Any big losers up for it?! I did it on here back in the day and we had a really supportive thread going that massively helped.

Sadly medication and bereavements have seen most of mine go back on and it needs to come off again so here I am. I’m 18lbs down since my highest point last time and want a good run up to Christmas to go into 2024.

Would be great to be joined by others in the same boat so we can get the weight off and crack keeping it off once and for all.

I’m in!

Ive been intermittent fasting and low carb for the past few weeks, down from 20st 5lbs to 19st 7lbs. Want to get to 11st 7lbs so a long way to go get!

I’m 5’7 and 33 so I really want to lose this weight before I hit peri.

Seaitoverthere · 11/11/2023 14:53

Welcome @Sunshinebuttercupsrainbows and great start! I’m kind of intermittent fasting though have just started new meds and seeing if I can tolerate the morning dose without eating. I find not eating early helps regulate my appetite a bit.

Hiya, I’m one of your old gang! It was all going swimmingly (more or less) until lockdowns. Since then it’s been very tough.

Feels like as good a time as any for a fresh start 😀

Seaitoverthere · 11/11/2023 17:17

Hellooooo @Hidingthegoodchocolate , great to see you 😀I think lockdown did us all over. We know it can be done and agree with you that now is as good a time as any .

Today has gone well so far. Waddled around the block and am looking forward to Burnt Aubergine Chilli for tea.

I’m going to find it much harder this time as am menopausal now and have inflammatory arthritis, a fucked hip, knee and foot and Rheumtologist chucked in possible Fibromyalgia for good measure at last appointment. I can’t change any of that though so am going to get on with it rather than feel sorry for myself as I have been doing.

Hidingthegoodchocolate · 11/11/2023 17:30

Also team menopause. Grr.

Cauliflower soup for tea tonight (re-establishing the love for my slow cooker).

Noshowlomo · 11/11/2023 17:33

I’m in! I took “before” photos of myself this morning and I am a BEAST! Christ.
I would like to lose 50lb to start and then more, but if I say 100lb it’s too overwhelming

Motnight · 11/11/2023 17:35

I am in! An oldie from last time. I was successful....then lockdown hit. I am going to take it one lb at a time.

Seaitoverthere · 11/11/2023 17:41

Welcome @Motnight ! One pound at a time is the way forward. I don’t think we should beat ourselves up one bit for weight gain over lockdown, it was a very weird time and now seems really quite surreal looking back .

A virtual 🍸to better, slimmer and healthier times ahead.

I weighed myself today for the first time in forever. 250lbs. I'm only 5'5". I can't believe it...except, well, I can.

I've just joined the Wegovy thread after placing an order. I know I need the chemical help to do this. My plan also involves reviving my walking habit, one PT session a week, 3 well balanced modest meals a day.

I'd be happy with a 96lbs loss to get me to 11st, but 100 is a nice round number isn't it?

Seaitoverthere · 11/11/2023 18:22

@MyGodMyThighs you are the same weight as me and pretty much the same height. 100lbs is nice and round so I am running with that , well waddling for now.

I did toy with the idea of Wegovy and Rheumatologist kind of suggested to GP that possibly I might be eligible for it but I am focusing on getting my Rheumatology meds sorted for now - am a bit worried that as dose increases I might react to them, time will tell. I’ll be really interested in how you get on.

MyGodMyThighs · 11/11/2023 20:49

Meds can be such a balancing act can't they @Seaitoverthere . Hope it goes ok for you.

I'm coming off meds I've been taking for over a year. It's a very very slow taper, so hoping it won't destabilise me.

Waddling, ha! Yep that'll be me out in the rain tomorrow morning!

crazyBadger · 11/11/2023 21:14

I'm in

Lost 4 1/2 stone a few years ago and worked out that I put it all back on at about 1/2lb a week...

Dont want to be fat and fifty

Doggymummar · 11/11/2023 21:17

I've lost 5 stone this year, another three at least to go. I've done Fast 800 and Rybselsus which has been simple. Been off it for a month or so and gained 2lb so have started back today. I wish you well and lots of will power.

Seaitoverthere · 12/11/2023 07:41

Welcome @crazyBadger and @Doggymummar .

@crazyBadger sensible to get it sorted now. I did just before 50 but unfortunately things went pear shaped and I am now over 50 and having to sort it again.

@Doggymummar , that’s brilliant, well done. I hadn’t heard of Rybselsus before.

I feel sick this morning which I think is new meds so a quiet day in order with plain food.

Doggymummar · 12/11/2023 09:36

Have a great day everyone.

Hidingthegoodchocolate · 13/11/2023 09:08

It’s a brand new week! Hope everyone has a great day. Blowing a gale here, definitely a porridge morning.

Seaitoverthere · 13/11/2023 10:16

Really blowy here today. Fitbit on charge and I am determined to have a good week.

Seaitoverthere · 13/11/2023 17:44

Lazy cooking evening with rest of yesterday’s roast turkey, new potatoes and veg. Hope everyone has had an OK day back to the grindstone.

OP posts:
MyGodMyThighs · 14/11/2023 22:12

It was really windy here yesterday too. Got out for a walk and came back looking like worzel gummage.

I am aching a little from my walk. It’s hilly here so no walk is ever just a stroll. Glad to be getting back into it but it shocked me how hard I found it now I’m this big and out of condition.

Seaitoverthere · 15/11/2023 07:53

@Noshowlomo so sorry , I missed your post. Welcome 🙂
@MyGodMyThighs well done for getting out there. I am walking to doctors for bloods this morning. Pretty much round the corner but my mobility is really really poor currently. Hope weight loss will help a bit but it won’t solve. Really hoping new meds help too and I can tolerate them.

RainbowandStars · 15/11/2023 09:48

Hello I'm in, also one of the old gang. Need a reset, start afresh and take it one day at a time.

Seaitoverthere · 15/11/2023 11:35

Hello @RainbowandStars . One day at a time is very much my approach.

OP posts:
BarborousBarbra · 15/11/2023 12:04

May I join? I've already lost around 3 of the 6/7 stones I need to in the past 6 months, but I'm starting to flag, so I could use the motivation.

Doggymummar · 15/11/2023 13:23

Course you CAN, come on in

Seaitoverthere · 15/11/2023 13:32

Absolutely @BarborousBarbra , welcome! What a great loss. It’s really hard keeping motivation going when there’s a lot to do isn’t it? KOKO was the mantra on our old thread, keep on keeping on.
