Only two days left to complete the Scottish consultation questionnaire. I have made a short video explaining why it's important to fill it in. Please watch and share as widely as possible. Don't leave this up to Scottish women. Use this opportunity to speak. Don't waste it.

Deadline 5pm Thursday 1st March

Done.

I'm infuriated by the way they even posed the questions. So they got a piece of my mind.

I hope everyone knows that you don't have to live in Scotland to complete the consultation.

And, if anyone runs out of time, just checking the boxes will count. Because they will be added up.

It's incredibly important because the government will look to the results of this and how Scotland deal with it, to formulate their own policy.

It's a real time, real way of making your voice count.

It's also quite cathartic to actually have a bloody say.

Well worth doing.

therealposieparker · 27/02/2018 14:51

Will do.

IfNot · 27/02/2018 15:05

Completed and bumping

SangriaInTheSun · 27/02/2018 15:10

I really want to make my voice heard, but tbh, the way the questions are worded is confusing me. Anyone feel like giving me an idiots guide?

When it asks if this should apply to people born in Scotland etc, what should you put if you disagree with it altogether?

DoctorW · 27/02/2018 15:43

SangriaInTheSun
Yes, the questions are worded as if its going to happen! Very annoying and confusing.

I said Scotland only - but said in comments I didn't think the law should be changed.

Thanks for filling it in x

Bump for the crowd that hasn’t completed it yet.

untoldstories · 27/02/2018 16:18

I am on it, I promise, I will get it in on time.

DorisDays · 27/02/2018 17:13

I have just filled this in - thanks for the reminder and for the factsheet, which I've passed on to others who were unaware that this was happening at all let alone the imminent deadline

Room101isWhereIUsedtoLive · 27/02/2018 17:22

I've already filled the Scottish Consultation in but also today I took the opportunity to fill in the LGBT survey for the NHS trust I work at (I am bisexual). I had a mini rant about biology and being female and the impact that has had on myself as an individual, as well as the wider consequences for those of our sex.

Room101isWhereIUsedtoLive · 27/02/2018 17:58

Bumping again. Our voices NEED to be heard.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 27/02/2018 18:03

It has been written to muddy the waters. Especially the blurring of lines and interchanging of sex/gender. Put them right on the difference between sex and gender each time, then answer.

BarrackerBarmer · 27/02/2018 18:57

Done.

What a steaming pile of crap those questions are. Designed to make it impossible to answer truthfully or meaningfully, and with a view to falsifying outcomes:

eg
Q1: Should it be legal to run over puppies with a car?
y/n/don't know

Q2: If we go ahead with the proposed changes to make it legal to run over puppies, would you prefer
a. It be not specified which vehicles are allowed to do this
b. It be limited to two wheeled vehicles eg motorbikes
c. don't know

RESULT OF SURVEY: respondents were split between those in favour of cars running down puppies, those in favour of only bikes being allowed to run over puppies, and those unsure which type of vehicle was best suited to run over puppies.

Stupid, devious, incompetent feckers.

hungryhippo · 27/02/2018 19:12

I agree the questions were loaded with bias. I put “Don’t know” for every question I didn’t agree with but that doesn’t really do the job, as illustrated by BarackerBarmer! Angry

flintyminty · 27/02/2018 19:23

Done
TBH decided not to spend too much time on it as was making my head ache. Put brief comments in most boxes. Wanted to let rip and rage but only got as far as - this is nonsense!

I clipped the final page with the ID code at the end to my Evernote, The suggested folder was - "Outing ideas" Confused

AuntyElle · 27/02/2018 19:37

Done. Thanks for the reminder.

wasthataburp · 27/02/2018 19:38

Got a link to questionnaire?

FannyFifer · 27/02/2018 19:48

I keep trying to fill it in but it's very very confusing.

I had a massive rant about this in the section at the end "were you satisfied with the consultation" or similar Blush

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 27/02/2018 20:13

Done, and bumping.

perpetuallybewildered · 27/02/2018 20:14

Done. Thank you for highlighting this. Would you mind if I shared your video on Facebook?

terfsRus · 27/02/2018 20:14

Done.
Not very user friendly and probably designed to bore people to death.
But I did bother to read section 7.23 and annex J for the non binary option and it is the most ludicrous thing I've seen.
They are proposing to perhaps do away with the words 'husband' and 'wife' so that non binaries are 'respected' and they also talk about the possibility of non binary people legally being a third sex.

Who are these muppets? I very politely pointed them in the direction of biology and that perhaps that might be possible in Tatooine, but as far as I know not yet Planet Earth.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/02/2018 20:24

I may have pointed out how bigoted they were being, proposing to only recognise three "genders"

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/02/2018 20:40

Done. Thanks for the reminder.

I hate the way these things are worded - the only reasons they do it this way is to fudge the results or (more likely) put people off completing the survey.

I am not letting them get away with it. This is so important - Scotland today, the rest of the UK tomorrow.

Casmama · 27/02/2018 20:53

Done. Thanks OP for your video and raising awareness of this.
The potential long term impacts of this are really scary.
