If you'd seen the size of my knickers you would probably think that they do weigh 2 stone!

Keep polishing those halos. The rubbing must burn up a few calories eh?

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 11:19

thanks hun

yorkiegirl..my servers down at min, so cant email, will try again tonight

hope everyones had a good weekend

LunarSea · 24/01/2005 11:20

Well done monkeygirl

And know what you mean about 1st thing in the morning with nothing on miam. I do that too, every day, just to check that things are still on track (and to make me appreciate just how much damage one day off the rails can do), although actually the weekly one I record is last thing on a Thursday evening (still no clothes though!). I keep thinking that one week, if I'm doing really badly I'll switch to a morning one, as it usually makes a difference of at least a couple of pounds (even without the clothes!). I know though that I'll only be able to do that once, so I've resisted the temptation so far.

monkeygirl · 24/01/2005 11:21

Well done EM - that is excellent! And thank-you Miam.

I do everything possible before weighing myself - clothes off, toilet first and hopping around on the scales to optimise any loss!

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 11:21

yeah, am putting plenty of elbow grease into it

plus our new excersize bike is great(although hardwork as i am sooooooooooo unfit!), it tells you how many calories your burning off..only problem is i feel like ive just given birth and am walking like john wayne

monkeygirl · 24/01/2005 11:22

I'm still wearing knickers that fitted snigly shilst pregnant .

monkeygirl · 24/01/2005 11:23

sorry - one-handed typing whilst holding baby!

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 11:23

when i used to go to s.w, i would only eat free food, not eat after lunch(didnt get weighed till 7.30-8pm, so would be fainting with hunger), not eat bananas and force myself to wee a million times a day on the day of my weigh in, only to find that id put on weight...couldnt possibly have been that parmo i had at weekend...all my weeing should have cancelled that out surely

miam · 24/01/2005 11:26

lol at you lot - I definately have to go to the loo before I weigh and have to wait until afterwards to have my morning cup of coffee!! We must all be the same really.....

Eves, hee hee, as long as you look like a slim John Wayne, who cares??

Right, am off to use my Speedshaper again - yet to see results, but then again have only used it once!

miam · 24/01/2005 11:28

Perhaps we should be called BigKnickeredMamas? Must suggest it....

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 11:33

was thinking of changing mine to eves'bigfat'mama, but thought i might be defeatist when reading that on the posts i write

monkeygirl · 24/01/2005 11:34

Do you always wear the same clothes then when you go to be weighed at a club??

And what's a speedshaper - sounds tempting anyway!

monkeygirl · 24/01/2005 11:35

Nooooo EM - positive thinking - 'gonnabeslimmama' or something...

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 11:38

thankyou hun..will have to learn to be more positive

dp has lost 1/2 stone in under three weeks(only has a beer belly to lose and wants to get fit)
so, we're both feeling better about ourselves at min

well i should have set of 1/2 hour ago to get shopping before dd's playgroup, so will say bye bye for now....have a good day everyone

miam · 24/01/2005 11:50

monkeygirl - the second half of this class is an exercise session, so I imagine I will weigh in each week in my trackies. If I wear different clothes each week I will only convince myself that any extra pounds are due to me wearing a heavier pair of socks than the previous week...

A Speedshaper? Well, it is a contraption which is supposed to tone you in extra fast time (lol - I will try anything once). It is a stretchy band thing with hold holes for your hands and feet and you do stretching exercises whilst using the band for resistance. It's meant to be good for tummy/arms/bottom/chest/legs and it is designed to only be used for about 7mins a day! I will keep you updated......

pinksofa · 24/01/2005 13:51

well done everyone

i too wear iron nickers sometimes lead i am back on track after a rocky few days

today has been good porridge, pumpernickel and veg curry -

marj · 24/01/2005 14:44

Hello everyone!

Well done EM on your 3lb loss - brilliant!

I am very very sorry. I believe it was me who mentioned the dreaded C word on the previous thread. Did I do something to it? I didnt realise it was a forbidden word. I shall never speak (or type) it again! Sorry everyone. Promise to be good and well behaved from now on!

marj · 24/01/2005 14:45

By the way, I always weigh in on Saturday mornings and can never even have my morning cup of tea before I go as I am sure it must weigh loads!

I like to weigh in during the summer too as I tend to wear lighter clothes, instead of iron knickers!!!!!

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 16:35

ta marj..so how did you do this sat then????

marj · 24/01/2005 18:26

I lost 2.5lbs, but with my binge I have probably regained half of it! Never mind, I will just have to keep plodding on!

coppertop · 24/01/2005 18:30

It's okay, Marj. The problem wasn't with the C-stuff. We mentioned a certain word that begins with 'P' and ends in 'Y' and generally refers to pictures that are less than tasteful.

miam · 24/01/2005 20:05

Right, have a dilemma. I joined a Rosemary Conley diet class this evening (dragged kicking and screaming by my sis) and had to be weighed in ALL MY CLOTHES AND MY BOOTS!!!!! (Quite ironic that considering our earlier conversations...) This has resulted in me being about 6lbs heavier than my scales!! So, do I weigh in on a Friday as I always have on my scales and give that result to Yorkie, or do I start afresh with the slimming class measurements??

coppertop · 24/01/2005 20:29

I think I'd stick to using the measurements from your scales at home. If you decide to leave the class at any point then you would have to switch back again if you change scales now. Far less confusion all round.

miam · 24/01/2005 20:33

Good point ct - and going by my past experiences with slimming clubs, very apt. Well, that was easily settled!! Have you had a good day?

emmamama · 24/01/2005 20:36

Well, after being miserable over my weight for 4 years, I finally started my 'healthy eating plan' last week. Thanks to miam and her wonderful words of encouragement! So, with intrepedation I stepped on to the scales this morning to announce a 5lb weight loss!!!!!

Still too scared to set foot into a supermarket so I've just done the shopping on-line whilst munching on grapes.

I shopped like an angel .
