Cervical cancer? What else could it be?

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 15:30

I have had a smear- awaiting results but told that the cervix looks healthy.

I have had my bloods taken- this has come back as 'fine' what is the purpose of taking my blood? If it's fine does that mean I do not have anything wrong?

I had an internal and external scan at my gp surgery where they referred me. They said it is not fibroids. But they couldn't see fully.

I have had for the last 12months increase in discharge this has always been clear but appeared to be constant.

I have had cramps throughout my cycle. More common recently.

I began to bleed in December.
I have been flooding at points.
I stop bleeding and start again following any pelvic exam.

I am in pain in my pelvis which radiates, I can have stabbing pro longed pains on one side.
I have stabbing pains in points in my lower back but not always the same places the pains seems to move and is not constant. It seems worse at night and in the morning.
I am exhausted.

I have been referred to a gynocologist. And am awaiting to hear of an appointment. This was on the basis that I begged them too.

My sister was diagnosed last week with cervical cancer she is 1 year younger than me.

I am worried. But would rather know what is wrong with me. So that I can deal with it.

Are you menopausal?

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 15:34

I am 33.

Endometriosis perhaps?

I've had cervical cancer so I know the worry. It could be, but it could also be many other things. Actually the waiting is the worst bit. When you know what you are dealing with, you can begin to process it, but the waiting and worrying is horrible. I'm fine now by the way.

Fingers crossed for you.

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 15:39

Thank you
Endometriosis also sounds serious.
Life is on hold. I'm an emotional wreck. But throwing pills down my neck and strolling into work like nothing is wrong.

Fishwifecalling · 27/02/2019 15:50

I don't think it's that serious. Not particularly nice but not serious.

When do you get your results? And stay away from Google.

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 17:12

3 weeks for smear

But already referred to gynacology. Who I believe will test me for everything. By the time that comes through would know if test was abnormal or not.

Fishwifecalling · 27/02/2019 18:15

I think my abnormal smear letter came through quicker than it was supposed to.

Although I said stay away from google - google endometriosis. I've just googled and the symptoms do sound similar to what you described.

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 18:26

What stage cancer did you have?

OP posts:
Fishwifecalling · 27/02/2019 18:30

Stage 1b - I was lucky in that a routine smear picked it up.

Fishwifecalling · 27/02/2019 18:36

What stage is your sister? - Bless her.

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 18:38

Very lucky!

I don't think endometriosis. Some symptoms I dont have.
It's not painful to have sex, but pelvic exam has caused pain and excessive bleeding afterward.

My periods always worked like clockwork. Only started going strange in the last 12months and that was just increased discharge.

My smear is 2 years late :-( stupid me. Was so busy with work and my promotion forgot to take care of myself.

I thought at first it was just stress. And then convinced myself it was a cyst. And then my sister was diagnosed with cancer. Similar symptoms.

OP posts:
Fishwifecalling · 27/02/2019 18:42

But they said the cervix looks healthy! Hold on to that.

Fishwifecalling · 27/02/2019 18:43

And with endometriosis they said the symptoms vary with each woman.

Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 19:43

Thank you.
Bloods also clear.

My cervix is bleeding though. After pelvic exam I heamoraghe.
I thought it was hormone imbalance at first and put my self on the pill. Cerrezette. This slowed the bleeding down. But anything touches my cervix and I bleed and cramp.

I suppose I can go through it in my head but it won't change anything.
I have 2 weeks off in April looking forward to the break.

I know anything anyone says doesn't make a difference to the worrying. It didn't for me either. I will be thinking of you. Please update and I really hope it is good news.

Thanks
Dollymix123 · 27/02/2019 21:18

Thank you. X

Hi,
Not sure if it will help but wanted to let you know that I also bleed after smear tests and at times quite heavily requiring a coupe of pads. I was petrified the first time it happened but the nurse told me that it can be a side effect of being on the pill for years - it can make your cervix very sensitive and it can bleed easily...
Still really important that you get everything checked but just wanted you to know it isn't always sinister.
Take care x

Dollymix123 · 28/02/2019 06:48

Thank you robbine.

I suppose it could be anything. But just as likely cc as any other option. And I will just have to wait.

I think as I was messed around with doctors and waiting lists, this smear should have already happened in January.

Woke up, covered in blood
Pretty convinced I was bleeding from my bum too. Turns out naproxen helped with that one.

Dressed for work, raring to go(not)
Doctor would like a phone consultation after recieving a letter from the gynacology department, I would think they want to fit me with a marina coil to control my obvious hormone imbalance.
But that's just an assumption, I doubt they are taking my illness as serious as me.

Back has been sore all night. Bleeding heavily again.
Still on Cerrezette.
Not sure if I should continue naproxen..And not sure how much longer I take without going sick from work.

Dollymix123 · 03/03/2019 20:15

Flooding again all day. Been very stressed due to an issue at my child's school. So not sure if it's related.
Really don't want to go to work tomorrow. Have an interview for my job on Tuesday. I've been doing it for 18months.
I'm heavily bleeding. And really sore. More painful back and cramping.

OP posts:
Dollymix123 · 04/03/2019 09:49

Doctor has delayed my referel for gynocolgy and I can be waiting months for it.

So last night I filled 3 pads. Each within the space of an hour. This morning my back is in agony and I'm cramping. Filled another two pads. I've been on Cerrezette all month so I shouldn't bleed at all. Shouldn't have a period.
Doctors phone cunsulation is they are going to put me on a pill to control my bleeding. 3xdaily for 3 weeks
If that doesn't work a marina coil.

I'm too sick to work today
I'm bleeding through everything. Back is agony.

Mabelface · 04/03/2019 09:54

Call 111. That level of bleeding isn't normal.

Dollymix123 · 04/03/2019 10:07

You can only phone your own gp.
I've just tried. Phone goes dead.

OP posts:
Mabelface · 04/03/2019 13:49

If you were bleeding this much from any other orifice, you'd be at A&E. If you can't get 111, it's worth going there.

TildaTurnip · 04/03/2019 16:02

I agree with Mabel. This amount of blood loss needs to be checked out. Sorry you’re feeling so rotten Flowers
