Would any other slow losers like a half a pound a week solidarity thread?

I am such a sloooooooow loser and peri menopause has pretty much killed it off. If I am left to my own devices I naturally eat exactly my maintenance calories, and to undercut by 500 a day feels like such a hardship. I exercise regularly, get my steps, cook from scratch and it’s not enough any more.

please don’t suggest weight loss meds. I’m not eligible and I couldn’t afford them anyway.

my strategy is 1500 cals a day, good quality food with as little UPF and sugar as possible, increase veg intake, get an extra walk in after dinner, and reduce my alcohol intake. It’s all very simple stuff really. A half pound a week will add up to 21lbs by the time I go on holiday next summer 👙

anyone else feel the same?

Happy Saturday!

I'm desperate for a gin and tonic and some crisps tonight, but the scales finally dropped another 1lb yesterday so I'm resisting. I don't want to undo my hard work.

Breakfast - 2 eggs & mushrooms on slice of sourdough
Lunch - tuna protein wrap with sweetcorn and spoon of cottage cheese instead of mayo
Dinner - pork loin with sweet potato and roasted veg (no oil)
Snack - kefir yoghurt, cacao powder & blueberries
1420kcal

Exercise
5k jog
10km zwift cycle
1 hr walk
17k steps total

My total loss over 6 weeks: 4.8lbs

Definitely starting to feel a bit of fat loss now; my sports bras are more comfortable to wear and my hips seem a tiny bit less flabby.

We had a fun Saturday but I did not stay on plan, and my evening meal was huge 🤦‍♀️ it’s so hard isn’t it? But anyway, back on it today.
I have been bitten by some insect, my ankle is huge and really sore and that will probably mean no run today although I will use my home gym, I have not been keeping up with my routine. I will walk the dog as well, maybe twice.
not sure of breakfast and lunch yet but dinner will be a roast this evening 😋

Well my plans derailed with the tension headache from hell- i went to bed friday lunchtime and basically felt no better til yesterday evening. I then didn't take the right gear with me to train as well as coaching this morning so I am putting it off. Coaching involves riding a bike up and down after crews whilst not really looking where I'm going, so got a little exercise that way but well under my programme for the week.

I've not been snacking etc as I've literally been asleep, didn't go out yesterday eve and so I've dropped a kg but I'm pretty sure that'll bounce back tomorrow.

I’m feeling really sorry for myself and incredibly tired. I was bitten on the ankle on Friday by some sort of bug and my whole ankle is now rock hard and hot and incredibly painful. I now have antibiotics. I can’t walk or run and to compensate I have been eating a whole load of crap. Not even nice, just sugary doughy garbage. I’m going to settle down with a cuppa and accept that the day is a total write off.

That sounds really bad @thenewaveragebear1983 hope the antibiotics kick in soon. Be kind to yourself / one day as a write off is not the end of the world. In fact sometimes it’s an absolute necessity!

TakeTheDog · Yesterday 18:44

@thenewaveragebear1983 that sounds horrible to deal with, don't beat yourself up for a bad day or two, getting back to feeling yourself is much more important.

WhitegreeNcandle · Today 06:32

Well I have to take my own advice for yesterday and not beat myself up. I had one of my monthly meltdowns about no one helping in the house. Which is then intensified when I get angry that I’ve used the word help as it’s not help, they live here too!!

Anyway, as I’m trying not to drink at the minute (amazing how often I’d been reaching for it to deal with stress) I ate 4 of those massive cookies from a bag of 5. 4!!!! I felt it last night as horrid nights sleep and feel sluggish this morning.

Back to it today. How are you feeling @thenewaveragebear1983 ?

thenewaveragebear1983 · Today 06:54

@WhitegreeNcandlei totally get it, i did the same yesterday! I am so tired of life just being constant work and i spoke to my sons yesterday and dh, they need to start just being a bit more productive and putting things away. I am sick of every time I go into a room I can tell who has been in there and what they have done/ had because everything is left everywhere.

I felt really tired all day yesterday and in total I think I napped on and off for about 3-4 hours! And still slept all night.my ankle feels much better today, it must have been brewing a nasty infection in there. It’s still swollen but isn’t as much and isn’t hot. Although I was half awake on and off with night sweats last night.

I need to also apply my own advice. I weighed on Friday so my official weigh in is a M but if I was to weigh this morning it would absolutely be a gain. I need to go back to basics on my diet, and really need to cut Down on gluten, sugar and wine, and actively try to put more protein and more veg into my meals, as I don’t naturally do this often.

I have my shop coming today so fridge is well
stocked and there’s no excuse, I just need to actually do it. I have bootcamp at 5 after work, and I need to do some runs this week once my ankle is completely better. I did virtually nothing last week.

Well knock me down with a feather,am down 1.2kg since I ventured to join here. It's obviously helping me to think better about choices even if I'm not forward planning and tracking. I spent an hour sweating through the planned stuff on the rowing machine yesterday afternoon. Did have a glass of wine last night but have also cut back.

Today will be weights this evening. Keep on keeping on leaving the biscuit tin alone. Buy some plants for a client's garden check in tomorrow.
