Hi All,
I’m going to be starting Saxenda today, hoping this will help me to overcome my awful eating habits at the moment, which has made be gain 2 stone in a year.
Any advice would be great!

I just upped my dose to 1.2 today. Hoping for the best. It did definitely wear off by the end of the week and my appetite was coming back.

alloutofcareunits · 21/11/2022 14:23

@MMC20 I started 12 days ago, stayed on 0.6 so far. Thankfully the 'ball in my stomach' feeling has gone along with the nausea so I'm not upping the dose in case it comes back, I'll hang on until I start feeling hungry again. Good luck!

mathis2006 · 21/11/2022 18:23

Anyone feeling very irritable?

mathis2006 · 22/11/2022 15:30

So weigh in today after a week. I lost 5lb, really pleases. I have felt really dizzy and nauseous today though.

lostinabook · 22/11/2022 15:39

Been on it for 3 months and lost 7kg, got up to the 3ml dose but back down at 2.4 as I had a week of bad side effects

Aside from constipation, it has been very useful

Londonnight · 23/11/2022 15:26

Well, I have just signed up for Saxenda with Boots, just waiting to see if it's approved. I have a couple of health issues, hopefully that doesn't stop me getting it.
I did ask my GP today whether they would prescribe it and he said no due to the cost of it, so I felt I had no choice but to try to buy it instead.

Fingers crossed I am accepted and it works for me.

Bumblebeehum · 23/11/2022 17:47

Just checking in after 1 week, 3lbs off with a lot of hunger (but determination not to waste this money, I need to see fast moving lbs!)

Ive seen a lot of posts when people up the dose and feel Ill which I wanted to avoid this week so have just gone up two clicks today, may increase again tomorrow.

Haven’t had the full feeling that I got first day, but managing to avoid snacking and big portions.

Have many have used Sax for big weight loss over a long period of time? I have such a long way to go, and was considering a gastric band. Who can I ask for advice on this? (Band or Sax?)

Carriemac · 25/11/2022 15:26

NC30112021 · 25/11/2022 19:48

Billythebear · 25/11/2022 20:51

Hi All,
Just checking back in, I have kept to the minimum dose of 0.6 and I have finally got rid of the nausea.
Lost 9lb so far, 3 weeks in! Need to lose another stone to be back at my happy weight!
Hows everyone getting on?

Well it varies on what dose works for you. A pen will lay some people 18 days ish and others a month or more.

I’m two weeks done and 7 - maybe 8lbs done. Need to buy better scales, mine are v old fashioned. Going to get new one soon that measures body fat etc… I tried to stay on 0.6 but after two days into the second week I was getting quite hungry so went up to next dose which was better ,
haven’t had any side effects at all though which is a great relief.

That's great! I started just two days ago and really struggling with the nausea. Fingers crossed it goes soon.

Shortpoet · 26/11/2022 19:33

9lb in 3 weeks is great.

what’s a typical day of food and exercise for you?

Try changing your dosing times. I have settled on about 6pm. Then I’m asleep by the time the nausea hits.

ChampagneCommunist · 27/11/2022 20:53

About 4lb gone in 8 days. Sticking with minimum dose for now, as (a) very little hunger (b) want to make it last.

Burping quite a lot, a little nausea, but all OK

NC30112021 · 27/11/2022 21:05

The side effects actually look terrifying. Is it worth the risk?

wizzywig · 27/11/2022 21:17

Hi can I ask what people's meal times are? I was told to stop eating at 2pm which is near impossible

AgathaMystery · 27/11/2022 21:21

I have my last meal at 5/6 ish.

Bumblebeehum · 29/11/2022 17:40

Why would you stop eating at 2pm? Is it about trying to fast?

I mostly skip breakfast (I know, but I have a Berocca), eat a light lunch at 1 and then dinner at 6.30 so my fast time is 7 to 1pm

ChampagneCommunist · 29/11/2022 21:06

I have an evening meal; not much else.

I am not hungry, but it's as if my mouth gets bored

Bumblebeehum · 30/11/2022 08:07

weekly check-in with another 2lbs off which takes me to 20lbs in 6 weeks (on Sax for 2 weeks). A bit gutted it’s not more this week, but had to go out for an anniversary meal last night. I’d rather have eaten normally, I’ve felt overly full all night!

SukeyBenedict · 30/11/2022 08:14

Well done!!

ChampagneCommunist · 01/12/2022 07:50

Does anyone know if you can get extra needles? A low dose is working for me, but I am worried I'll run out of needles

Did you order from Boots? If so then I messaged through the online doctor system to ask and they said yes. Took the Boots pharmacy that I then went to for the needles ages to accept that they should actually do what the online doctors said though.
