They said "Mumsnet you left us no choice"

I think you are supposed to hang your heads in shame Grin

spontaneous one of the reasons I've currently decided not to have children...I have no ability to be superwoman. So much is expected nice house, nice kids, nice career, nice date nights with a partner. Nice things take time and attention and I can't juggle all that.

(Sorry I'll stop derailing!)

spontaneousgiventime · 07/05/2018 16:07

saga lout Grin I've always planned on growing old disgracefully, so far I've stuck to it.

spontaneousgiventime · 07/05/2018 16:10

Greymisty I totally agree. When my children were small, I had no pressure to work as I mentioned and life was mainly centred around the family. Now, mums are expected to be superwomen, work, activities, mad social lives, housecleaners and launderers. It must be exhausting. I have huge respect for mums today.

Helen is trying to dig herself out of a hole

I've said Helen is behind that account for a couple of days and I still do believe it's her. The posting style was identical until it was pointed out then it changed. Also, when Helen is tweeting so is the other account. Helen thinks we were all born yesterday.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 16:18

Ah, the modern world, where people's conversations with their imaginary friends happen on Twitter.

spontaneousgiventime · 07/05/2018 16:21

AngryAttackKittens Too true. Personally the MN report account doesn't bother me one bit. They are showing people that their version of what is transphobia is ridiculous and unreasonable. More power to them I say.

Greymisty · 07/05/2018 16:24

spontaneous I'm just tired on everyone's behalf!

If it is Helen that'll be hilarious and embarrassing for her. Cringe. Any lingistic analysis experts on MN?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 16:28

My internet does stretch as far as the garden Grin

Not all the way to the end though...

Weezol · 07/05/2018 16:34

Queen Elizabeth I had a spy network that covered the known world, as did the Vatican. They both followed the same basic rule: if something can come back to bite you, either don't write it down, or if you must write it down, encode it and burn after reading.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 16:35

I am not burning my ipad

spontaneousgiventime · 07/05/2018 16:35

Rufustheyawningreindeer I twisted my ankle and couldn't weight bare over the weekend. I have been out most of the morning today though. My internet has quite a good reach too Grin

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 16:35

I may have taken that too literally

Weezol · 07/05/2018 16:36

I believe the same applies to the internet today.
(Sorry, hit post instead of preview)

spontaneousgiventime · 07/05/2018 16:37

Greymisty It's just madness. Still, it gives the poor love something to do.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 16:37

Your ipad is probably full of toxic elements so best not to burn it really.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 16:38

Note that by toxic elements I mean stuff like mercury, not nasty ladies saying mean things.

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 07/05/2018 16:38

I just will not accept that the rudeness on here is what puts people off. If rudeness put people of AIBU would be tumbleweed

They can't handle the truth. Spoken by educated, thoughtful, assertive women. There's very little rudeness.

Weezol · 07/05/2018 16:41

Oof, I've made an arse of communicating my point there...

Rufus you are a reindeer with fingers ffs, there's no way I'd be suggesting you do such a thing - I have no idea what other magic powers you have.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 16:42

I bet she has elves hidden somewhere in that garden.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 16:43

No elves Sad

Putting a pub shed down there so people may well see elves when they leave...

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 16:44

weezol

Oh the relief Grin

Even if she was OK with the kid potentially growing up to be gay the dad clearly wasn't.

SlowlyShrinking · 07/05/2018 16:52

Yy exactly AAK. I don’t get how parents can believe that their child being trans is innate, and simultaneously say ‘I prevented him from playing with the toys he liked’ or ‘I smacked him when he wore girl’s clothes’ (not suggesting that susie green smacked her son, that was an American parent of a transgirl)
