I'm just curious what others would think my likely weight is from this picture. I'm 5ft 2 for reference.

16-18. Typically 18 in jeans, 16 tops. I wear a lot of dresses and the vast majority are 16. I'm wearing a 14 dress today but it is stretchy Jersey material.

I’m slightly heavier and a wee bit taller and wear a 24! I thought you looked a lot smaller than me, but wondered if it was the photo, but apparently not (my mind is blown)

I find this fascinating with the wild variations on the weight guessing but I think we have an issue when it comes to recognising weight. (I've changed my username as talking absolute figures about my weight scares me!).

I was 19st 13lbs just before COVID hit in Jan 2020 and that was my heaviest. It has been a long journey weightloss journey and I am now 13st 3lbs so have lost 6st 10lbs in 3 years (I intend to get down to 10st). However in the same way I didn't think I was "THAT BIG" I also cannot recognise the losing of weight when I look at my body in the mirror in my underwear. It still kinda of looks the same to me.

I know I have lost weight as I weigh myself (and keep having to buy clothes to fit) but when I look in the mirror I cannot see that I have lost appox 33% of my body weight.

I know this is a "me" issue but what is it - body blindness? I can recognise it on others but not me. Can't work out it is a denial thing that my mind tricks myself into not seeing the weight gain as a coping mechanism.

Just read the update! Blow me down. A lot of that has to be muscle, I’m six inches taller and if I was 16 stone I’d be a ball.

I think you carried the weight well; I wouldn't have put you as that heavy. For comparison I'm 5' 1" in this photo, weighing 9st 13 lb (Salter digital scales so I'm assuming they're accurate). I look and feel like a right heffalump.

If you Google My Body Gallery you can see pictures of hundreds of women at your chosen height and weight, it's fascinating! I use it to see what I'd look like if I lost a stone, 2 stone etc. There are wild variations!

OP's story (shape + height) is making me realise my friend must be nearly 20 stone. Friend is taller but looks 'rounder' than OP's pic, too.

Friend mentioned that the Fitbit said she burnt > 3000 kcal on a day when she did 2 hours walking which sounds crazy ; friend declared the Fitbit must be completely wrong. But could make sense at 18-20 stone.

I also don't perceive myself to be 6 stone lighter than OP. Does that mean I look very heavy for my actual weight (I wonder).

If I put my measurements into BodyGallery, I look exactly like those women, with same bust-waist-hips + height. Which are only numbers I value.

I find this so hard with clothes size. I'm 14 stone and a 5.5 I wear a 16 sometimes a 14 but not often! Honestly though I think you've got a nice shape. But my preference is for curves and a bit of fat.

I would've said somewhere between 14-15st max, probably closer to 14st. You definitely don't look your actual weight.

But then, these are just numbers anyway! We should all just strive for feeling good and being happy and healthy in our bodies is my mantra now.

I would have said 16 or so stone, my friend is 5 feet 4 and weighs 18 stone and you look similar to her.

But I doubt you look the same. My point is that if posters are genuinely opening this thread, viewing that picture, and thinking ‘this woman looks just over 10 stone’ then they must be baffled when they see a woman who actually is and looks 10 stone.

I’m genuinely surprised at your weight. I’m 5’10 and at 13 stone nearly pretty flabby, quite a belly. I look big. I would t stand next to you and feel like we were so different in bmi. You are carrying it well
