Paul McKenna weightloss system

C1NDY · 09/06/2009 09:47

Hi, I have just started the Paul McKenna weightloss system. Would be interested in anyone else who wants to join this journey with me. I have started the 90 days journal entry.

I went to Paul's seminar on Saturday and found it truly inspiring.

PLEASE DO NOT COME ON THIS THREAD AND TELL ME THAT PAUL MCKENNA DID NOT WORK FOR YOU. AS I AM SO INSPIRED THAT I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE FAILURES - THIS IS GOING TO BE A SUCESSFUL THREAD! If I follow Paul's rules I can't fail.

Look forward to anyone else wanting to share positive thoughts on this system.

Thanks
Cindy

yes, I am not going to weigh anymore (well tyr not to anyway)

I listening last night to paul - had been using a different hypnosis - and was able to visualise myself slimmer, but only parts of me, is this normal? Like i could visualise my tummy being flatter but couldn't see it as part of the rest of me - very weird

i dont think I have lost wieght this week, I have swapped contraceptive pills very recently and also been off work with a virus so my habits have slipped a bit, although no where near as much snacking as I used to so I guess that althugh I havent lost, I have been listening to my body to an extent.

I find myself goign to the larder out of habit and realsing I don't actually want anythign thats in it. I can walk into shops and not feel the urge to buy chocolate now too (although I think the prices put me off also LOL)

anyway, thats me rambling .....

gingernutlover · 28/06/2009 08:13

oh also, i gave my book and CD away to a friend and although I have the CD on my ipod I dont have the book, is it worth ahving that too, do you think? I notice its very cheap on ebay.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 30/06/2009 07:40

Well done on resisting the choccy habit gingernutlover.

I liked the book but have lost the CD, so read the book in one go and am reading small chunks to try and keep myself on the straight and narrow.

But . . . I have had a really shite day today. I feel terrible - poss PMT - anyway have had a horrendous headache/migraine for the day, darling kiddies are driving me nuts. Weather here is awful, had a terrible storm so has been hard to get out and about. Anyway I cracked and bought some truffles and scoffed the lot. Also scoffed 1/2 a jelly snake and a marshmallow. Also I am eating all the time today. I think it's because I feel ill and am ANGRY (PMT aaaarrrrggghgghghghghghh).

Poor kids I have been a horrible mother, and feel miserable. Also I made the mistake of weighing myself yesterday and I lost 2lbs in 2 weeks, which is ok I suppose but put me in a grump as I'd hoped to lose more. I think I will hide the scales as I really think they do more harm than good. I was feeling right perky until I weighed myself.

Bad day all round.

gingernutlover · 30/06/2009 08:00

2 pounds is 2 pounds! well done

its less than you were 2 weeks ago. I was ill last week and felt like i just ate and ate, and i havent lost anything so it must have been true, Ihave swapped my pill lately too which i think is messin up my cycle, hormones etc.

but for the last few days i do feel better and more on track, i feel quite positive and think that listening to the CD has been helping. I won a copy of the book on ebay at the weekend for £2.50 inc postage. I am guessing it come with the CD so if you want it you are welcome to it as I have it on my ipod.

gingernutlover · 30/06/2009 08:00

oh and colleague that i ahvent seen for a couple of weeks noticed i had lost wieght YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gingernutlover · 30/06/2009 08:30

re the choclate, i just dont fancy it, or biscuits

or much rubbish to be honest

i guess this week my guilty secret is that i have craved soreen malt loaf, so had it for breakfast LOL but it has raisins, so does it count as one towards 5 a day?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 30/06/2009 09:24

Thanks for the perk-up talk gingernutlover. And thanks for the offer of the CD, I live in Australia though so the cost of sending it would probably be too high. Very sweet of you though .

Oh God I too love soreen malt loaf. The only place you can get it is a UK import shop down by the beach so I've been known to do the 90min round trip drive in order to fulfil my cravings .

I find the whole 'hormonal' eating thing quite tricky, I'll look at the book again, but i don't think he really addresses it - or do you think it just is encompassed by the chapter on cravings?

gingernutlover · 30/06/2009 09:31

i think the hormonal eating thing is hard too, i just find that although i might have nibbled, i havent binged so whilst i may have eaten more than i needed i didnt go completely mad like i would have before, does that make sense? It's probably why i stayed the same last week.

I tried on a summer dress this morning as its so flippin' hot here at the moment and it fits but is a tiny bit tight, which made me so pleased i started this 2 weeks ago (cos it probably would have def been too tight then haha)

Hope you are feeling better today.

Joolsiam · 30/06/2009 09:34

Re the 2 lb loss - if it makes you feel any better, its taken me at least 7 weeks to lose 2 lbs and I well know how demotivating such a slow loss can be.

