So as we are about to embark into 2024 and our year of fabulousness time for a new thread.

I’m going to begin in earnest next week when the gym is back open but I’m not eating as much this week and mucking out every day for fitness . Weirdly I’ve gone off sweet stuff, long may it last

Boo to no porridge

I'm officially sick of raspberries in my porridge or maybe they've gotten more bitter. So what will I add now? I've porridge, sultanas & some walnuts/pecans.

I don't love porridge anyway, but I'm paying endocrinologist enough money, I'll do as she says!

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/04/2024 15:24

Are you allowed sweet stuff? Honey, jam
and seeds, vanilla or strawberry protien powder stored through after cooking is nice 15g ish

i dont like possible either. Can youtell

I tried “carrot cake” porridge once which was mixed with a grated carrot, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and a teaspoon of maple syrup, it was quite nice as it went but I don’t like porridge either 😂

Happierwithouthim · 10/04/2024 20:49

I'm having a different version of porridge which will consist of two eggs scrambled on wholemeal sourdough Grin

Happierwithouthim · 10/04/2024 20:50

Needed to have a chat with my bestie, instead she's suggested a run tomorrow, brilliant Grin

Should I try this?

Gensola · 11/04/2024 07:36

happier I remember it being quite nice, I was in a phase of trying to eat porridge at the time and tried a few different ones. It also had some chopped walnuts on it, now that I think of it.

We are on our way to airport - new food plan implemented already: Greek yoghurt, sprinkle of nuts and chia seeds and a kiwi for breakfast. 2 hard boiled eggs stowed in my bag for snack, lunch may be tricky as not sure what the tiny local airport here will have. DH is making chicken and Mediterranean veg skewers for dinner with green salad.

dreading weigh in tomorrow 😄🥴

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/04/2024 08:43

You will have plane bloat tomorrow gen. Best leave it a day. Safe flight hOme

mm That porridge sounds nice

no Gym today. Mucking out and walking. Unless I go later.

im so tired through. Didn’t realise how exhausted until
im off

Isn't the week flying?

Gensola · 12/04/2024 07:52

136 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 ok this is the wake up call I needed. gutted as I had gotten to 128 before December and feel I’ve just undone all the hard work.

Hopefully it will come off quickly.

Happierwithouthim · 12/04/2024 11:22

It's all about perspective isn't it, if I could get there all my dreams would've come true Grin

You're post holiday though that'll account for a large chunk of it

Gensola · 12/04/2024 11:53

I'm 5'2" Smile

Gensola · 17/04/2024 13:08

I say I’m 5’2 but I’m really 5’1 and a bit 😂
Have stuck to the HBD plan so far - you’re allowed 1 treat meal a week which can include booze so that was DH birthday celebration. Otherwise it’s been clean eating and no snacks. Will weigh tomorrow - have been waiting for birthday carbs to wear off.
how is everyone?

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/04/2024 06:30

I’m still having a digestive a day (or 2). Need to get food seriously sorted. No crisps though
been to the gym regularly so will get my Forbes back and reduce food.

OP posts:
Gensola · 18/04/2024 06:51

Crisps and cheese are my downfall. that and white wine 😂

Happierwithouthim · 18/04/2024 08:56

Not much taller so gen and you have that condition that you hold water don't you?

I've a pocket door into my en-suite, up to this week my scales has been in other bathroom but I'd it in my en-suite since weekend, ds closed pocket door too tight and now I can't get in to my en-suite at all. Luckily I'd bought new toothbrushes and have toiletries in main bathroom cabinet. So the point of this is I can't weigh at the moment! 165lbs yesterday morning.

I'm gone very picky with chocolate I need to snap out of it, dd's birthday on Sat and have chocolate covered oreo bites instead of a cake for her, after that I'm banning myself from eating chocolate. Two spoons of chocolate hazelnut spread before bed last night Blush

Bf asked me yesterday how long I plan to stay taking ozempic. Lots of people think you stay on it for life, financially that's not an option for me. But I need to lose another 1.5stone to be happy with my weight, and my exercise is improving but my diet has fallen by the wayside. My meals are ok but I'm adding in snacks, not having much veg, I need to shake myself and cope on.

Gensola · 19/04/2024 08:30

@Happierwithouthim I didn’t think it was supposed to be a lifelong thing, do some people really stay on it that long?
argh re the en-suite - will you have to get someone in to bust the door down?!
we are planning a long stay in NI this summer before flying out to the US for my works start date in mid Aug, I can’t wait to go home to see the family. I think NI will always be home to me no matter where I live.
no change on scales - think DH birthday meal was obvs too much for loss, will need to rethink the “treat meal” concept of the Human Being Diet if I don’t see movement soon.
I’ve been coasting the last 4 months myself with so much going on, let snacks and wine creep in etc - want to try and get it sorted by my birthday in June.

Happierwithouthim · 19/04/2024 09:00

I'm tempted to put ds in through the window because I think it might be easier to sort from the other side but what if it isn't and then he's stuck in there? Hmm will see when bf is over tonight if he can figure it out.

I think you're right about home, I can never say I'm from the county I live in, always from where I grew up, and I've been longer here now than I was there.

Yes people stay on it for life, but if you're diabetic it's covered by longterm illness card but I pay €145 a month for it.

Pity treat meal was too much, probably what kept you motivated to stay strict on the plan.
