Hi ladies,

Here is the new thread. Weighed in at 9st1.75 this morning so up from the beginning of September. TBH so stressed and cold that all I want to eat is carbs, but I suspect I'm not alone.

Off up North this weekend. Hope everyone has a good one.

Thanks for the new thread. I’m still not weighing but doing well with eating/steps.

Hope everyone is okay.

mikado1 · 01/10/2022 10:33

I have found you! After a few months without a login- got locked out and didn't bother followings up- I have taken on an old persona, previously here as a 'Superstar DJ' and sugar addict-hope you might make the link!

Anyway I am glad to be back and to find you all still here, getting jn the steps and eating well! I am in a good zone of three good meals and I fit any chocs etc in with these meals rather than feverishly inhaling them separately! I was really active all summer. Now I need to concentrate on eating well - had let the veggies go a bit - and sleeping well..have kicked the coffee and it has helped hugely!
Today's menu is
Porridge with banana
Sausage z rasher and scrambled egg lunch (1 of each)
Veggie chilli
Hope you're all well. Will catch up. Have a lovely Saturday.

mikado1 · 01/10/2022 10:37

Oh, another thing I've fallen down hugely on is water. So aim to up that!

LBB2020 · 01/10/2022 10:38

Morning all! Starting October at 11st exactly so I’ve put back on a couple of lbs I’d lost beginning of sept! Never mind it’s a new month and I’m going to try to get back into some sort of routine with food and exercise

Octopus45 · 03/10/2022 08:10

Morning ladies, nice to see you @mikado1 . I'm just checking in, but probably not going to be around much this month cause things have got pretty bad with my Dad. Will pop in when I can

OP posts:
mikado1 · 03/10/2022 08:39

Oh Octopus, I'm sorry to hear that. My own Dad also not great. It's very difficult. Take care of yourself.

It seems to be quieter in general on the thread. I had a good weekend foodwise, no splurging and good activity but probably a bit carb heavy.

LBB2020 · 03/10/2022 15:37

Sorry to hear things with your dad aren’t good @Octopus45
My weekend was ok but not great! Back to calorie counting today, doing ok so far (the evenings are my downfall)

mikado1 · 03/10/2022 17:04

Same here LBB!! So much is habit tho! I've had an early dinner here so hopefully that's it for me.

LBB2020 · 03/10/2022 17:11

It’s so hard to stay out of the kitchen cupboards once the DC are in bed! But if I want to shift this weight I must stay strong haha! I’d ideally like to lose a stone by Christmas which should be doable (just over a lb per week) so I’m really really going to try!

mikado1 · 03/10/2022 18:19

That's a great target! I just want to gradually shift a few and stop the binging!! So easy to get sucked into diet mentality despite just wanting to eat better and less gorging! Keep nothing in the house or I'd have no hope!

LBB2020 · 04/10/2022 07:46

I finished yesterday on 1384 calories, happy with that! Didn’t drink hardly any water so need to fill up my water bottle and keep it next to me while I’m working today. Going to try to get back to the gym tonight or if not the gym will do a YouTube video.
Hope you all have a good day

mikado1 · 04/10/2022 08:47

Well done!
Also had a good day. Also need more water! ☺
Home with sick children today so going to take the time with a nice omelette for breakfast!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/10/2022 10:37

Sorry to hear your dad is not doing well, @Octopus45 . Make sure you take time to take care of you and not just care for other people.

I have a physio appointment tomorrow and am hoping she can sort me out to get back to running. It all settled down and I was running three times a week again which felt great, then one day in work all the lifts were down and I'd done over 20K steps by 5pm which seemed to flare it back up. It's been SO painful. Annoyingly I am having to pay a fortune to see someone privately because when I chased up the NHS referral it transpires the waiting list is TWO YEARS.

LBB2020 · 05/10/2022 20:37

How was your physio appointment @Judystilldreamsofhorses? Hope they were able to help.
Another alright day for me (yesterday and today, finished both days on just under 1400 calories), still need to drink more water!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/10/2022 21:12

I had shockwave therapy @LBB2020 - they use electric currents to inflame the tissue to try to then get the body to heal. the physio also gave me calf exercises to do and I go back next week then the week after too.

Excellent calories there!

A non scale victory for me today. I put on some jeans I haven’t worn in a few weeks and I could get a fist in the waistband. They are Levi’s mom jeans in a 12, in proper denim rather than stretchy.

mikado1 · 05/10/2022 21:47

Well done both! 🌟 I had a funny day today with just carrot sticks and hummus for lunch due to complete lack of prep followed by an unplanned fast till 7pm. Had a nice dinner and yoghurt and fruit so fine now. Too hungry not good for me, I'm liable to gorge so v glad I reigned it in! Weighed this morning for first time in 3 months...was unpleasantly surprised so hopefully the healthy, moderate approach will knock off a few pounds!

LBB2020 · 05/10/2022 21:49

Hope the treatment works @Judystilldreamsofhorses. Brilliant about your jeans too!

Thank you, I’m just cutting out the ridiculous amount of evening snacking really. I still managed a doughnut today (I’m not cutting out anything or I’ll end up having a massive binge!)

LBB2020 · 05/10/2022 21:50

Well done on a good day too @mikado1

mikado1 · 05/10/2022 21:52

I've the exact same aim LBB, and that will be huge if I manage it and the pounds will probably drop slowly but that's OK, it's more the awful, engrained habit I need to drop. Thanks for the well done. Being back on the thread helps for a bit of focus!

LBB2020 · 06/10/2022 19:05

I know what you mean @mikado1
Another ok day today, 1488 calories and I’ve been to the gym! Need to get some more water in before bed. Hope everyone else has had a good day

mikado1 · 06/10/2022 22:29

Wow, amazing plus gym! I had another good day so I'm a full week now with no coffee or binging yay! Three good meals and an hour's activity.

LBB2020 · 06/10/2022 23:07

Fantastic @mikado1 well done!
I run on coffee these days! (fully blame DS2 who isn’t the biggest fan of sleep!).
I actually really enjoyed the gym once I got there it’s just getting motivated to go that I struggle with. I need to make it part of my routine then I won’t even think about it, I’ll just go!

mikado1 · 07/10/2022 06:45

I have had really disturbed sleep for a few years and though I only drank a latte a day, I thought I would see if it helped sleep..had the best night's sleep in years just two days in! Maybe a coincidence but I'm not hugely missing it so will keep it up and see. Woke early bit refreshed this morning and I think a knock on effect of no bingeing is more energy so I'll get up and weigh, tho period has arrived. Plan on weighing once a week...hadn't weighed in months!! Have a good day and great re the gym. I play tennis so no option but to show as have booked in with a partner/opponents. Have a tennis night tonight followed by a BBQ so I'm looking forward to that. Really thrilled to have made an effort to get on top of proper eating, again!

LBB2020 · 07/10/2022 06:52

Sounds like you’re doing great @mikado1
Just weighed myself and am 10st12lbs so 2lbs down! Very happy with that, now to not ruin it over the weekend

mikado1 · 07/10/2022 06:56

Brilliant! Well done!
