Cancerous Tumour??

Bella198567 · 19/12/2021 03:41

Hello, wondering has anyone experienced a red congested cervix highly suspicious of malignancy?
Waiting for the biopsy results
Normal Pap smear in feb last year and normal ultrasounds until now!
This has come on suddenly bleeding everyday, my oncologist is certain is 99 percent a cancerous tumour which was never picked up even though I had an internal ultrasound done last month
Has anyone experienced this?

Hello there ✋
So been feeling better as they swapped my meds

Currently 7 radio two chemo
I was supposed to have 6 chemo but it's been reduced to 4 due to no lymph node involvement they said?!

You’ll get there. Seems forever, but it’ll soon be over.

Xx

@Bella198567

How are you getting on? Are you halfway through yet? Hope all is well.

Bella198567 · 15/02/2022 23:43

Hi @HP79 ✋
So I've finished my chemo I had 4 sessions however the last two I had allergic reactions and was hospitalised 😣

All ok now I have three more radiations left then start my brachy on Monday three sessions

I've had lots of nausea but have medications for it.

Apart from that ok.. they don't tell me much as I've keep asking if the tumour has shrunk they said they don't know until my second brachy so I'm very nervous 😥

@Bella198567

Congrats on completing the chemo! That's a big milestone on the road to recovery. So sorry to hear that you were hospitalised... hopefully you are a little better now? All very traumatic/dramatic, isn't it?!

Good luck for the remaining few sessions. I hope that they will be able to give you some indication before brachy of how the tumour has responded so far. Keeping everything crossed for you. Keep us posted! X

Bella198567 · 15/02/2022 23:49

Thank you @HP79

Hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life but it's to save my life so...

I'll keep you posted after my brachy
Thank you for thinking of me and hope you've been well and enjoying life!

@Bella198567

Exactly! You just need to focus on the end goal... and the end is very much in sight now. Brachy can be hard, but knowing it's the last bit of treatment makes it much more bearable.

I had a hospital check-up yesterday and it's all looking good. That will be you soon!

Bella198567 · 15/02/2022 23:59

@HP79 That's fantastic it's such a relief once you get good results from the doctors isn't it

I can't wait for some positive results followed by a glass of Red wine! Haha

@Bella198567

Once your brachy's done, bloody well treat yourself! As you say, hardest thing you've ever had to do, so you deserve a reward.

Did you manage to book a little trip away somewhere?

Bella198567 · 16/02/2022 00:11

I can't wait for it to be over and I'm so ready to see my family I miss my nieces and nephews so much

We haven't booked anything yet because I haven't been feeling great I wanted to wait to see how long my recovery would be then take it from there! X

Hi Bella, just read your post whilst holding my breath reading your updates!
Best of luck to you. You are very brave!

Bella198567 · 16/02/2022 00:23

Hi @PonyPals
Thank you so very much
This has been the most difficult journey I've encountered

I'm still in shock how our bodies are capable of handling treatments.

I'm on the home stretch now just praying for good news xxx

Hello 👋
So today I received fabulous news from my oncologist I showed an excellent response from just my first Brachy, the cancer cells that were invading in the womb of my cervix are gone and the tumour has shrunk from 5cm to 2cm!

I'm so happy, nervous, scared and relieved all at the same time. I'm not out of the woods yet but that news made me so happy! I have my final Brachy on Friday 🤞

HP79 · 02/03/2022 22:07

Amazing news!!! Fabulous!!!

Hopefully the rest of the brachy will punch that cancer right in the face! 🤞

HP79 · 11/03/2022 17:43

How are you getting on, @Bella198567?

Hopefully the treatment's all done and you're on the mend?

Bella198567 · 11/03/2022 20:41

Hello how are you?
I've been feeling great finally have my energy back and slowly starting to feel like myself! Feels great to be able to be a fun mum for my son again

I won't get my results until September not sure how to keep myself busy until then as my mind keeps thinking about the cancer....

Is it strange that I'm missing everyone at the hospital? I feel a little lost not being updated everyday... hope all is well with you x

OP posts:
HP79 · 12/03/2022 00:01

September?! That's crazy. I had scans 2 months post-treatment and was told about 2 weeks after that that they'd successfully killed the bugger. I would have hoped you'd be on a similar timeline, rather than having to wait until September. That's an agonisingly long wait.

I'm glad you're feeling better though. I told you you'd get through it! As hard as it is, the best thing for you to do is to assume that all will be well and to just try to get on with enjoying your life. You'll drive yourself mad otherwise. X

Bella198567 · 12/03/2022 03:30

Tell me about is the wait is crazy
Apparently that's the protocol here for cervical cancer in Australia 6 month wait 🙄

I have my appointment with my oncologist/gyno in June not sure what that's for? I'm assuming a physical examination...

I'll definitely need to look for some hobbies and keep myself super super busy for the next few months!!

OP posts:
HP79 · 09/06/2022 00:18

@Bella198567

How are you doing? Everything ok? Thought you must be due your appointment soon.

Bella198567 · 09/06/2022 02:03

Hey there! How are you? Thank you so much for checking in
I am doing really well I had my physical examination last week the gyno said he couldn't see the tumour so fingers crossed I will be ned in September!! Been feeling great, back to work just suffering from menopausal symptoms sore joints, ect
Mentally it's been very challenging but slowly getting there!

OP posts:
HP79 · 12/06/2022 17:39

@Bella198567

Fantastic news that you're feeling well and hopefully soon-to-be NED!

Sorry to hear about your joints and menopause, though....I've been there! If you're suffering very badly, speak to your doctor about HRT. I'm not on it myself, but I hear it's very good. Definitely don't suffer through it if you really don't have to.

The ankle joints are the worst for me. I hobble around like an elderly cowboy when I get up in the morning! It eases off once I get going though. Such a weird thing, the whole experience. We made it out the other side though. Yay us!
