I'm hanging on in there (just). Mum keeps proffering tasty bits and pieces and I'm having to go 'NO, NO, MOTHER, I'M NOT HUNGRY' at the top of my voice - at which she clucks with irritation.

On a side note - my brother has always battled with his weight. He and I were always fat children (I think it's because we were picked on so much that we just became nerds and got good degrees in the end. He's now a vice president at one of the big banks), and he blames mum entirely for that. I think that's a bit harsh - I just think I'm weak!

Good thing about being a pariah at school - you work hard

FYI - working out to 'Go Baby Go' by the Noisettes is tres good.

stirlingstar · 27/03/2010 19:50

Crikey you lot are prolific. I told you mine would be occasional posts - and I'm going to have to give up reading the bits in between if there's any hope.

What pie chart stats do you want? I'm 5'2", about 9 st 2 want to lose about 8lb to get back down to wedding weight but actually just getting 5/6 off and keeping them off would be a major success. REALLY want to lose wobbly belly but realistically weight loss takes less time/organisation than sit-ups.

Yes I am in Stirling and not well disguised by choice of name.

Tactics = plan what I'm going to eat in morning and stick to it. 3 meals and 1 snack allowed. I know this will work if stick to it - it's the sticking that's the prob. I wasn't going to do any particular carb avoidance, just general healthiness and stop with the cakes etc - hope that's OK or do I need to get more radical to get in the zone?

Was in the zone All Week and v proud of self. Today had 3 hot cross buns above plan, and also breakfast was a croissant instead of oats so have been a bit off course. Actually way off course now I write it down. But I did help build a wall, so got a bit of exercise.

stirlingstar · 27/03/2010 19:52

Also secondary goal = buy pair of non boot-cut jeans. If I lose lbs legs might get longer???

geordieminx · 27/03/2010 20:02

Am def in zone here.

Made salmon and roast veg for tea. Was going to do a couple of potato wedges each for us but couldnt be arsed thought better of it.

Half way through cooking dinner I'm thinking "christ this doesnt look very much"

Half way through eating dinner "christ I'm full"

Ate salmon and a few bits of veg - rest went into bin.

ConnieComplaint · 27/03/2010 20:03

I would like to be at my goal for race for life at end of May... although we have a May ball & dd's Holy Communion before that.

Mme, no, only aerobics & running make me sick and -wet-- myself, but I think it's the jiggling about. At the spin I'm stationary on a bike & when toning, obviously I'm not bouncing about around the place.

Coco, I'm in the Ballymena direction, whereabouts are you? Far enough away for me not to smell your pongy egg obviously!

Am sitting here being very virtious with a fruit salad & fromage frais whilst dh is scoffing Tesco onion rings & a pint of Carlsberg.

cyb · 27/03/2010 20:05

fishie here is my eyeliner do they do purple? linked before I could check. it goes on luvverly

cocolepew · 27/03/2010 20:05

Ballymena hey? [ducks]

I'm in Ards.

cocolepew · 27/03/2010 20:07

yum yum

duckyfuzz · 27/03/2010 20:16

mmm tasty coco

MmeLindt · 27/03/2010 20:18

Oosum
who is the guy on Twitter? There are some strange folk on there

Coco
no worries about the war thing. Reminded me to talk to dd's teacher. Yes, little French girlies not allowed to sing We Will Rock You. Only trusted with maracas.

Stirling
I am jot doing radical diet. Healthy meals, no snacks and running. Hope it is enough

BariatricObama · 27/03/2010 20:50

can't read the whole thread, dh is helping the cause he cooked tonight and it was inedible.

LadyBlaBlah · 27/03/2010 20:56

Jesus this thread moves faster than my bowels after my lentil soup.

Anyhow I am officially excited about the next weigh in. My newscale-itus has passed and I am seeing improvements and will be able to contribute fully to creating our very own obese person.

The zone-ness of me is astounding. Out with big group for proper pub lunch today and I had fish and veg (not potatoes or bread) and v.small portion.

Someone said "you look the best you have done in a long time" Bit backhanded, but

dinkystinky · 27/03/2010 21:56

Ladyblahblah -swear I heard a thud several hours ago and thought yup, that's MamaG toppling over...

BO - hurrah for your undomesticated DH keeping you in the zone.

Totally recommend the WW 6 point chorizo chickpea and cod thingy - so yummy DH is now talking about having it on a weekly basis (bulked his up with lots of bread)

MamaGoblin · 27/03/2010 22:01

Family over for lunch today, I was worried I'd overeat, but I did roast chicken, roast veg (white wine, honey and lemon juice drizzled over - my new favourite way of making roast veg taste interesting), celeriac mash (for me!) and new pots. Ate one new potato, had celeriac, chicken and NO SKIN although it was unusually crispy for my oven and veg, etc. White wine sprizter. Fruit salad for pudding.

Best thing was I didn't feel hungry at all all afternoon and had no desire to snack. Is this the Zone? It feels like it.

Can't keep up with thread and eyeliners, so am retiring to bed early in the interests of DS probably waking up bloody early again (clocks going forward nonwithstanding).

cyb · 27/03/2010 22:04

YEs you are there mamaGoblin

I was in the zone as I ate my small portion of freekin delicious chicken curry and brown rice with ONE poppadom (37 cals) ok make that 3 poppadoms and a naan the size of 2 playing cards.

Sounds a lot but I ate less today cos I knew I would be having it

THE ZONE

McBitchy · 27/03/2010 22:14

largeggandt i am tempted to brave cutting carbs for a week to prove to you that i never lose weight

BUT and it's a biggy - i live to eat white bread and pasta - and drink beer which is high in carbohydrate

LOVE the stuff....butter and carbs are my mainstay although i also love veg.....

i could never do the Atkins

I sound really attractive troughing down butter pasta white bread and lager!

MamaGoblin · 27/03/2010 22:15

I tell you what, I bloody well AM.

There's another one of those (reduced fat) lemon sponge puddings in the fridge that I'd earmarked for after supper today. Is it still in there?

YES IT IS.

mmm curry.

dinkystinky · 27/03/2010 22:17

God sounds like Mamagoblin and Cyb are well and truly in the zone. McBitchy - not sure your favourite foodstuffs are meant to be in the zone!

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 27/03/2010 22:33

you're probably bloated from all that refined flour, mcbitchy. give them up for a week and it will disappear.

i ate a chicken curry thing, with yoghurt, no carbs. felt a bit weird not to be having carbs witha curry tbh. like meaty soup.

and have eaten some peanut butter out of the jar as a snack, which isn't so good. but dh out at stag do so am lonely, boo.

McBitchy · 28/03/2010 00:08

thanks le singe
peanut butter good protein and loaded in fat soluble vitamins so placate yourself with that

MamaG · 28/03/2010 08:02

You are all loons

I wansn't plannign to not eat all day y'know!

I hada lovely butternut squash risotto made with no fat, but a splosh of wine

Not hungry again, but AM going to eat something small and healthy as I agree, it's not good to just not eat.

I don't usually do it
I usually hog.

Well done on being in zone Goblin
