I am in so much pain, I can't sit easily, it's sore to walk and just generally sore all the time.

I've had the cyst for a few years but it's never given me any bother (had it checked at the time by gynae though, as it was the size of a large grape, and she said it was best to leave it as is if not troubling me).

However, it's grown rapidly over the past 2 days - to the size of an egg! - and become so painful, so I went to the GP this morning and she's given me antibiotics and said if it doesn't feel better by Friday morning I've to go back to be sent to hospital. I had a temperature at the GP and have been feeling a bit unwell for the last couple of days so I guess this is the reason.

Has anyone experienced this?

Please tell me it will be ok!!

@gincompetent actually just thought - you have a good reason to be "out of service" for a while - that'll learn him

RB68 · 25/10/2018 15:24

OMG get them to give you something stronger than flipping paracetamol though

JurassicAdventure · 25/10/2018 17:11

A LEMON?!?!?

Gincompetent · 25/10/2018 17:41

Dave and I are about to go for a nice warm bath.

And yes @JurassicAdventure a lemon!

The GP described it as massive, the junior doctor said 'oh yes, it's a big'un' the nurse who chaperoned him also said 'oh you poor love, that's a nasty one' and the reg and cons both felt it was too big and too deep to consider the local anaesthetic option.

I asked one of the nurses how common this was and she said they get 4-5 in a week, so quite common, but they hadn't seen one this size for some time! ☹️

OddBoots · 25/10/2018 20:12

I had one 10 years ago while a few days postnatal, the relief from the surgery to drain it was huge. I hope you can get some rest tonight and things go to plan tomorrow.

PrincessFabian · 25/10/2018 20:12

*show us a picture

Betsy86 · 25/10/2018 20:21

Sounds painful op Flowers
Im terrible and wouldn’t be able to not touch it would puttin a warm flannel on it help or would that increase explosion risk oh gosh take no advice from me lol. Bet it would feel amazing when it popped tho.... sporner alert lol xx

Pebblespony · 25/10/2018 20:30

I've sorted some with a drawing balm. They were tiny but so fucking painful. I dont know how you're still alive with one the size of a lemon. Holy God!

Gincompetent · 25/10/2018 20:35

See, this is the thing. It doesn't look like a typical cyst. Not to me anyway. And it doesn't look like it could pop either. It feels like it's much further under the surface, rather than on the surface if you know what I mean?

I think that's why all the docs ruled out the local anaesthetic option.

And the lump is so huge I'd basically be showing you my vag

I honestly don't think you sporners are missing out on anything!

Gincompetent · 25/10/2018 20:41

@Pebblespony this thing is in a league of it's own.

I do actually want to take a picture, as it will be hard to believe it was ever this size, but I couldn't bring myself to post it!

Maybe I'll go incognito on the sporners corner sometime

@Gincompetent oh no! Hope you get some relief soon!!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 25/10/2018 22:30

Jesus wept. Have you hit the gin yet? I’ve got a small one that I’ve had for years. Well I think that’s what it is. If it starts growing I’m off to the docs.

DH says it's like a giant testicule, and keeps calling me Dave!

Sorry but Grin

Gincompetent · 26/10/2018 05:06

Thanks @NewYoiker

@MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig DH thinks he's hilarious and chip-off-the-old block teen DD has now been WhatsApping me links to YouTube videos. ' 'Great balls of fire' 'I'm on fire' 🙈

I've been so miserable I haven't even given a thought! Missed a trick there!

4 hours to go.
