X-Factor producers forcing girls into sexualised dress?

I haven't watched X-factor for a few years but thought I'd youtube Gamu today as I was wondering who this person is who is all over the news.

I saw her first audition - looking like a teen, quite modestly dressed, you could concentrate on her voice and her presentation

Saw her boot camp audition (later in the process I presume) - horrible short, tight skirt, patterned tights, heels you could break your ankle on, tiny very low cut top. Hair hardened into a style that looked old for her age.

Would this change happen without pressure from the producers to dress in a sexualised way? I'd be interested to know from TV people posting here, I believe there are some on the site?

Well that's a great start. I'll get started on this straight away. Except, am I allowed to keep my private car? I do quite like it, but if sacrifices have to be made, then so be it.

erm, on the DM, I was thinking more on the lines of giving it away free in order to further the education of the public.

claig · 17/10/2010 13:22

Smile, it's blue, I'll get it adapted straight away

I think I need something stronger

Claig; I'll have to defect if we don't allow you to have a car - far too nanny state for my libertarian tendencies

Though we should make public transport so super that you'll choose to use it much of the time and then your car will be an expense that you wont be able to justify :)

"Able bodied people should work and support themselves and their families.
Disabled poeple who can work should be supported.
Wages should be a decent living wage
Benefits should be enough for dignity and support but not encourage 'dependancy'
Eaxh case needs to be assessed individually based on residence and circunstance, not one size fits all"

Isn't this a Lib Dem policy - negative taxation
and a Green policy - citizens income

Shall we just copy and past them into our manifesto?

yes the poster should be displayed in every government office.

Agree about cars. The people should have cars, the bureaucrats should walk, preferably while carrying heavy weights.

I've tried to complain to OFCOM, but the form seems to stop at the address page, without leading me on to the actual complaints page.

Does anyone have a straightforward e-mail address by which I can send a complaint?

Oh and I urge everyone else to complain too. I think Claig's conspiracy is a bit OTT, but I do agree with her that they are taking the piss - how fucking dare they shove pornography and sexual assault in prmie time family viewing?

What we need is a Miss World type protest, but security nowadays is so much tighter.

Mumcentreplus · 17/10/2010 18:05

I just complained to Ofcom...the page acts weird but when you refresh the complain form comes up..

HerBeatitude · 17/10/2010 20:31

OK will try again

I would not encourage my dd to watch this garbage and it is not representative of the music industry. Anybody with a little talent wouldn't go on such a programme. Try turning it off and playing a game
