I know I've been hogging the boards the last few days, but I don't care :P Just been curious on other peoples opinions on things.

I didn't know where to put this, so I apologise if it's in the wrong category.

I was wondering what everyones favourite Urban Legend/Cautionary Tale was. I have been fascinated in them for pretty much forever, due to so many meanings and of course expressing the nations fears.

So what are your favourites? Feel free to share the UL with us! :)

Although I'd cack myself, the spectacle of hoardes of glistening ghostly Romans, muscles rippling under chest plates, stout calves clad in exquisite sandals would be a good way to go!!

Surprisingly no one has mentioned the Urban Legends around the making of the Omen films.

My first thought, when they opened that theme park Saw ride was, erk...I really hope they've tested that ride, it's just inviting a curse.

I wonder if they'd dare open a Final Destination roller coaster?

update on last night - when i finally managed to unfreeze myself from the computer chair, turn the lights off everywhere and run upstairs, i got into bed, only for dh to be snoring his sodding head off...as is my wont, in these situatons, I crept along to corridoor to sneak into ds's bottom bunk. He had been asleep for about three hours, so i was really quiet...as I walked into his room, he sat straight up and growled, in a really wierd voice 'is that you...'. Reader, I screamed.

Another one I nicked:
"My sisters house has always felt creepy to me. There's probably nothing in it, it's just an old house and is full of creaks. I guess there could be something going on, but nothing has happened as such. Just a vibe really.
Anyway, I was staying there one night and suddenly noticed what I decided looked like a face in the material of the curtains! I know it sounds daft but it really did creep me out. I was about to go to sleep and realised I couldn't sleep with that there so shook the curtains to get it to go away. It absolutely wouldn't go. That was a bit weird.

I even took a pic to show my sis in the morning. She didn't care for it much either and even went so far as to replace the curtains soon after! Here's a link to the pic I took, make of it what you will!" face
