Hello, so have just ordered Huel, have tried exante before which did work afew years ago, but weight has slowly crept up to a new high! Saw advert for huel and spur of the moment have ordered it. Has anyone else tried it and or doing it at the moment.
I'm starting a thread now as when I did exante we had a fab support group on here.
Current weight is 12st 9 would like to lose at least a stone.
Need motivation as just feel stuck in a rut! Can't seem to shake it off, I don't know if it's cause of age 46 and menopausal or just life has got on top of me!

@Bizzyone yep I would say so there is texture to it, I've so far only had the cajun one though.
So weighed this morn and 12st 6 that's 3lbs down from Monday chuffed with that

@par05 yes, I changed jobs and was very much "eat crap on the go" which was making me put weight on. I dropped it, but never dropped the huel!

@Bizzyonethey taste great to me, made with rice, quinoa, pasta so those expected textures. One tip, don't sit there analysing it first time you try. You know like if you try a fake meat burger or fake bacon you're instantly comparing it to the real thing? So if you have the madras and instantly compare it to your favourite Indian, don't! They taste good in their own right. The mac and cheese is my favourite.

Bizzyone · 28/04/2023 21:23

Ok you have both definitely convinced me 😅 Im fine with it not being like full fat versions as long as theres sone texture to it 🥰 just need to create a new email to get the money off code now 😬😅

dwightschrutebeets · 28/04/2023 21:36

My husband has lost alot of weight from them. Unfortunately I just couldn't get on with the texture

Play around with the amount of water you add too. Some say 250ml, some say 200 depending on flavour. I prefer it with less than they say and just go by eye now. It's much easier to add a bit more water later, but if it's too mushy or soupy you can microwave it and it gets thicker again.

Bizzyone · 29/04/2023 19:57

@PsychoHotSauce fab tip thanks!!

par05 · 29/04/2023 23:28

Let us know how you get on @Bizzyone and fab tip @PsychoHotSauce I'll try that too as have found the pasta pot a bit watery. So day 6 haven't had huel today, went out with kids and had a cheeky mcds and my favourite toffee latte! But did stick to chicken nuggets and no fries, and then had peanut butter toast with tea later. Still don't feel like snacking in between though so that's good .

Hi all happy may day! Got to be honest haven't had huel last 2 days but weighed this morning and am 12st 5. Happy with that as am also due on period tomorrow. Back on huel today. How are you all doing?

OP posts:
Thatwouldbeme · 01/05/2023 13:17

Well I've not lost anything this week, I'm a bit gutted to be honest. Thought I would have lost something, I upped my walking stuck to the hule drink the only thing I did which may have affected me was I only had 1 drink with 1 scoop and a evening meal maybe not enough food. I don't know. Will keep going

par05 · 01/05/2023 13:59

Could well be @Thatwouldbeme I'm drinking more water too so I think my 1st week loss is due to that too but I'll take it lol. Keep going 💪 we got this

Day 1 of huel for me. Already struggling with the shake I made for breakfast. I've come to read this for some motivation.
I have about a stone to lose but more it's for my energy levels 😞 I'm just shattered all the time at the moment

RuffledKestrel · 02/05/2023 17:13

I've used huel on and off for years. I do find I drink a lot more when having the shakes. I do prefer to make the shakes with less water so they are thicker, but drink them over the course of an hour or so. Rather than gulping it down in a few minutes.
I think I primarily lose weight when on huel as the shakes stop me feeling like a snack.

I don't like any of their quick food meals though 😅

par05 · 02/05/2023 23:10

@Hereforthecomments23 keep at it, it has stopped me snacking in between and I'm hoping to lose at least a stone and a half to get myself to a healthy bmi. Plus as you said, hopefully more energy!
@RuffledKestrel that's a good idea, as I drunk my afternoon shake really quickly and felt bloated afterwards!

Starting on Huel in the morning. I am hoping this is what I need when I’m on the go and too lazy to prep a decent breakfast or lunch.

How are you all incorporating it into your diet?

Hereforthecomments23 · 04/05/2023 07:12

I've brought it for breakfast and lunch to work, one rtd bottle and one bottled mix of powder, so far yesterday I managed half the bottle of rtd 😂 I'm finding the sensory element of swallowing it hard work weirdly. I'm sure it's a mental block rather than from taste as I don't find it horrible or anything.

RuffledKestrel · 04/05/2023 08:11

I tend to start drinking my shake (2ish scoops) around 10:30am. I've never been much of a breakfast person so it's about this time I start getting hungry. Generally I won't feel like a full lunch at "lunch time" so around 2pm I'll have some fruit and/or some rice cakes. This usually does me until dinner at around 6pm.

QuickNameChangeForMeToday · 04/05/2023 09:56

I have had half a ready to drink bottle so far this morning and feel full. Have popped it back in the fridge and will probably have it late afternoon as that’s my time where I seem to go off plan.

Chicken salad in the fridge for lunch and stirfry for dinner so the plans there, I just need to stick to it 😳.

par05 · 05/05/2023 23:04

The shakes make me feel really full too @QuickNameChangeForMeToday I tend to have one in my dinner break, I've sort of stuck to it, finishing week 2, someday I dont have a shake/meal other days I have one, I'm calorie counting trying to stick to 1200 to 1400 a day.

Weighed this morning, and 12st 3 so that's another 3lbs down, chuffed it's slow but steady, hoping to keep this going! How's everyone else getting on.

OP posts:
Thatwouldbeme · 08/05/2023 12:03

My Monday weigh in and I have lost 2lb😁, so I'm happy with that.

par05 · 08/05/2023 15:02

Brilliant @Thatwouldbeme whoop you got this! Had a bit of a cheat day yesterday but back on it today, I feel I have a much better outlook now, and don't beat myself up if I have a cheat day!

OP posts:
Thatwouldbeme · 08/05/2023 15:37

Life would be boring without the odd cheat day 😁

par05 · 14/05/2023 18:10

Hi how's everyone doing! I've lost 1lb this week, going much slower now although I had wine yesterday so have probably put it back on🫣 ran out of the ready made huel drinks and tried the salted carmel powder one and it was so grainy! Couldn't drink it any tips to make it less grainy?

OP posts:
Bizzyone · 15/05/2023 07:17

Morning! Have been losing a stead couple of pounds each week with some treats in there (hello weekend wine haha!).. am ok with that as have a lot more to lose and havent felt too deprived... am still just doing 1 shake a day as otherwise feel like I will miss chewing!

@par05 I find the salted caramel one grainy too! Ive made half a cup of coffee this morning and let it go cold so am adding it with loads of ice to salted caramel shake in hopes it gives me an iced coffee type drink and I wont notice the graininess as much?! 😅 Chocolate shake definitely my favourite but Ive paid for the salted caramel so dammit will use it haha

TheresaBackinbud · 15/05/2023 07:28

How many of you got headaches when you first started Huel? I did LighterLife years ago and I remember feeling very sick and headachy which was apparently “detoxing”.
