Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

A solidarity thread

Diplomacy is not my thing, but I try.

After this weeks events I thought I would start a thread with the express aim of expressing solidarity with the world wide web's feminists and the MN ones in particular.

Also because I came upon these:

www.facebook DOT com/ pages/Mumsnet-Sucks /120667294688534

anti-mumsnet DOT blogspot DOT com/20110301_archive. html

Sorry but I am not putting them in as links on purpose, because I don't want them to link back here (and if you cut and paste them into your browser and put in the dots you will see why.) Both are anti-MN sites, both of whose number one enemy appears to be the feminist/women's right section.

Let's not pander to them, I say. They are the only ones who want to shut this board down and shut us up.

Feminists of MN! I will support you always.

HerBeX - I cannot help but feel, that if these people (or indeed any MRAs) believe men are being done a disservice in any way, they should spend less time hating on the MN's feminists and more time taking positive and productive action to improve things for themselves.

Perhaps that's a bit too difficult for them to grasp though.

HerBeX · 07/07/2011 18:05

Ah, but the way to make things better for themselves, is to put a stop to feminism and other nonsense.

If we could just go back to the good old days when women knew their place, all would be well....

I want to know where dittany is

I have a nasty feeling the last couple of days may have been the proverbial last straw for her Sad

AF, I was wondering if she's ok. I know Dittany and I clash on our views of somethings, but I bloody well admire the woman. She's one of the most strong willed people I've ever spoken (typed) to...

Dittany, if you're reading this, just let someone know you're ok?

Oh yes, of course, silly me.

In my case, it isn't my DH who would like for me to know my place, rather it's my MIL.

I hope that's all it is. I really do. :(

I read on the chat thread, that Dittany has sent a text to one member, saying she's taking a short break but plans to be back.

AnyFucker · 07/07/2011 18:14

I have never seen anyone take the amount of shit on MN that Dittany does.

Then some twats extend it to other sites

What the FarSideOfFuck is that all about ? Confused

Stupid, ignorant morons.

PSG, thank you.

AF, I have no idea. There are some sad, ignorant individuals around, and they've taken to stalking someone so they can abuse her?

To MumsnetSucks. You're probably watching this. There's words for people like you. Vile, bulllying pigs. Yet that doesn't sum up the disdain I feel for you...

I've just realised I can view the Facebook page despite not being a member of FB.

I'm disgusted and appalled.

I hadn't actually looked at Mumsnetsucks FB page before

Gosh, the poor thing. Something really terrible must have happened in his life. Sad

I just found the Anti Misandry site and I can see this board is a regular source of 'entertainment' on their forum.

One guy called James said he was here yesterday causing trouble, and will give it a week or so, and he'll come back to cause more trouble.

His life is clearly lacking meaning.

I've shut the AM --shite== site down now, because my blood is boiling.

I know I've only been posting here a short time, but I lurked for a while before posting, and have learnt a lot from the long-standing posters. I'm really angry to see what they're saying about some of the individuals on this board.

What sad lives these people leave.

Worse still, some of them are other women.

If I'd have known Mumsnet had this board, I'd have joined ages ago.

I used to post on another parenting website, but when I saw a post on there from a woman saying feminism is one of the worst things to ever happen (?!), and that it was better when women and men knew their place, AND for some others to agree with her, I threw my hands up in disgust.

Many years ago in South Africa, I asked why the govt just about tolerated anti-apartheid white student organisations, but banned equivalent black student organisations.

"They don't like it when black people get organised," a veteran explained.

It's stuck with me.

they really do need to take up patchwork quilting. It would give them a worthwhile focus in life and calm them down.
