⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! January Jumpstart 2026 ⭐️

January has absolutely flown by!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself. One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 4lbs.
Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Yes from happy scale

Hi losers! I've been feeling insanely flat the last couple of days. I hate being injured, taking medication and pain relief all the hours, and unable to do life normally 😭 yesterday was particularly bad - I was SO grumpy and weepy - but I didn't dive too deeply into poor choices i.e. wine/takeaway. I cooked a meal (not a particularly healthy one, but not takeaway) and had a dry day, but I did open the bad of maltesers from the week.

This morning I was still feeling low, but I forced myself to think about how I'd feel if I had what I THOUGHT I fancied, rather than a sensible choice, and I dragged my poorly self to Tesco for some supplies. Resulting meals below - still not perfect but again, steps in the right direction.

L - frittata (with onion, pepper, ham, tomatoes, spinach and feta) with some baked beans
D - pasta with stir in sauce, small amount of grated cheddar, large side salad. Greek yogurt, fruit and honey.
S - banana, tea. And I might just finish the maltesers to scratch the misery itch I still have, and remove them from the house for the rest of the week.

If I don't succumb to the choc, then my calorie count for the day is 1300, and I've nearly hit 5 F&V.

Hoping tomorrow is a more positive one ❤️

@ImALittlePea sending a mumsy hug; life sucks sometimes and I think the dreary weather just compounds the melancholy x

A bless you @ImALittlePea hope you feel better soon.

Fellsbells · 02/02/2026 21:54

Well done @socks1107 amazing milestone.

@ImALittlePea hope tomorrow is brighter. Well done on your self control in trying circumstances.

What a horrible grey Monday. My hormones (or lack of them) have knocked me today. Feeling completely numb and joyless, I couldn’t even be bothered to go for a run which is normally a guaranteed mood booster. As a result food choices haven’t been ideal, but nothing disastrous. Tomorrow is a new day.

TheRealHousewife · 03/02/2026 09:12

Good Morning All 🙂

Grey skies yet again 🌧️

Heating and lights on as it’s so dark and cold. 🥶

Menu
Meal 1 - Chickpea korma & cabbage.
Meal 2 - Cold cuts, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli and peas.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus & green tea tea & water.

Thank you @TheRealHousewife @Fellsbells @FridayNighFeeling

I had a small handful of the maltesers last night but didn't finish them. So went a bit over, but nothing major.

Feeling a bit brighter today. I've actually got a day off today - which was planned around an exercise class I wanted to do 🤦‍♀️ - but as I can't do it I'm going to hunker down, start a new book, and try and do a few light chores to get some things ticked off my list.

Lunch will be another portion of frittata, this time with a dressed salad.
Dinner... My eldest has a routine hospital appointment after school, and will likely get McDonald's on the way home. Our food shop won't be delivered until later so I will see if I can plan an easy meal to cook when I'm back, if not I'll just eat with him and try a fast day tomorrow?!

Will update later. Have a good day all!

biscuitcat · 03/02/2026 09:28

Sorry you’ve been feeling down @ImALittlePea - it’s rubbish feeling flat, and the grey weather won’t be helping I imagine. You’re so right that ‘ok, not fantastic’ is better than a takeaway and chowing down on junk though, we can only do our best and it sounds like that’s exactly what you’re doing 💜

Grey and rainy here, and aiming for a high protein day. I think pasta sadly doesn’t agree with me losing weight! I’m about 400g up on yesterday this morning and ate in deficit yesterday, and I think that’s likely to be the culprit. I think I’m also now in the second half of my cycle and still getting used to how that effects things, but I wonder if that’s also having an impact.

Today’s menu:

B - sourdough, almond butter, banana
L - gammon steak, tbc as to what I fancy with it
D - chicken with mash and spinach

ImALittlePea · 03/02/2026 09:33

Thanks @biscuitcat I definitely feel better for having not leaned fully into fuck-it mode.

Agree, high protein really makes a difference. We definitely don't eat enough in our family (and also too much carb), something I'm trying to work on. I'm upping my own with the frittata lunches, but dinners tend to be centred around what carb we're having. Something to work on!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 03/02/2026 18:09

Another OMAD today - yet another Persian soup from the cafe (chased down with hash browns!), then just coffee etc. Weight was a little under goal this morning, 500g, let’s see about tomorrow.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/02/2026 18:34

Hello February! January was a bit of a disaster, it started well but with a steady stream on birthday celebrations I didn’t manage to stay on track. We are going away for the weekend and then I am away for much of next week so I’m not overly confident of a good start to February but I will do what I can. I’m finding it particularly difficult to get my exercise mojo back - there’s something g about coming home when it’s dark and cold which makes getting changed into exercise clothes very unappealing. I’m currently hugging a radiator.