All you can do is put the blinkers on, keep going and the weight has to come off eventually

I don't think I'm working this system properly - allowing myself to eat what I want seems to mean I am snacking more, and a rough tot-up of calories eaten in the last couple of days suggests that I am eating to maintain, not lose weight - or at least not at any noticeable speed. I'm not sure what to do - the book has to go back to the library today, but I think I'll renew it and re-read, and perhaps listen to the CD again ..

gingernutlover · 30/06/2009 09:40

joolsiam, hiya, how are you doing?

re the snacking, I think as long as you have had a glass of water first to check whether you are genuinely hungry then its fine to snack

i am finding that if i know its only an hour til lunch but i feel hungry i have something little with a big glass of water (i have set lunchtimes at work so have to do this). I have also found, i want apples, raisins, nuts etc rather than mars bars ha ha.

Joolsiam · 02/07/2009 10:05

So where is Cindy hiding - on holiday ???

I'm feeling a bit slimmer - the heat has helped as I've just not been hungry. I also must have been a little constipated without realising but ate a small bag of apricots on Monday and that seemed to get things moving, so the scales have moved this morning

and yes, I know I should stop weighing myself but I can't !

gingernutlover · 03/07/2009 18:52

yes, where are you cindy??????????

just ordered friday night pizza treat and am very hungry so really looking forwrd to it - this is so refreshing and liberating

gingernutlover · 04/07/2009 10:14

where is everyone???

this isn't good, just as I was feeling so positive everyone dissapears LOL

Joolsiam · 04/07/2009 12:48

Just got back from the gym

I also worked out today that, despite weeks of plateaus followed by sudden weight loss, I've managed to average a 1 lb per week loss - 18 pounds in 18 weeks

One minute I feel thinner, the next minute I catch sight of myself and just get depressed at how long losing another 2.5 stone will take. Definitely am a bit more positive now though

Gingernut - how are you keeping the positive vibes going ?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 04/07/2009 13:04

Wow Jules 18lbs is fantastic well done.

Gingernutlover keep going with the positive feelings. It sounds like you're also doing really well.

I feel rather like i'm sliding off the wagon. I went to a chocolate factory yesterday and managed to eat quite a lot of their AMAZING product. Also tonight dh cooked for the first time in our 10 yrs together - it was really lovely and I didn't want to insult him by leaving half even though I was stuffed, so I scoffed the lot .

I really need to read the book again, also i need to stop drinking a glass of wine a day, and I need to reign my snacking in.

Ho hum, I need to be inspired by you girls!

gingernutlover · 06/07/2009 09:13

HA! Well just had a bad weekend. Saturday was school fete with cakes, followed by fish and chip supper on beach for our anniversary, sunday was day at wembley for take that which meant i ended up grazing all day.

Am definatly feeling it this morning though, only thing i wanted was marmite LOL, guess I needed salt.

Back on the system today.

Howes everyone else doing, c1ndy? are you still out there somewhere?

C1NDY · 08/07/2009 09:26

Hi all.... goush, so sorry but I am dizzy sometimes... I forgot to tell you all that I went on hols but really I thought I would be able to log on when I got to our holiday destination hotel but had my hubby's laptop... well forgot my password and then couldn't be arsed to email to find out what it was... so enjoyed the hot hot hot weather last week. Only went to Bournemouth and Brighton but what a week to go!!

I am doing okay... I do forget occasionally to eat slower but once reminded I am doing well. Have not walked last week much as was soaking up the sun and just enjoying the break with DH and DD aged 2. We had a wonderful time

Must say I drank quite a bit of red wine but did not crave any food or even had a desire to eat chocolate.

I am not binging anymore which is good as I think this is what my weight gain was all about. I am focussing on stopping myself before a binge occurs. I use Paul's technique of placing weight into my belly so that my body can't move and its working a treat for me. I also am doing the tapping exercises and find that cravings go after one tap session. (yes, I do look bonkers doing the exercise but at least I will be skinny one day!)

Have load on today as have been out for a week.. so give me a mo and I will read all your messages and get back to you all.

Goush thanks for missing me... or is it that I type too much

Hiya, been absent from here with too much work going on.
And also been having a struggle the last couple of weeks.
Lost 5lb in my first fortnight and then 1lb the next one. So of course better then none, but 1lb was disappointing as I thought I had done quite well. C'est la vie...

But was wondering about the pedometre that was talked about ages ago - the GCC one. Looked online and nothing comes up. Can you send me a link if poss.
Keen to get one that works reliabley asap as going to the country for 8 weeks with work and will have lots of time to walk - or so I hope!!

Hope everyone is doing well.

C1NDY · 13/07/2009 18:35

Hi BlueKat... Its the Global Corporate Challenge predometer. I am part of a challenge we are doing at work, hence me covering 16,000 steps a day.... but I found this on google... if you go at the bottom of the page.. .there is a contact us.. they may be able to send you one out?? otherwise anyother will do, go to Millets or anyother camping/hiking stores, you will find better one's located there.

www.gettheworldmoving.com/whythegccworks/pedometerinstruction.aspx

The above link talks about the perdometer I am using...

All the best
Cindy
