Here's my post replying to Moth
Thats an interesting article moth. Best not on the board or MRAs would be all over it!
I was wondering today, hopefully, if the news about darts getting rid of the girls means the overton window is shifting and maybe p0rn will become less acceptable?
If not all this hooha about F1 girls and the presidents club is just tinkering on the edges.

I know some of us are studiously ignoring certain threads

But by christ this is an awesome retort

You dramatically underestimate the level of education and knowledge of your interlocutors, and dramatically overestimate your own cleverness

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 11/02/2018 21:18

Indeed. hiding
And just hear the Father Ted music ....

rowdywoman1 · 11/02/2018 22:26

I am full of admiration for the persistence of some on here with those threads. I really can't be arsed and when I look at the ducking and diving and deliberate misrepresentation - nope ... more Wine

mamaryllis · 12/02/2018 03:51

Just catching up - saw the idea about sending someone undercover and it reminded me that years ago, I was carrying out a study with a male researcher. We were looking at how adult MTF transitioners ‘learn’ gender (considering similarities with babies/ children but looking at formal gender education like dressing agencies, speech tuition, movement etc - anyhoo an entire rabbit warren of actual lessons in how to woman in order to pass). If my male colleague called the support group/ charity/ organization, he was welcomed and invited to come in and visit, and conduct research. As soon as it was known he had a female research partner, his invitation was rescinded. I wasn’t allowed anywhere near any of the groups.
But we had a LOT of individuals who wanted to be involved (primarily with me - and a lot of them would ask womaning advice when being interviewed).
There was something really bizarre going on in terms of access. No women. No debate. I’d forgotten that until now. The everyday refusal to engage with women en masse is not a new thing.

I just saw @lasswi'thedelicateair on a thread! She's not dead Grin maybe just bored of trans threads

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/02/2018 11:17

I know quentin Grin

Just spotted her as well

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/02/2018 11:23

I nearly yelled

LLLAAAAASSSS

On the thread she was in

But it was a serious thread and i got told off the other day for derailing (even though i dont derail serious threads unless they have already descended to my level)

QuentinSummers · 13/02/2018 11:44

You got told off for derailing??!! Well that person is an idiot. Clearly.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 13/02/2018 11:54

Some threads are in desperate need of a little light derailment

Glad to see Lass and Curry as well this morning. Otherwise this board is starting to resemble my secondary school dinner hall. I can't hear myself think, it's all gone factional and as soon as you sit down some tedious fucker sits next to you and starts debating philosophy

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/02/2018 12:14

I'm getting bored. But for me it is less about actual debating as digging in with entrenched views and not listening. Back to the Litter Tray.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 13/02/2018 12:24

Yes it's getting rather tedious. Feels like groundhog day the last few days.

Avoid the dog threads Yet. Now that's Fight Club

Here's a nice wee pup

Bluestocking lock in!
YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/02/2018 12:41

That's not a sea lion is it? :)

I don't go near the dog threads. The Litter Tray is full of lovely, supportive probably mad types who all dote on each others' kitties. :)

Riverside2 · 13/02/2018 12:58

May I post this for light relief?

I don't even know why it's funny but it's so funny!

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 13/02/2018 13:08

It is yes a sea lion pup

Here's another cheeky one

Bluestocking lock in!
AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 13/02/2018 13:11

That's great river

QuentinSummers · 13/02/2018 13:50

Yeah it is hard work out there at the moment. Maybe we should all revamp to feminist theory for a bit.
I hate to say it but it does make MN feminists look a bit obsessed with trans

OP posts:
QuentinSummers · 13/02/2018 13:50

Decamp not revamp

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/02/2018 14:27

Is revamping about taking our falsies (teeth) out?

It's not so much trans that's doing it for me it is the 'toe the line or you are against us' attitude re this. The Jennifer James thread is doing my head in. There is one right way and that is that.

Riverside2 · 14/02/2018 17:31

don't get the teeth joke

it's my birthday soon and I got my first gift - elderflower liqueur! It's nice. I think I'm supposed to mix it with something....but I don't have anything in.

anyway, today at work has been ugggh. One of the things I hate most about office days is people telling me stuff about other people that I just don't need to know. Booo-ring. There's another thread going on about headphones....I'd never have survived 9-5 open plan office every damn day without headphones.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 14/02/2018 17:45

Dd had a surprise birthday party today (belated...surprise!!) and it went well

Im so relaxed now that im virtually in a coma

So much food left though

And the pub shed will be delivered mid march, much earlier than expected!!!

That liqueur sounds nice river

Riverside2 · 14/02/2018 17:53

oh that's good Rufus

you're setting up pub in a shed?!

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 14/02/2018 18:08

Only a home pub

Like this

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 14/02/2018 18:09

Riverside2 · 14/02/2018 18:09

Rufus, I love it Grin
