Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes 👍

Good morning, and good luck today with the weigh ins.

I've pretty much maintained since last week but with limited exercise and my hormones/period affecting my food and drink choices, I'm ok with that!

This next week should be better though!

buzzofthebumblebee · 22/02/2023 08:05

Welcome back Gin & AutisticLego. Hope you both feel you've had a nice break.

You're on a roll SingaporeSlinky - well done you!! Keep at it while the momentum is there.

Good news for loss ndo4000 but bad news on stress. Hope all OK.

I'm down today, but weight fluctuates +/- I can't say what my definitive weight is. But today is def my lowest this year at 11 3. Started the month at 11 7. It was 11 5 yesterday. The overall trend is down !

Raining and miserable weather.

SingaporeSlinky · 22/02/2023 08:12

@Weatherwax13 it’s early, but I’m confused by your numbers. Is the TW actually the CW? Feels so good to get into a different number bracket, so well done!

still catching up, will reply more later

SingaporeSlinky · 22/02/2023 09:55

I’ve skipped the gym today. I knew I’d feel the effects of the Romanian deadlifts in yesterday’s class. Aching hamstrings now, so having a rest day.

Back to usual yoghurt lunch. Noticed that Asda had put a limit on raspberries yesterday! It said there were intermittent supply issues, so max 3 packs per person, which is still plenty though.

Haven’t decided on dinner yet, might do tuna steak with spinach.

AutisticLegoLover · 22/02/2023 10:02

Morning all and congratulations on your losses.
60kg dead on for me this morning. That's 400g more than yesterday which makes no sense as I didn't eat much yesterday. Maybe water weight.
First day of Lent today and I'm wondering if I can give up anything. Possibly sweets, chocolate and crisps.

TheRealHousewife · 22/02/2023 10:06

Good Morning WOW’sers

I’m 9st 7lb on the nose. Back to what I weighed on the 8th. I’m going to be on the button this last week as I’d like to end the month on an overall loss rather than maintaining. I’m pleased I didn’t cook bangers and mash as planned last night … just had pancakes, treacle and a splash of fresh cream. I’ve got to say they were worth the calories and I regret nothing 😋

For those asking about cals in pancakes. I worked mine out rather than relying on online numbers. There are just too many variables. GF flour is 350 cals per 100g so it’s heavy going numbers wise. I worked out that for the 2 I had (which were fluffy rather than crepe type ones as I was out voted😬) the calorie content was around 400 calories! They weren’t big either. Totally delicious.

@Weatherwax13 Thats great progress and so very motivating to be in a lower number bracket! 👍👏⭐️

@ndo4000 Sorry to read you’re stressed. Hope you’re ok!

@SingaporeSlinky Well done on your loss! 👍👏⭐️

@ginsparkles @AutisticLegoLover How was the holiday? Great to see you both back 😊

@buzzofthebumblebee Great progress and as you say as long as the general trend is down you’re onto a winner! 👍👏

Menu
Meal 1 - Apple, banana, pecans, chopped dates & Greek yoghurt.
Meal 2 - Beef Stew.
Tea, black coffee and water.

Last week of February Ladies … let’s make it count 🤞⭐️👍

The holiday was hard work but lovely, thank you. I've been exhausted since coming back. I find being the only one responsible for everything and everyone extremely draining. Im glad we went at the start of half term so that I've got time to recover before school goes back. I need to get back to eating better and I've missed my usual daily miles.

I was surprised to find that my tankini was now rather loose. Any more off and I'll need a new one. My slim fit mint velvet jeans were far too tight when I first got them just before lockdown and I had to suck in to get them done up. Now there's a good 4 inches at the waist and they are looser in the leg. I need new bras. My watch is really loose. My coat has a big empty space where my belly used to be. It's a really old super dry one with the triple zip option and the snuggest zip option is broken so I can't do it up any tighter. All good things!

60kg today, next mini goal is 58kg. Lent is 7 weeks so my goal by Easter is 56kg. 4kg in 7 weeks should be doable I think?

Can anyone recommend any weights for toning at home? I don't have much money to spend on them and don't need anything fancy. I want to tone my arms mainly and need to look at how to tone my belly.

slytherinabout · 22/02/2023 10:59

Hi everyone. I've been watching and lurking for a while but now joining in 🙈

I'm 11 stone 9 and want to lose 2 stone. I had a baby 6 months ago and put on a stone during the pregnancy.

I'm going to try to do at least half an hour of exercise day, have smaller portions and give up cake for lent (too much cake on maternity leave!). I've just done Zumba for the first time, only in my living room from YouTube but it's a start.

Cloudberries123 · 22/02/2023 11:39

Woohoo welcome @slytherinabout mine is 7 months. Isn't it a fun ride? 😁 I've more to lose overall than you but happy to do that stone together.

AutisticLegoLover I put on my maternity swimsuit the other day and it was loose! I know I'm losing at a snail's pace but that was really encouraging.

Sounds like a good holiday but I always find it hard work as well as enjoyable.

Good job listening to your body Singapore Limits on fresh produce here too but raspberries were actually on sale in our local Co-op yesterday!

RealHousewife that yoghurt breakfast sounds delish!

Few hundred grams gain for me this week but I'm not too bothered.

SW: 100.4kg
CW: 96kg
Mini goal - stay under the blooming 95kg! No sugar Lent might be the trick.

Breakfast - ham and cheese tortilla wrap, coffee

Snack - 4 cheese twists, water galore

Lunch - 2x fried eggs, five bean salad. Should probably eat some fruit

Dinner - DP cooking so should be good!

