Any big losers up for it?! I did it on here back in the day and we had a really supportive thread going that massively helped.

Sadly medication and bereavements have seen most of mine go back on and it needs to come off again so here I am. I’m 18lbs down since my highest point last time and want a good run up to Christmas to go into 2024.

Would be great to be joined by others in the same boat so we can get the weight off and crack keeping it off once and for all.

Friend brought tub of brownies round, her cakes are always delicious. I had lunch and wasn’t hungry so didn’t have one. I think fewer carbs helps regulate my appetite.

2.8lbs off this week.

Hi everyone - please can I join? I’ve been lurking for a while but wanted to know I would fully commit before posting. I have been a bit flakey at staying on groups in the past especially when my weight loss is not progressing so didn’t want to be a fly by night!

Had a weight loss appointment yesterday at my gp and I feel more optimistic about this attempt and aiming for a slowly but surely approach this time. I can be a bit all or nothing!

Anyway sorry to waffle - these are my stats.

51 yrs / Female/ 5ft 10 / 17st 4 lbs/ 110 kilos or 240 lbs

Would ideally like to get down to 12 stone /76kg / 168lbs

Initial target to lose 1 st / 14 lbs or 6kg by New year

Think you are all amazing!

Seaitoverthere · 17/11/2023 08:03

Take a seat @Cocteautriplet . One of the things we found on previous threads back in the day in the pre pandemic world was deliberately eating for maintenance when we needed a break or life got shitty .

It is hard to keep going when you have a lot to lose as you know it is going to take many months so it’s about doing whatever you can to keep overall progress going even if individual weeks don’t go to plan.

I’m really pleased we have all got going before Christmas to start next year with a bit of loss under our belts and hopefully minimise the Christmas weight gain.

Thanks so much Seeitover, good day today. Really tired but managed to keep on track and resisted the carb cravings. I’ve got a bit of a cold atm which has reduced my sense of smell and made me a bit nauseous so I’ve naturally been eating a bit less over the last few days. If only every day was as simple! Anyone got any tips for pms cravings … these slay me and I wondered if there are any good supplements or tips to reduce them?

Seaitoverthere · 18/11/2023 10:53

Glad it was a good day, mine was too. Sorry you are unwell. 2 things spring to mind for pm cravings - pot of veg soup which is my plan but hasn’t been put into practice yet. Or alternatively a box of bits that are low calorie that you have planned into your day.

Maybe up protein a bit at lunch and leave out short acting carbs to spike blood sugar as little as possible and keep well hydrated.

You could do some research on Berberine it's a natural appetite suppressant, I bought it to get through the wegovy shortages, but it was all hype and I never had a problem getting it so I returned it.

Seaitoverthere · 22/11/2023 06:07

How is every doing? I’m finding lower. Arb breakfast and lunch helps keep hunger at bay a fair bit.

OP posts:
Seaitoverthere · 22/11/2023 06:59

Lower carb

OP posts:
Doggymummar · 22/11/2023 08:47

If it's lower carb it's probably higher protein and fat, both of which keep you fuller longer. A well done English breakfast is the perfect low carb start to the day and keeps me going till dinner

Seaitoverthere · 22/11/2023 08:58

Yes I was going for more protein and the lower carb was a by product of that. I’m finding I can make it to lunch time without eating but need to take meds so eat mid morning -feta and cucumber or Alpro and blueberries.

Great @OhGoOnThenIfYouInsist ! How are you doing?

OP posts:
OhGoOnThenIfYouInsist · 22/11/2023 12:06

Good thankyou
Seriously in need of hints/tips/motivation
I'm sorting out all of my gym stuff and will try and get my sorry derriere out of bed early tomorrow to go for an hours power walk to start to get into a bit of a routine

Seaitoverthere · 22/11/2023 13:14

I can’t really walk at the moment but found early morning was best for me when I used to run - I’d imagine I was astral projecting or something and was really in bed 😃

Sent builders to the chippy as they have been working hard moving heavy stuff today and am eating cottage cheese and rice cakes instead .

4lb off this week.

OP posts:
chalkyc2 · 24/11/2023 08:34

Hey hundred clubbers! I'm around on this board but just noticed this thread. I'm a way in - 80lb down since April - 37 to go. My motivation is all the exercise I can now do - and the teen kids I want to stay fit for!

It's bloody hard though. Bloody BORING! I feel like the most dull person to be around. But I'm determined to get to my target and determined to stay there. Fingers crossed...and am defo here to chat as it keeps me focused and going!

Seaitoverthere · 24/11/2023 08:41

Welcome @chalkyc2 and huge congratulations on your brilliant loss. I can’t walk feet far at the moment but have started medication which I am hoping will reduce inflammation in time and maybe gradually let me move a bit more if it can get my foot more normal but I will probably need a hip replacement as have hip dysplasia which wasn’t diagnosed till my early 50s and I probably didn’t do myself any favours running on it. So for now I am having to do it by diet which is so much harder but is what it is.

OP posts:
chalkyc2 · 24/11/2023 08:51

Well done @Seaitoverthere - just diet is fine - don't they say it's mostly down to diet anyway ? I'm lucky enough to have a peloton which I find great for low impact exercise and exercise in the privacy of your own home. I've recently started playing hockey again after 15 years and I feel like I might need a hip replacement! My body is not used to high impact exercise!

I started following Fast 800 basic principles. Kind of still do follow them but I don't really calorie count - basically I've cut out sugar, bread, pasta and rice and I watch portion sizes. Protein and veg are go...

Seaitoverthere · 24/11/2023 09:15

I think it’s supposed to be 80% diet thankfully ! That’s very impressive and brave to play hockey 😀

I’m reducing carbs, sugar and gluten and using Nutracheck. Early days but 6.8ls in last couple of weeks and am really really pleased with that. I think I am going to have to fight my corner a bit with my hip as will probably need to persuade them that I am losing weight as don’t want them to say go away and lose some weight and then we will put you on list given length of list.

OP posts:
Seaitoverthere · 27/11/2023 11:06

Don’t know if anyone else is interested but I am setting myself a small challenge for December to keep focused over Christmas- 3 lbs off I think as if I don’t there is a chance I will put on a fair bit potentially and don’t wa t to have even more to deal with in the New Year.

OP posts:
RainbowandStars · 27/11/2023 12:47

Sounds like an achievable challenge @Seaitoverthere and well done on the loss so far. Good reminder about eating at maintenance as well, when life gets tough.
I've been taking it slowly, making small changes and now I'm logging all my food. Small steps, but in the right direction.
