It'll be one of the Strike books by JK Rowling (Strike lives in a flat in Denmark Street, above his office)

🤣 I have read all of them except the last one! And somehow I didn't pay any notice. But I don't live in London so I suppose the setting would be just "London" for me whereas a Londoner would know the streets.

Three part series. Jaipur, Shimla and Paris. 1950s - 1970s.

Was that trilogy written about 15/20 years ago? Those places in conjunction ring a bell about something I read a fair while ago, but that is about all I can remember. There's been a few thousand books since then and sadly details blur nowadays.

Ready Made Family?

Antonia Forest? I recently bought a copy of this to reread, but I haven't been game to do so, as I don't want to find myself disappointed with one of my very favourite childhood memories. I read and reread all the Marlowe books so many times.

We just read the same book! And I do the same, every year. It's just lovely.

I have just ordered it...

@CurlewKate All the Marion Todd books are set there. The first one is See Them Run. Someone on here recommended them. If you like audiobooks, the author reads them on audible.

Mainly Dublin, with a bit of Paris and England.

One strand of the story 1920s - 1940s then a present day strand.
