Harrop seems to spend most of his time harassing and insulting natal women whilst unquestionably supporting trans women. He is hiding behind his "medical expertise" and using it to shout women down.

It's both hilarious and terrifying!

2rebecca makes some great points - if he's only recently been in A+E he's probably got his GP Reg year to go and for all his sense of superiority doesn't realise what a tiny medical fish he is. And you've made me have a think - I am my real self on Twitter (not dressed in scrubs mind ) and say where I work etc - I maybe need to be a bit more careful. Helen Webberley, for all that I disagree with her, too, is so much more mature on SM. Actually it's a very perceptive summary. I think the arrogant group is more like 5% but like poison it's more noticeable than it has any right to be. I've alays been shocking at biology compared to the other sciences but I do think that good communication skills covers a multitude of sins....

"I hope you learned an unforgettable lesson" to a woman being sent death threats for daring to speak about women's rights. Getting them drummed out of their political party then starting on another woman who is merely scheduled to speak at a women's meeting. Disgusted at the Greens and everyone else going along with this witch hunt.

He's blocked me and I haven't tweeted anything for years. I only revived my twitter account a few weeks ago to keep up to date with Miranda Yardley, Women's Place, Transgendertrend etc etc. The 'block list' must be large and comprehensive and include anyone even following gender critical sources.

Same here, Rowley and I think I'm blocked because I follow Miranda. But it's baffling how someone thinks they can intuit the reason I follow anyone when I don't tweet myself. If I followed Donald Trump even (I don't, actually) it wouldn't be because I approved of him, it would be because I wanted to know what he was saying. As it happens, I do generally approve of Miranda, but that's rather by the bye.

Not al medics obvs but you will have seen the ‘types’ close up yourself as you trained. The earnest ones who really try, the very empathetic ones who struggle a bit with the academic side but if they stick at it will make great doctors because they have that ability to put people at ease. The ones who sail through everything and will always be fine, then those few (and it is a minority but god they stick out and dominate a class) who have full blown god complexes even as students - it is bizarre and rather unpleasant to see 18, 20,21 years olds acting so arrogantly to staff many years and thousands of patients their senior. I actually had to warn one student for verbally abusing one of our lab technicians.

Good interview vetting can filter some of them out, but my personal view is that that 5% or so are an active danger to patients and the medical profession as a whole.
