Strange breast mass/lump

Just looking for a hand hold really until I can get to the doctors. Four years ago I was diagnosed with a fibroadenoma underneath the nipple. Two years ago I went to get it checked out again as I thought it had grown. They did an ultra sound and it was fine. I have been rather obsessively checking my breasts for the last month... prodding and poking and now it feels there is a harder mass just below my fibroadenoma . I wouldn't call it a hard lump and it feels really ropey. It does feel harder on this side than my right breast but when I push down I can feel the same ropey texture on both breasts. It just seems the side where I have the fibroadenoma is the tissue below it feels harder. But I'm not sure if this is because my obsessive prodding and Poking over the past month. I'm booking an appointment tomorrow but just hate that it is so hard to check your boobs, as you always come across rouge lumpiness and bumps and it's hard not to panic. To whoever has read this, thank you. I just needed a space to get my anxiety out xxx

Hi @TheFeistyFeminist I'm so sorry yours was bad news. Thank goodness you checked and were on it immediately. It's such crappy luck.
Thank you for sharing , it's really useful to come together and feel supported.

@TheFeistyFeminist I’m so sorry to hear your results. Thank you for sharing and I wish you the best with your treatment.

@Welshy26 I’m in South Wales (Cardiff) where are you?

Tuesday feels so far away. I have one lump on my right which feels like another cyst. On the left all the previously fibrous stuff has solidified and there's a very hard lump whic h feels like a massive stone (satsuma sized) towards the bottom and side of my breast. I always still have pain in my back kind of opposite it.
Really wish I'd gone earlier. Since the antibiotics the pain has gone but it's all much harder like stone.

Welshy26 · 20/05/2023 09:05

@EightToSixer I'm in North Wales.

VerityUnreasonble · 20/05/2023 10:48

Hope all goes well today @EightToSixer

Hello. Sorry for the delay reporting. I have quite good news. The lumps I can feel aren’t showing up as anything suspicious on the ultrasound or the mammogram, but the mammogram did pick something up higher up in the same breast. A cyst. They needle aspirated that and the fluid was clear which was good enough news for them to discharge me. I was in and out in 45 minutes.
I’m so relieved. I do hope that you all have encouraging news soon and I’ll check in on you all and bring biscuits.

thinking of you all.

Crumpleton · 20/05/2023 22:25

So pleased for you @EightToSixer

They said they would see me after the scan on Wednesday morning and "tell you what you've got". So fingers crossed for an actual answer then!

This second lot of antibiotics have stupid instructions, I have to take them exactly 6 hourly and I'm not allowed to eat 2 hours before or an hour afterwards. I had to make DC write me an eating schedule!

EightToSixer · 22/05/2023 10:38

@overthinkersanonnymus thinking of you today. I hope you get some quick responses.

Just an update, that my whole appointment took over four hours. I had a mammogram and ultrasound and was diagnosed with a fibrodenema and fibro cystic breast changes (which explains the Grainy texture). Am very relieved and very impressed with the service I received. Thank you for your kindness and support on this thread xxx

That's great news. No biopsy so no waiting?
Mines tomorrow, I posted earlier about the context.

overthinkersanonnymus · 22/05/2023 18:49

Hi all. I got the all clear too 😁 the poppy seed lump I can feel is a duct and the other lump is just nodular tissue. I was in for under an hour all in all.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for their appointments or results.

OneFrenchEgg · 22/05/2023 19:14

Amazing @overthinkersanonnymus what a relief
