So as we are about to embark into 2024 and our year of fabulousness time for a new thread.

I’m going to begin in earnest next week when the gym is back open but I’m not eating as much this week and mucking out every day for fitness . Weirdly I’ve gone off sweet stuff, long may it last

G - I'm now partway into the Power Zone training. I've just had a look at the class plan for the next week and it's partly filling me with dread. However, either it's something I'm supposed to be able to do if my FTP is accurate or I need to lower my FTP so my zones are more manageable. But I have to try and see if my qualms are emotional rather than grounded in physical reality.

I have eaten much octopus and many tins or pouches of fish. You'd not know it from my stores as yet.

Happier - I've never been to NY. Several other cities, yes, but not NY. What a splendid motivation.

DH and I have decided to do the Human Being diet for 10 weeks when we get back, we are going to go in at phase 3 as phases 1 and 2 aren’t compatible with my PT regime as they’re too low in protein but phase 3 is just very healthy eating, no snacks, no booze and lots of water plus one treat meal a week.
There are 10 weeks exactly between our two birthdays so we will celebrate his then do the 10 week burst then celebrate mine and see where we are then.

Happierwithouthim · 07/04/2024 17:09

Gen that sounds like a good plan & two of you doing it together will be great.

Happierwithouthim · 07/04/2024 17:10

Hack I haven't been either
My friend recommended Woodbury common for shopping, neither of us are into shopping but seems a shame to go there and not shop!

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/04/2024 15:41

Back on it today as I’m back to 147.5 which is where I started with the shouty one 6 years ago
Bit of weights and 15 on tread mill, mucked put pony, walked dog
protein smoothie, granola yog and fruit, left over beef on 1 slice white bread, cinnamon thin bagel, grapes and soft cheese.
ds and I are doing the cinema so will get malteasers as least damage. Then chicken with mozzarella and pepperoni for dinner with left over veg

Happierwithouthim · 08/04/2024 15:49

Love it the shouty one Grin
Sounds like a nice food day.

I'm on 167, almost 20lbs more than you, taking Super 8's every day with the hope that I can start back to Metformin next week.

Happierwithouthim · 08/04/2024 15:51

Today's food
Whatever didn't spill on the floor of shopping centre of a muller corner yogurt when ds dropped it, while I returned home to collect ds's swimgear to drop off to pool this morning
Porridge with sultanas, raspberries and pecans
Toasted wholegrain ham/cheese/tomato/scallions sandwich
Dinner will be courtesy of my volunteer role, will see menu when I get there, hopefully a nice salad.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/04/2024 21:18

Dinner was chicken with pepperoni and mozzarella. Added veg. 16k steps

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 08/04/2024 23:38

Dinner was prawn & lemon pasta & was scrumptious

Gensola · 09/04/2024 07:59

We are doing a woodland hike today - it’s our last full day tomorrow and we fly home on Thurs. hoping I haven’t gained too much while away 😬

life I have been wondering what happened to the shouty one’s blonde girlfriend- she seems to have disappeared.

happier what are super 8s?

meal plan for us starting 16 April (day after DH birthday)
breakfast: two eggs, spinach, blueberries OR 120g Greek yoghurt with 25g whey protein, 10g nuts and blueberries

lunch: we both get this at work so DH is going for soup and a slice of rye brought from home plus any protein he can find that looks ok, my work provides nicer food so I will go for fish, veg and/or salad and fruit

dinner: lean protein + veg, salad etc - have some nice recipes like chicken baked with aubergine and tomato, prawn and lentil curry with cauliflower rice etc

the HBD plan completely excludes: white bread, pasta, white rice, potatoes, sweets / cakes /crisps (all UPF basically), sodas, alcohol.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2024 08:13

I went down an insta rabbit hole on the site and wondered the same. She was having a hard time so wonde if she’s quit the business or if they’ve split

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2024 08:15

I liked at the hbd but it looks brutal. There is no way I could live my life on the first week unless I stayed in bed. Do you recommend it gen?

I wondered what 8are

no gym today as just got up. So exhausted. Will take
dog on a long walk and muck out pony today

Super 8's are by UDOs Choice, they're probiotics Each daily capsule contains 42 billion 'friendly' bacteria , expensive though €31 for 30 capsules, but dc are taking them too & dm was while she was with me so just over a week's supply.

Afaik they've split up, I do remember reading something about what went on but pfft it's vanished from my memory.

HBD sounds tough but probably what we should all be doing. Staying away from UPFs!

Are you on holidays life?
I stayed up too late last night, watched an episode of Emmerdale & was going to go to bed then but last scene was good so I watched another one & when I went to bed I was cold so felt like it took a while to get to sleep, it probably didn't Hmm

I'm hungry now while I'm thinking about food. I got a snazzy new lunchbag on Sun but I've no shopping done so all that's in it today is porridge & a can of pepsi max. I will get a lunch from deli counter I'd imagine.

Gensola · 09/04/2024 09:35

life I’m not doing the first 2 weeks of HBD as my PT would go mad at me for low protein! Going in on phase 3 which is more doable, meals like the days I outlined just above.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2024 11:34

it did seen quite a coercive relationship she can do better

I’m trying to reduce and eliminate upf. Hard going when time poor

yy on leave this week. Just done a 5k steps walk in the pissy rain with doggo

Happierwithouthim · 09/04/2024 11:42

And it's just so easy to reach for too

I would like to run while dd's at horse riding but I've no food in, so I must do a click & collect, if that runs smoothly I might get a short walk/run done.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2024 14:39

Good yes.
i had crisp and biscuit today and feel meh now

hope you get the walk in

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 09/04/2024 17:10

I went to canteen with intention of eating one of the oreo brownie bites that was up there but someone had beaten me to it luckily Grin
And I only bought my wrap at deli counter so today's been good so far!

Happierwithouthim · 09/04/2024 19:40

Bought a lot of snacky stuff in Aldi, beautiful eve here so I'll walk when I get home because I need it & dog would like it too!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2024 20:29

Lost it in the choc cupboard

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 09/04/2024 20:59

So I arrived home & my phone rang & it was a retired colleague wanting an update on my other colleagues husbands health & now it's dark & I must eat dinner & put away groceries so no walk.

I escaped the devour the chocolate pms symptom this time around luckily.

Crackeur??

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/04/2024 07:28

No not this time. Racer bars and other junk. I’ll get the dc to hide it all

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 10/04/2024 07:28

Sorry you didn’t get for your walk. I’m gymming this morning then dog walk
no junk today

OP posts:
Gensola · 10/04/2024 07:31

I have a huge dip between 4-7 where I could eat the whole world. Logically I should bring my dinner/main meal forward but DH is French and horrified at eating earlier than 730/8.
Do we think this is hormonal?! Blood sugar? I’m not like this any other time of the day, when I tried fast 800 for instance I found it really easy to skip breakfast whereas DH was eating the carpet.

Happierwithouthim · 10/04/2024 10:17

Life that's a pity it wasn't even good chocolate.

Probably blood sugar gen or habit most likely blood sugar though?

Chicken & couscous for dinner last night which is also lunch today, wish I had taken the time to cook some brocolli to have with it. I also ate one of those soft bake filled with choc hazelnut filling to keep me going, I put rest of snacks into the boot and after my dinner had a skinny whip bar, 280 cals between the two.

Was hungry this morn & boss was having a meeting in kitchen so couldn't have my porridge early so had an aldi fulfill bar rip off 150 cals.

I think I've possibly had a drop on scales, look slimmer, but I didn't weigh, scales is in other bathroom on purpose.