ImALittlePea · 22/02/2023 12:52

Well done to everyone who WoWed today - some amazing results and accountability as always! @Weatherwax13 @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo @ndo4000

@buzzofthebumblebee @TheRealHousewife @Cloudberries123

What a roll you're on @SingaporeSlinky, definitely deserving of the gold star 🌟

Sorry to hear things are stressful @ndo4000, I hope things are better soon.

I hope you had a lovely holiday @ginsparkles @AutisticLegoLover (and nice NSVs there too!)

@Fara22 great challenge. DS has decided to give up squash for lent, bless him. I feel like I'd like to give something up, but I don't know what...

Welcome @slytherinabout I hope you find posting and the posters on here as supportive as I have ❤️

No pancake regrets over here either! 😁

Enjoying having an empty house today - looks like I won't get it for much longer as DD's childcare provider is closing 😭 so making the most of it!

Lunch - cup-a-soup special 🤩 250 cals
Dinner - jacket potato, cheese omelette and beans 724 cals
Will probably have a bowl of Greek yoghurt and fruit after as got a shift tonight.

Got the Garmin now, can't seem to sync it to MFP (yet) but it's on and tracking steps so that's something for now. Interested to see how many steps I'll cover on a Wednesday night shift 🙂

TheRealHousewife · 22/02/2023 13:11

Welcome to the thread @slytherinabout and congratulations on your baby 🥳 The ladies on these threads are super supportive and helpful. I'm sure you'll fit right in!

Enjoy your quiet & peaceful day @ImALittlePea 👍❤️

All this talk of stuff that's too big has reminded me; I've recently tried on my swimming costume to find it hanging around the bummage area! As OH is taking me away to a spar for a couple of days next week (birthday) I've treated myself to a Fantasie costume. Pricy but supports and fits beautifully so totally worth it!

Cold, dark, gloomy, windy and looks like rain here. Looking forward to the ☀️ showing it's face!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome 🥰 Well done everyone on your journeys so far!

buzzofthebumblebee · 22/02/2023 15:41

Your post made me smile @TheRealHousewife (for my naughty mind I'm afraid ... until I realised what you meant by fantasie costume!)

Forgot to post my food. Trying to mix it up. Bored.
B - scrambled eggs, mushrooms & spinach
L - chicken (before I remembered it was Ash Weds), leftover braised red cabbage, homemade veg soup - not as good as yours TheReal ; )
D - roast salmon & roast veg
S - 3 dates & dip in almond butter

MKD1 · 22/02/2023 17:12

Is anyone on here doin 16:8? Is everyone doing their own thing? I need motivation. Wondering if I can join this thread?

AutisticLegoLover · 22/02/2023 17:28

@MKD1 welcome! And welcome to @slytherinabout too and any other newcomers. Yes, I do a vague IF and need to get back to it today. I don't usually eat after dinner at 5-6pm but I eat breakfast at 7.30am ish so I'm only doing a 14:10 at best. I could go without breakfast until later but I want to model good healthy eating behaviours to dc by eating with them at meal times. Ds commented the other day that I'd lost weight and that he doesn't see me eat normal meals so I'm making an effort to be more normal. He's only 8 and I didn't think he'd notice too much but I was wrong.

TheRealHousewife · 22/02/2023 17:30

Hi @buzzofthebumblebee ... I do sexies too but generally don't share 😬😅. I naturally do 17/7 - I eat 2 meals between 12:00-19:00. I can't face food pre noon. I think we can all get into a rut food wise. What main ingredients do you like and I'll see if I have any recipes to share.

OP posts:
Weatherwax13 · 22/02/2023 18:03

@SingaporeSlinky yes you're absolutely right, I meant CW
MN is so glitchy for me and I'm having real trouble correcting typos!

greenspaces4peace · 22/02/2023 18:05

@TheRealHousewife i do lots of online shopping and figured out the fantasie bit they have a lovely range!! good quality i believe.
@buzzofthebumblebee i have braised red cabbage on the go as well! i'm trying to up my vitamins and minerals and it's suppose to be good for magnesium.
@MKD1 pretty religious on only eating between 0930-1730. zero snacking in the evening. it's very rare i screw up my meal planning and end up with eating past 1800. dh won't last one second beyond 0930 though.

same weight. patience is a virtue.

Weatherwax13 · 22/02/2023 18:07

@TheRealHousewife yes, that one change from 8 to 7 is very motivating:)
Everyone's doing so well
@AutisticLegoLover I remember so well coming back from holidays feeling exhausted when my kids were younger. It can be like a military campaign organising them.

AutisticLegoLover · 22/02/2023 18:11

I'm up to 1436 calories today and dinner was slightly late so just finished. Cheese toastie. Not very exciting. That's it for today now if I'm going to stick to my IF time. Tomorrow is swimming day for Ds and I'll have to eat around 4pm or around 7pm neither of which are ideal.

Is anyone doing anything for Lent? I'm
A very lapsed Catholic but do like to do something for Lent. If I give up chocolate I eat more sweets and vice versa so I'll have to give up both. I'm not sure what will happen if I give up crisps too. I don't eat a lot of them and last night ate a big bag of space raiders but found they didn't hit the spot really so I won't bother again.

Weatherwax13 · 22/02/2023 18:15

@greenspaces4peace I'm a bit short on virtues😂particularly patience! You're doing really well

TheRealHousewife · 22/02/2023 18:17

@greenspaces4peace I agrée Fantasie havé lovely quality items, especially for us busty wenches 😬

@AutisticLegoLover I don't tend to give anything up really but I do try to be on point. If I was to give anything up, alcohol is very easy for me. However we have quite a few family celebrations in March so it isn't practical to totally abstain.

Stew and dumplings in the oven. I didn't intend to have any but I've made a couple of gluten free ones ... fingers crossed they are edible 😋
