Let's meet up - find/start gender critical feminist groups

There have been a couple of threads recently about finding/starting local gender critical feminist groups in real life, see here and here.

How about we just do it!

If you feel comfortable doing so, please post your nearest large town/city and we can then contact each other by pm (after due diligence with an advanced search) and talk to each other at a local level, and then organise for groups to meet up in real life.

I'll start. I'm in the far north of Scotland so don't really expect anyone very close to me, but would love to find anyone who could meet up in Inverness.

I also know of groups who meet up in Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh who I would be willing to pass on your details to.

Many of us are quite rightly cautious of being out in public on this issue, but are simultaneously desperate to find like-minded women. If anyone has any better ideas for us connecting in real life, please post.

@errolthedragon Thanks very much for that. Very helpful. Smile

Newcastle/ Durham for me. Gc, but fairly new to being a feminist. Could do with some peers tbh.

If you're in or near Huddersfield we're on twitter @femsrad Smile

Anyone in North East England or North Cumbria - please email us at [email protected]

Look forward to hearing from youse!

We're currently planning a public meeting in Newcastle on June 13th - to discuss the response to the GRA Consultation if it's published by then. If not, there's plenty else to talk about!

Some of you Cumbrians might be interested in this meeting in Lancaster :

There is a London radical feminist group that meets regularly. They are on Meetup www.meetup.com/Radical-Feminist-Social-London/.

I also run a radical feminist social in Surrey. Please PM me if you would like to join.

I hope women will not be put off by the term radical. It doesn't mean extreme, it means 'root'. As in getting to the root of women's oppression which is because of our sex. We believe gender should be abolished. We also believe pornography and prostitution are harmful to women.

All women are welcome. Lesbians and straight women welcome, mothers, married, single: all welcome as long as you are radfem.

WineIsMyCarb · 10/04/2019 15:44

Definitely interested. How can we safeguard these meetings? Really would like to 'just' discuss these issues with likeminded women rather than head into a political standoff with anyone.

Joisanofthedales · 10/04/2019 15:47

Any groups in the region of Harlow or Chemsford in Essex?

cellibabies · 10/04/2019 15:53

Another one in Bucks. I don't post about this much but I'm concerned about it.

newmumwithquestions · 10/04/2019 16:21

Damn just saw the dates on earlier posts. I’ve pm’d a couple of you who posted on the early pages before noticing the dates.
If Hampshire peeps are still following this I’m not that far from Guildford - looked like there was some interest in that area - let me know if there’s something going on I can tag along to!

Hi,

I know I'm late to the party but was wondering if anyone could let me in on any gc meetings/groups in the Coventry area?

Long time lurker (I have an autistic daughter and have had to leave support groups because I didn't agree with what they were suggesting we tell dc about 'gender') but I am sick of not getting involved because of fear of what people will think.

thebluearsefly · 13/06/2019 00:53

Anyone in the West Midlands?

Contact me via PM to discuss joining our West Midlands Feminist Network.

TheBestNapIEverHad · 13/06/2019 19:52

Ooh I’ve just requested to join the london radfem meet up group.

I’m really fucking nervous, have never done anything like it before... but I am so sick of not having any like minded people to talk about feminist issues with in RL.

Hope they accept me 😬

TheBestNapIEverHad · 13/06/2019 19:53

I’m north london btw but can travel Grin
