Sorry I forgot to post last week. I have lost 2lbs in a fortnight. Quite disappointed as I've been really trying (I thought) and exercising a bit.

I find it so much harder now I'm 50 to lose weight, gone are the days when I could just not eat properly for a few days and the weight came off.

I guess it's something tho fear my ideal stone is going to be hard to achieve!

Well done to those who have managed to lose. Bleugh, I have gained 1lb (now 10st 10, which is the heaviest I have been for a long time) which isn’t surprising after a week of boredom-eating over half-term (baking, trips to cafes for coffee and cake, coffees while I stare into space at soft play etc). Hoping I can take control now the kids are back in school.

@lunklitdays me too. The only thing that works for me is 5:2. I’m still trying to summon the will power. I find it hard when it’s cold.

I had lost 2lb on Friday but then I had a weekend of non stop eating (planned celebrations) so I would imagine this week's weigh in won't be so good.
I do find a cheat weekend helps me stick with diets though. I feel really bleurgh today, so bloated and dirty! Looking forward to cleaner eating!!

@Benjispruce5 it's so difficult isn't it? I try and do 16:8 intermittent fasting but some days I don't do so well. I have just had covid and honestly I don't think I've ever eaten so much, I was starving the whole time so I'm really just back at it this past couple of weeks. How much are you hoping to lose?

@itstimeforme well done on your loss, that's terrific. Do you mind asking me what plan you are following if you have one?

Thank you everyone! I'm not following any particular sort of diet plan.

Just cutting right back on sugar and carbs and concentrating on fish, vegetables, fruit, nuts and home-made soup. I've joined the local gym and am doing as many cardio classes as I can as my children are all grown up and I have the time. I still have a stone to lose and am determined I get there before we start shedding coats and jackets for the Summer. The Winter is the best season for hiding excess pounds. Good luck everyone we can do it!

@lunklitdays I’m 10st 2 and 5ft 5, which is my top weight. I’m happiest at 9st 4-7 and normally manage to catch myself by 9st 10 and reign it in. Last year I was 50 and did 5:2 in Feb and got to 9st 4 by my birthday 8weeks later. Can’t believe I’ve let it creep back up. I think I kept under 9st 7 for months. I’m blaming working in school with windows open for Covid ventilation. When I’m cold, I eat! At the moment I’m trying to just eat 3 healthy meals. So I have either porridge with skimmed milk or a boiled egg and 1x toast for breakfast, a salad for lunch with a bit of protein and an apple and sensible family, evening meal like baked terriyake salmon with stir fry and noodles. I’m not a snacker and don’t have a sweet tooth really , it’s just portion control and weekend wine/beer that I need to curb.

How is everyone doing? I’m 1lb down finally but I’m quite pleased as I’ve only really upped my steps. It will spur me on. Plus it’s my birthday in a few weeks so I’m determined to get to under 10st by then. Short term goals help.

I was 1lb up this week but I expected a lot worse given I had a whole weekend of celebrating with lots of food and drink. I managed to get back on the diet and still feel motivated so that's good.
Agree with the point about small targets - I'm going on a weekend away with in laws end of April so would love to be down to 11st 7 by then (I'm now 12st 3). I'll review next target after that.

Only 1/2lb off this week so 6 in total. Took my eye off the ball a bit so aiming for 2lbs off by this time next week! Going to give it my all..... Smile

Morning all
I am 9st 11 today, 2lb down from when we started!

I haven’t been dieting; I eat healthily but then I will have a binge and mess up. I only fell off the wagon once last week so managed to save myself. Basically since I got into my 50’s and lockdown, I can’t afford to eat like that anymore 😞

Morning all :)
I had gained 1lb after my last post... which wasn't as bad as I had expected. Thankfully I managed to lose it the following week and I've lost another 2lb this week. I'm now 12stone exactly after 12lbs lost!
It's my lowest weight in over 8 years Grin
I'm going to have to set a new target soon! How is everyone else doing? X

Well done @afinethingindeed. It's a lovely feeling isn't it. I've been missing for a few weeks, been very busy but another 3lbs down so currently 10.9 from a start of 11.4. Really pleased, this thread was my inspiration. How is everyone else doing?
