Hope tomorrow goes well @WorryMcGee 💗.

@sparklyglitterball god I hope the hormones settle! I gained about 3lb over the whole WFH pandemic thing, then maintained that until starting HRT, then BOOM.

I am still struggling with PF so didn’t run today - last week I did three, and ran on Monday. On days I am on campus I do 16-20k steps, plus loads of stairs, at least.

Good food day here, two poached eggs, one slice of toast, a Greek yoghurt, and a few gnocchi with spinach. I’m not a snacker, but my portions are generally too big, especially if DP cooks - he’s 6ft 5 and tends to give us equal plates!

Octopus45 · 15/09/2022 07:49

Hope everything goes well today @WorryMcGee .

Went round to see my honorary niece last night cause she's going away to uni today. Had pizza and cocktails. Delicious but it goes without saying that I'm avoiding the scales today. Sounds like you had a good day @Judystilldreamsofhorses

LBB2020 · 15/09/2022 07:54

Hope today goes well @WorryMcGee

ShakeItOff40 · 15/09/2022 09:52

Thinking of you today @WorryMcGee x

swallowedAfly · 17/09/2022 21:11

Hope things went well McGee

I've been awol again - mostly been too busy and then knackered with return to work.

My steps and calorie burn is up a lot compared to summer and I haven't increased, and think I've decreased, the amount I'm eating yet the scales are not shifting. I think the fact I'm not sleeping may be something to do with it.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/09/2022 22:05

@swallowedAfly it will come, steady does it!

DP is away for work for a fortnight so I plan to properly screw the nut here. I have a load of WW meals in the freezer which I will supplement with fresh veg. Usually we pretty much cook from scratch daily, but I am too lazy when it is just for me.

In other news I didn’t restart the mini pill when I finished the pack last week. I know the coil is in the right place from the strings and realistically it is going to be next year before I get this stupid scan. My boobs are back to normal and my tummy feels much flatter, although I have bled heavily since.

swallowedAfly · 17/09/2022 22:08

Fab news Judy. I think it's the right call.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/09/2022 22:42

@swallowedAfly thst double progesterone was doing me no good at all!

LBB2020 · 18/09/2022 07:52

Keep going @swallowedAfly
I tried a mini pill years ago (as contraception) @Judystilldreamsofhorses and it didn’t agree with me at all. Hopefully everything starts to settle down for you.
I've had a good week with food, no snacking in the evenings and I’ve stuck to my calories all week (apart from eating a packet of Percy Pigs last night 😂 but I still ended the day under 2000 calories so I’m not too bothered). I really need to get exercising again so that’s my plan this week along with more water and remembering my multivitamin daily (I only remembered to take it a few times last week). I will weigh tomorrow (my period should be finished by then). Hope everyone has had a good week/weekend

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/09/2022 10:15

@LBB2020 i’ve been happily on the mini pill for years - as contraception - but adding the coil on top must just be too much. The coil provides the progesterone part of HRT, and contraception, but the mini pill isn’t allowed as HRT even though it’s the same thing. 🙈

Sounds like you have had a great week!!

swallowedAfly · 19/09/2022 08:14

It's actually interesting when you think about it that they're so picky and rule making and restrictive when it comes to hrt to alleviate suffering yet pretty free and easy about us shoving hormones in our bodies in all sorts of forms for contraception.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/09/2022 09:55

Initially had patches @swallowedAfly but felt awful - my GP suggested coil/gel from the start. If I had been smart I would have used the gel with the PoP but not got the coil!

LBB2020 · 19/09/2022 10:41

10st13lbs this morning, that’s a few lbs down this week! Really pleased with that 😃(I’m sure it’s largely due to my period but I’ll take it!). DH is home today after a weekend away so we’re going to head out for a long walk as we’re both off work for the bank holiday (I’m a bit indifferent to the royal family so won’t be watching the funeral or anything like that).
Hope your HRT/hormones settle down soon for you @Judystilldreamsofhorses

Octopus45 · 19/09/2022 16:17

Well done @LBB2020 . @Judystilldreamsofhorses glad you've come off the mini pill, it sounds as if your body is settling down. Nice to see you @swallowedAfly it sounds as if you are doing great.

9st0.5 this morning, although the scales said three pounds more when I first got on them. Tried twice more so have decided to go with the lower reading. As ever, not doing amazingly with food/focus, I'm quite stressed about my Dad and busy generally and know I have been a bit guilty of eating my feelings. TBH I' m not expecting that to change any time soon, its a case of damage limitation. Hope everyone has enjoyed having an extra bank holiday despite the reason.

LBB2020 · 19/09/2022 16:55

Sorry to hear you’re feeling stressed @Octopus45

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/09/2022 21:24

Well done @LBB2020 and cut yourself some slack @Octopus47 - you are dealing with a lot!

swallowedAfly · 24/09/2022 13:42

Well done LBB and good to see you too Octopus.

I'm still hovering around 12:11 annoyingly. Stone and a bit up from lowest weight this year. Not sure if it's HRT or higher dose of antidepressants or what.

Burning way more calories and not eating more than before so a bit flummoxed but lacking the energy and head space to prioritise calorie counting and huge restrictions.

Maybe freezing without heating over hte winter will help burn off some of this fuel?

Octopus45 · 25/09/2022 09:03

Good to see you @swallowedAfly . I'm sure it will balance out and thats a good point about the lack of heating we are all going to have to cope with over the Winter. Had a day out in Brighton with my bestie yesterday for her Birthday, was fantastic, ate plenty but also walked nearly 20,000 steps.

LBB2020 · 25/09/2022 09:40

Morning all, hope you are all doing ok. Not the best week here, started off well but it was DS2 birthday so there has been lots of treats and cake! I’ve probably undone the good week I’d had the previous week!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/09/2022 13:35

It’s the HRT @swallowedAfly - I maintained 10/7 for the entire pandemic, which is about 3lb up on my usual weight. Started HRT earlier this year and ballooned. I’ve not weighed in about six weeks now.

we’ve already had heating on! We’re in Scotland and it’s just double figures at the mo, today is 13, tomorrow forecast 11.

sparklyglitterball · 25/09/2022 22:28

Evening all, I've been off the healthy eating radar as I've had covid (for the second time ) I felt really hungry for carbs with it this time!. Just went with my cravings 😅 and have spent the last couple of days trying to ease back into eating less and moving more! Hope you're all doing ok.
