Re empathy gene, some of you will hate me for saying this but I can't cope with the elderly parents any more. My sister does nothing because she doesn't care. I want to be like that. My empathy is turning into rage actually. There's definitely such a thing as living too long. They took every damn med there is to delay death and it works. What is the point?! To cause suffering to everyone else till you're 103?

Today I finally confided in a friend and she said "oh don't feel bad, loads of people feel the way you do". Maybe I'll start a support group. Where the fuck is the end anonymous.

I don't even understand why anyone wants to live that long but my generation was not blessed with those house prices and pensions.

I'm not resentful of my sibling at all. I wish I had the good sense to follow her path when she said no to any help at all. Stupid me, I thought she was cruel. Now I know she was preserving sanity. And I guarantee she's not drinking tonight because she has no need to.
