Guess how I got suspended from the Labour Party?

Well, one of the weirdest days in my life concluded with me receiving a letter informing me of my immediate suspension from the Labour Party. They believe I may have breached the rules by subverting the intention of All Women Shortlists, Women’s Officers or minimum quotas for women. Unfortunately, this does mean that my political ambitions are on hold for a while. I shall of course be continuing to self-identify as a woman every Wednesday, as that is my gender identity...

I have to say a huge thanks to @namechangeah for all her help, guidance and, more importantly, proof-reading! I wouldn’t have gotten to this point without it. I’d also like to thank everyone for their support today. I hope this has helped a bit.

We're all told it's only an hour and a half a week so you can EASILY fit that in on a Weds.

All excellent points being raised here about how it is our biology that brings females together as we all share in the highs and lows of what it is to be female. Nationality, religion, class, wealth, through all of those differences we find common ground in our biology. What do females and transwomen actually share that transcends everything else?

Throughout this debate I don't think I've come across any Trans activists or allies who get this. They're so caught up in Identity politics they are blind to the obvious. And they claim to know better than anyone what a woman is! The irony.

I've even reading the MN posts on this issue from the sidelines completely unaware of the Self ID issue before then. Thanks for your action in doing this it's given me something to wave a red flag about on Facebook in the hope that similarly ignorant friends start to take an interest.

Gaahhhh.... David Lewis really hasn’t ‘abused’ or ‘misused’ anything at all. He has played exactly by the self-ID rules.
The Rules ARE THE PROBLEM, not him.
Self ID-ing is exactly and only that.
Clue’s in the name, outraged Labour Party people. DL’s motivations for self ID are completely irrelevant and unknowable by anyone else. Thats why self ID such a shit, dangerous idea especially when it puts men into women’s spaces, opportunities for representation etc etc. Like I don’t know, being a political party Women’s Officer.

In the real world everyone knows you don't have a female gender identity, because there aren't actually any men or fake trans women applying to be on Labour all women shortlists. It only happens in your bizarrely constructed world of transphobia.

You have however succeeded in doing two things:

1. You have prompted the Labour party to clarify that genuine trans women, with or without a GRC, are welcome to stand on AW shortlists.

1. You may have ended your career. Assuming you had one.

So not entirely a waste then.