But thank you, as always, for the new thread @TheRealHousewife !

Determinedloser · 03/02/2026 22:02

Found you all.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Sorry you’re not feeling great @ImALittlePea!

A decent start to Feb for me so just need to keep it up!

Had a busy busy night tonight ferrying children back and forth and just wanted to sit down in my break between outings but forced myself out a run and managed to get my fastest 1km which I was really pleased about.

Not sure what the scale will show tomorrow. I know I am in a calorie deficit but also know that doesn’t always translate to the scales instantaneously.

Daft question but can anyone explain moving average to me? I’ve just added the column to my HS.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 04/02/2026 06:37

Morning! WoW is 69.3kg here, so .7 under goals. Need to recalculate BMI but I reckon it’s 21 or so.

Good luck wowers!

LemonDrizzle23 · 04/02/2026 06:48

Morning WOWers! First WOW of February!

@Determinedloser I think it sort of averages all your data out and shows the general trend and your most likely weight - evening out any day to day big spikes or drops.

Down 0.8lbs from last WOW, which is a start.

Current weight 13 st 11. There are three WOWs after this in Feb, so 2-3lbs off by end of Feb would be fab.

Good luck to everyone weighing. January was a tricky month - treat February like it’s the real start of 2026!!

biscuitcat · 04/02/2026 07:25

Morning all!

A less successful week for me annoyingly, and I’m up 0.5lbs on last week. A combination of snacking and water retention/bloating I think.

This weekend DH and I have a (rare!) date day together and we’re going for a lovely brunch, as well as some cocktails etc, so I want to eat in a slightly lighter way for the surrounding days to compensate.

Well done everyone checking in - no matter the number on the scale, staying accountable is half the battle!

mermadeincornwall · 04/02/2026 07:36

Morning beautiful WOWers

Stayed the same weight

Love the new thread @TheRealHousewife 💕

JumpLeadsForTwo · 04/02/2026 07:46

Morning all! 1st kg off - started at 88.8kg 2 weeks ago and now 87.8. I don’t expect it to carry on dropping that quick, but v pleased as I haven’t gone mad starving myself, and want this to be a life change not a diet, and I’m enjoying the food I eat. Having primed myself by reading Ultraprocessed people by Chris VT and ultraprocessed women by Milli Hill, so much ‘food’ just looks disgusting - turned down a cookie at work as it didn’t look appealing. I’ve never done that before 😂

socks1107 · 04/02/2026 07:52

My wow is 1.5lbs

SW 13.13
CW 10.13
GW 10.5 ( updated goal)

good luck to everyone today!

Determinedloser · 04/02/2026 08:09

Thanks Lemon, I quite like it because the massive highs and lows are disheartening!

1.2lb off this morning.

Well done on a fab start to Feb everyone!

BlackCatFanClub · 04/02/2026 08:38

After terrible January I’m 0.5kg up on my lowest weight. Went back to the gym and having an easy day. Trying to stop myself eating!

stealthninjamum · 04/02/2026 09:33

Good morning

SW: 197 lbs
LW: 184.7 lbs

Today 183.6 lbs

Nearly a lb down. Yesterday I made a huge pan of some soup with lots of vegetables but mainly cabbage and butter beans with about 5 spices. That’ll last for about another 3 days. I’m now looking for healthy salad recipes for dinner

moondip · 04/02/2026 15:23

Hello all & well done everyone for keeping accountable (and in doing so keeping me motivated 💪)!

I’m so happy that I’ve lost my first stone! (Since starting on January 1st).

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 95.8kg

I think so much eating for me was automatic that having NutraCheck has been such a game-changer because it gets me to actually think about what I’m eating. I’ve also upped my walking to about 10k steps per day for the past week or so and forcing myself out whatever the weather.

Hope everyone has a good week. Enjoy your date night @biscuitcat 💗

2026x · 04/02/2026 17:12

Hello... can I join please?

My weight hovered around 60-62kgs before I had kids (eldest was born in 2021) and I was really fit. I have fluctuated a bit since having my youngest 2 years ago but I have probably not been less than 64kgs and I am currently about 68kgs. I need to stop faffing around and lose the excess weight - none of my clothes fit me very well.

I'll do a proper weigh in tomorrow.
