MS Parker.

Smut books basically. Judge away Blush

FranKatzenjammer · 22/01/2020 20:38

For me it's Cathy Glass and Casey Watson's fostering memoirs.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 23/01/2020 17:22

I read a lot of YA tosh and absolutely love it. I'd never buy them in paperback because I read on the bus a lot so my paperwhite is essential!

MorrisZapp · 23/01/2020 17:23

May I know more about this smut, please?

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 23/01/2020 17:24

Actually, I should say that there's an awful lot of very good YA stuff too that I wouldn't be embarrassed about.

GeraldineFangedVagine · 23/01/2020 17:24

I like crappy vampire novels - the shade series, awful and mindless!

Blueemeraldagain · 23/01/2020 17:25

Philippa Gregory. I love all things Tudor and most of the books I read are non fiction but sometimes my brain can’t handle it!

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/01/2020 17:27

Any Victorian rags to riches saga, especially if the heroine has been kicked out of her job at The Big House for getting pregnant by t'masters wastrel son.

MurrayTheMonk · 23/01/2020 20:18

Also came on to say Philippa Gregory. My guilty pleasure!

BronteSisters · 24/01/2020 19:11

@GeraldineFangedVagine Nooo! Don't be ashamed of Bella Forrest's Shade of Vampire series! I'm a proud Shaddict Grin
All 75 novels had me hooked

BronteSisters · 24/01/2020 19:13

@MorrisZapp MS Parker writes pretty decent smut. Along the lines of Fifty Shades but written by someone who can actually write.

SpamChaudFroid · 24/01/2020 19:17

Stephanie Meyer. It took me ages to work out how creepy Edward Cullen was. Blush

Orangecake123 · 24/01/2020 19:18

Dan Brown.

Hated book 4 though.

CheerfulBunny · 24/01/2020 19:19

Jillly Cooper. I still retreat into her books when the world gets a bit shit Blush

Hedgehogblues · 24/01/2020 19:30

I don't understand the point of being embarrassed by your reading choices.you like what you like.

Shantotto · 24/01/2020 19:34

@CheerfulBunny You should NEVER be embarrassed about enjoying a good Jilly! They’re all fabulous! I read them over and over. Grin

Muddlingalongalone · 24/01/2020 20:01

Was also coming to say Jilly Cooper!
I would only share that with very select people. although they are on my shelf if anyone looks
I also regularly re-read Malory Towers & Trebizon & am looking forward to dd being old enough for babysitters club.

Papergirl1968 · 24/01/2020 20:09

The occasional Mills & Boon Blush

Sparkletastic · 24/01/2020 20:13

Jill Mansell
Bloody love Blush

weebarra · 24/01/2020 20:18

Lots of urban fantasy - Kelley Armstrong, Ilona Andrews, Melissa Olson!

Letseatgrandma · 24/01/2020 20:21

Yes, Jilly of the Cooper here!

WitchSharkadder · 24/01/2020 20:56

@Muddlingalongalone, I absolutely loved the BSC! I still have my full collection from childhood and none of my boys are remotely interested so I've been thinking about just reading them myself. This thread has inspired me to do it! 😁

Hemlock2013 · 25/01/2020 07:03

Can’t get enough georgette heyer here. I get totally lost in them. It’s so good for stress!

Yestermost · 25/01/2020 07:10

Jodi Picolt. Formulaic issue drama. So easy to read.

Squigean · 25/01/2020 07:15

Another for Dan Brown.

I know we're supposed to hate him, but I find them entertaining. Don't know the order so I'm off to find out which one book four is.
