tenth of the courage you have.

Take a good hard look at yourself @Livia9 if you're at the point where you wish someone else dead. You have some serious problems going on.

Don't know what Livia said, but it appears to have been mean. In line with my usual policy, I've donated to Jean's crowdfunder in honour of Livia, as I do on behalf of all extremist anti-woman activists who come onto MN and attack women who are raising money to help other women.
