Am I allowed on here with my kids both grown up? 🤔
I just wanted to say omg thank you thank you thank you SO MUCH for your support for the crowdfunder to keep Labour all-women shortlists just for... err... women. £22,000 now and my sisters here booted it into the mainstream.
Anyway will check back in case anyone has questions.
You Are Mighty
Jen 😘😘😘

Thank you Jen, I really appreciate your efforts.

We’ll be under a Labour government soon?
Shock

Quite literally hell will freeze over before those bastards get my vote.
Corbyn - a man of the people?? Yes, only the menz people.

As a life long Labour supporter I am truly appalled at there treatment of women.

We are your sisters, daughters, wives and friends.
When the fuck are any of these men going to stand together with us??

smeerf · 07/02/2018 06:52

Hi Jennifer, I am in Venice Allen's CLP (the other woman who is suspended) but I have never been to a meeting, despite being a member for years. They're (we're?) having a women's forum on 18th Feb which I am planning to attend (providing I don't go into labour before then!), although I've no idea what to say.

Any tips? Or just wing it?

Hi Jennifer, I just pm'ed you

TheNerevarine · 07/02/2018 07:01

Oh, and I have a question actually: are trans men who change their sex legally to male be excluded from AWS? If they are, presumably it's not been a problem so far because of the small numbers of trans men with a GRC, but if self-ID comes through and lots of girls transition, changing their sex legally, then it will be enormously shit if they're all excluded, despite being members of the very sex the AWS are supposed to help, and probably will be one of the most marginalised and at-risk too. How is that not trans-exclusionary?

Sorry to babble on, but it's not really an angle I've seen much, particularly on Twitter.

picklemepopcorn · 07/02/2018 07:07

The current direction is attempting to marginalise 50% of the population. Again.

Thanks for taking a stand for us all!

SweetGrapes · 07/02/2018 07:11

Hi Jen, good to see you here. Have been donating and putting my head above tge parapet cautiously on facebook. Still alive and kicking.

Thanks for what you are doing!

I have a disabled daughter and while she loves having men around, all her personal care has been done by women. I 'm damned if I stand by and let her lose her right to say No to men helping her change her pads. Men may be lovely and all that But it's her right to choose.

Hi Jenny
I donated to your fundraiser and emailed it to Stella Creasy, my MP to warn her that labour were in grave danger of alienating women. Women are cancelling their membership rather than be part of a party so content with such blatant misogyny. Tumbleweed response from her...

I will not quit and will still vote Corbyn despite this... because in all other policy areas I am 100% on side, and am 100% against Tory in ALL areas. I hope to fight this issue from within.

There was a concern that your crowd funder may be used for other purposes, like challenging Venice Allen's suspension, or things that are not related to what is written on the fundraising page.

Are you definitely using the cash to bring a case against Labour? Which lawyers are you / will you be paying?

JaimesGoldenHand · 07/02/2018 07:22

Hi

Just to say I'm not a Labour supporter but I donated to the crowdfunded as I'm horrified with where this seems to be heading. I'm genuinely scared by the attitude that some men (MIT or not) have for women. No wonder we are belittled, talked over, physically assaulted, pressured into sex, ogled and employed for our looks, when there is such a strong sense of male entitlement in our politicians.

How has this "trans woman are real women" got so far? Because men have no idea of the shit we face or what it means to have our safe spaces and our means of gaining equality (AWS) trampled over.

Good luck with whatever you're legal case is brought using the crowdfunded proceeds.

howonearthdidigethere · 07/02/2018 07:27

Morning Jennifer. I donated to your crowdfunded twice. I work with young people and I can’t describe to you the unholy mess that this intersectional liberal feminism shite has made in schools. It’s terrifying and I have many young girls who have a long list of labels and a few children now with enormous power to bully and silence others because they can’t get their head around this shit. There’s no one to advise me and I’m scared that I’ll get in trouble every day for saying the wrong thing.

All of this is to pander to adult males and is a by product of gender studies departments being able to inform educational policy.

The Labour Party are exploiting this mess to get the youth vote. I’ve left the party over this. I’m devastated.

MissBeehiving · 07/02/2018 07:27

Kudos, Jennifer Flowers

sashh · 07/02/2018 07:29

Morning Jennifer.

Glad you have found us.

Stopmakingsense · 07/02/2018 07:29

I donated too. Not a labour member but I was a labour voter. Not any more. Mumsnet is a lifeline for me in a mad scary world where identity politics has trumped science. My trans child will not be called for a cervical smear because her medical records and passport say her sex is 'Male' - hasn't been near a Gender Clinic. That is political correctness gone mad. Well done for making this stand, many others to follow.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 07/02/2018 07:31

I've been up since 3.30 trying to write an evaluation.

LostSight · 07/02/2018 07:32

Thanks for standing up for women. The amount of money raised and the speed are heartening. This is not the tiny minority of women some people would like to believe. And if there are so many women who object, there is something wrong when people still refuse to listen.

God luck with everything.

grafittiartist · 07/02/2018 07:34

Thank you for what you're doing Jennifer. I'm also a member, and have no intention of cancelling my membership. This is my party too, and leaving gives me no voice.

HerFemaleness · 07/02/2018 07:42

Hello Jen, I donated twice and we chatted a bit via email. I'm really pleased to see you here.

GColdtimer · 07/02/2018 07:43

I wasn't really aware of all the ramifications of self ID before. Tried to discuss it with a colleague and was made to feel like a bigot. Are there any well argued well reasoned articles anyone can point me to so I can be more intellectually equipped in future? I know there are 100s of threads I could trawl through but any recommendations would be great. Thank you

And well done on the campaign.

PerfPower · 07/02/2018 08:10

Hi Jen, good to see you here and thanks for bringing this issue out in the open. Great article you recommended by Trish Lavelle in The Morning Star. Can anyone do a clicky link?
