Blimey master 6 miles

I feel like a lightweight with my puny 5 k

how long did it take you to do be up to distances like that?

Themasterandmargaritas · 03/05/2010 08:48

chibi, I'm telling you only 2 years ago I couldn't walk up the road let alone run. After 6 months I did my first 10k, after 10 months my first half marathon! I've now done 3 half marathon and one coming up in June. It becomes addictive.

You are doing brilliantly, you will v soon be doing 5k comfortably then you can add on 1k at a time.

chibi · 03/05/2010 09:02

Thanks master

I have been running around 10weeksish and am amazed at how quickly I am improving

it is slightly addictive

smallishsheep · 03/05/2010 09:03

Cup of bovril? I ask you.
Porridge I assume you are a midget to weigh so little?

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 09:06

sunny today.

Ola all !

Long time no see

Reshape, congrats on the baby!

Cyb, sounds like the party of the year went with a bang (but without a cake)

Aitch, congrats on your first round up. Vg

I have been off for a while. Mainly biffing. Still, weight-wise I'm 9st 13lbs and doing ok. Back in the zone. The biffage made me feel like shite and so I need to get back on the wagon.

How's everyone else doing ?

EricPicklesFatNeck · 03/05/2010 09:30

i am dyeing my hair. god its tedious. any other badgers on teh thread? how long does your badger take to appear?

nice day here so once i am released from the shackles of the hair dye i will be out

running is v. addictive. i have just had a big leap in fitness and enjoying it.

fishie · 03/05/2010 09:33

i have to do hair about every six weeks. dull isn't it. started going grey in mid-twenties. parents both completely white by 50 so no hope for me.

yes running terribly addictive. i am under 67kilos! haven't been so tiny for 20 years. have just eaten two rashers of bacon with laverbread and a marmalade toast to celebrate. now another run...

EricPicklesFatNeck · 03/05/2010 09:37

i am down to 4 weeks! oh the tedium. now i am not working i have to do it myself [spoilt]

DarrellRivers · 03/05/2010 10:07

Home hair dying booked for tuesday when baby is out on a visit (ptherwise it is a pain whith toxic fumes)
I have to do every 4-6 weeks
5ish weeks i think this time as party on friday
I used to put some colour in mine for fun! and now I have grey that I have to cover
My mum was pretty good going grey in her mid 30s as well , so I have her to thank and genes I suppose.

Feeling focused today, and felt slimmer this morning after a virtuous yet filling day's eating
The large salad with supper worked, I pigged on that whilst everyone else stuck to the tasty things
Porridge to start and see how we go
Cloudy here

I would love to start running, but never manage to arrange it time wise
Hi, NDP, haven't see you for yonks
As you can see I did manage to have a 3rd baby
Must go and feed her now

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:14

Hiya Darrell. Bravo re dd!

My hair needs colouring again. Not for badger reasons though (only get the odd iffy hair once in a blue moon - just pull it out at the mo). I have about 4 inches of root about 2 shades darker than the ends. Not attractive. Plus I need a cut. Desperately. I must get that booked in. The trouble is that I hate going to the hairdressers. I HATE sitting there making conversation with the tedious stylist. I HATE the great big mirror and the harsh lighting. I just want to go in, have a cut, read a book and BE LEFT ALONE and go home. Hairdressing salons make me feel antisocial.

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:15

home dye jobs always lok shite on me. I can't do them properly. I always end up with purple ears and a stained forehead

SuSylvester · 03/05/2010 10:16

no no no
they are piss easy
ncienad easy colour 118
hair done for £4.25

really good - you need to go ONE shade ligher than real hair colour
freezer bag on head. peg ,bath done

BudaisintheZONE · 03/05/2010 10:19

My God you lot talk!!!!

Hi all. From Budapest where the May Day holiday is actually on May Day which was Saturday. As DS says 'that is no good to anyone!' So normal school and work day here.

Stayed in zone yesterday except that lunch was not planned salad but left over curry. Small amount chicken jalfrezi, daal, raita and a piece of chicken tikka. Was very tasty. Ate lots of fruit during day if hungry. Had roast lamb for dinner with roast veg and peas and gravy. Had one teeny tiny roast potato.

This morning had granola and blueberries. Took dog for 45 min fast walk. She is now shattered! Salad planned for lunch. Not sure about dinner - DH is not here so may just have some salad.

Weighed in and am a little heavier but about to get period I think. Which would also explain the huge row with DH on Saturday!

MamaG - do the swimming. My sis learnt to swim last year after being terrified all her life. She is so pleased she did it.

Can't remember who asked about badgerness. I have to get my hair coloured every 3 or 4 weeks. Thank God is much cheaper here than in UK so can do at hairdressers.

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:19

I have a colour in the bathroom cupboard, just checked and it is Nice and Easy 116. Similar to my natural colour. I think I bought it a while ago in a bid to combat the root regrowth problem but then never got around to using it.

SuSylvester · 03/05/2010 10:20

i had never ever dyed beofre and its so easy
there is a pointy thing to point at roots
really good

TheJollyPirate · 03/05/2010 10:22

Where do you all do your running. Do you just do street running and ignore anyt comments/stares? Or don't people take much notice if (like me) you are a bit on the heavy said (understatement for me) and are running?

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:22

I might have a bash in a bit.

DarrellRivers · 03/05/2010 10:23

lots o vaseline on forehead and ears
good gloves
little bit of time
used to go dark dark brown, but now as am older am going lighter
i have french toast by feria and have had bob cut and am cahhelling my inner maggie

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:24

I'm not a runner (used to be) but LOADS of people round here do road running. People of all shapes and sizes can be seen sweating up and down the pavements at all hours of the day round my way.

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:26

Blunt jaw length bob with heavy fringe is the cut that best suits my face. Can look a bit 'lego hair' if not careful but on the whole looks ok.

I can't go without fringe as I have a big tefal.

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 03/05/2010 10:29

I do street running round a fairly dodge estate here, and I am 16 stone. No comments but lots of nice smiles or pitying looks. I got wolfwhistled the other day which was a bit freaky though.

I need to redye my hair, it went a lovely purple after I mixed 2 different shades fo alid £3 hair dye and now it is just boring red.

Off to shops now DD2's medecine ahs kcikced in and she has stoppedcrying

Poor Buda, missing banmkl holiday, you went back to soon, thats the problem

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:31

Like this but with less of a Lady Gaga fringe. Colour very similar to mine too, but I smile more

DarrellRivers · 03/05/2010 10:33

I can't do a fringe
MIL who tends to speak the truth, said it makes my face look fat
Pity it is a great cut

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:34

I have to opp prob, without the fringe I look like a racehorse.

NomDePlume · 03/05/2010 10:35

the opp prob, not to opp prob
