"creamed meat" - euuuuuugh. I adore pate but described like that, it sounds revolting.

Popcorn - husks of corn heated until their innards explode

dinkystinky · 29/04/2010 11:40

I once heard someone pronounce pate as "PAIT" - made it sound really unappetising...

And Bobbie - its creamed meat with all the innards and fatty bits thrown in. Gawk gawk gawk.

Haribo - crushed up insects and pig fat...

dinkystinky · 29/04/2010 11:46

Have I scared everyone off with my description of pate

Bobs - nice shoes. If you wear them daily over the summer hopefully you'll get £90 of wear out of them in no time at all (and nice stripy tanned feet...)

bobbiewickham · 29/04/2010 11:56

Pink and white striped feet, dinky! I don't tan, I go from blue to white to red.

They are nice, though, aren't they?

CheeeseOnToast · 29/04/2010 12:01

Yes Bobs I like them too.

I am currently looking for some summer sandals, all I can find is Glads, which I usually dislike but I do like the ones you've found. Dont think I can quite justify the price tag though.

I went to New Look yesterday, which, despite it's mammoth shoe section, didn't have anything that I liked apart from some ballet style flats - cotton and perforated ones with a peep tow - but not in my size! Very annoying.

bobbiewickham · 29/04/2010 12:03

I know - I keep seeing nice shoes in mags and online, but nothing instore!

There are some fab clogs that are supposed to be in Next, but I'm buggered if I can find them.

CheeeseOnToast · 29/04/2010 12:06

ooh I'm going to Next after work. They do a huge selection of ballet flats (on their website at least ) I just hope they have a reasonable range in store. I want some plain black leather ones, I bought them about four years ago and they are falling apart. I wore them almost every day for four years, walking to and from work (4 miles a day) amd they really lasted. Comfy, and hardwearing, but still look dainty and pretty.

What are the clogs like you're looking for Bobs? I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I see them in the shop.

fishie · 29/04/2010 12:08

my boss has just said i am looking thin.

CheeeseOnToast · 29/04/2010 12:11

hooray fishie!! (and )

ZoneArmatrading · 29/04/2010 12:17

Nice one Fishie. of all of you with shoe freedom. I am gimmer of foot. Can do Birkies though. Bobbie, Aitch might be right they'll be a bit thunk thunk after birkies.
Really nice though.

BudaisintheZONE · 29/04/2010 12:26

Nice shoes bobbie. A bit expensive but if you can afford them then why not. Some of the cheaper glads around look really cheap and tacky.

I am in my third year of birkies. Or maybe fourth. Boring me.

Opened box of some summer stuff that is too small and some of it has now got mould on. Nothing I am too bothered by really I think. But washing anyway. Will see if any comes clean.

Seeing it all has reminded me I have a long way to go before any of it fits though! And some of it is size 20.

Well done fishie!!!! And yes

bobbiewickham · 29/04/2010 12:28

I am used to mega flat as wear ballet pumps and flipflops as well as birkies.

Clogs are black with studs round edge, not too high. Gorge.

Though have biffed out on shoes today. May have to wait a while.

Well done on thin remark, fishie. Someone told me I looked like I'd lost weight last week, but with a worried expression, like I was about to die.

At 11st 5

EricPicklesFatNeck · 29/04/2010 12:28

god pilates was tough. i just don't have any abdominals. i suspect they were removed with dd

EricPicklesFatNeck · 29/04/2010 12:30

snort @ biffing out on shoes.

anyone help me identify gorgeous shoes seen on glam woman.

like swedish hasbeens sky highs but nicer. green leather not peep toe with green leather sandwiched on wooden heel bit

bobbiewickham · 29/04/2010 12:32

ooh eric, they ring a bell...sound larvely.

EricPicklesFatNeck · 29/04/2010 12:37

think bobbie think. i would ask her but she would be mortified that someone as foot frumpy as me was admiring her shoes. - actually maybe i would ask, she might give them to me in disgust

bobbiewickham · 29/04/2010 12:41

You should have asked - it would have made her day!

I'm sure someone linked to a pair like that on MN the other day...will trawl S & B.

fishie · 29/04/2010 13:45

these?

i have just got normal danish clogs, only £35 and can be got even cheaper.

noddyholder · 29/04/2010 14:03

these come in about 10 colours

fishie · 29/04/2010 14:05

i like these do we think blueberry is the purple?

EricPicklesFatNeck · 29/04/2010 14:07

thanks but none of those the green stripe through the wooden bit is the key

dinkystinky · 29/04/2010 14:10

Hurrah for the thinness compliment Fishie.
Hurrah for the wasting away compliment too Bobbie - and lol at the shoe biffage (my ginormo stapler tells that shoe biffage is permitted as is calorie free )

How are the plateau brigade doing with Dietmaggedon today? I see Eric has been off to pilates (I had a session like that too this morning Eric - think my ab muscles have gone off for a holiday somewhere)and I've just done my combat class. Everyone else sticking to their plan?

JackBauer · 29/04/2010 14:52

Fark me, have you guys done anything today? I;ve only been gone a few hours.
Went for lovely slow walk round park with toddlers, didn't go for a run today as it's not very nice and moved furniture instead, so count that as weight training...going to do 8 minute abs and legs later to make up for it
Had one cheese twist and some of my cereal bars for lunch, but they are v healthy, no fat at all, but a bit of sugar.

Quite pleased with how bedroom is coming along, found a table on the street with a big sign saying 'free, take me' (no really) and have put it in my room for the sewing machine, then refolded all my drawers from that thread last night and made shedloads of room.

CheeeseOnToast · 29/04/2010 15:12

Refolded? What's this Jack, a new way of folding things? This is the kind of thing I like!

bobbiewickham · 29/04/2010 15:20

Oh Gawd.

I was doing so well.

Porridge, veggie sushi, fruit.

Then I biffed it and had a bag of vegetable crisps and a Love bar from Pret

I don't know what is wrong with me at the moment.

How do I stop? How??
