From what I have been reading a week is ok but two weeks is better if you can manage it.
I am very concerned about feeling weak and tired in work, also driving if I feel terrible as my commute is about 45 minutes each way.
I had a bit of a wobble earlier, as I am a Pepsi Max fiend, I bought some butter lemon protein water and it didn't hit the spot at all.

MagentaRocks · 05/02/2022 20:26

@MrMrsJones

No *@MagentaRocks* I'm on my own DH wanted to come, but with dogs and extra flight costs, I opted to go by myself
Hope it all goes ok.

I’m a Diet Coke fiend. I am starting to wean myself off it and have started drinking tea to make it a little easier when the time comes. Less than 6 weeks to go for me. I am going to start the pre op diet a bit earlier and try to get some weight off in advance, then it will make me feel a bit more confident. I already feel happier now I have made the decision.
Bubblegums09 · 06/02/2022 03:35

Thank you, I'm hoping to take 2 weeks off my worry is they are usually 12hr shifts and running low on energy and trying to drink/small sips throughout day will be hard going to start off with.
I'm also a diet coke fiend, so so hard to give up :(
Good luck to everyone having their operations soon.

Bubblegums09 · 06/02/2022 03:38

Also random question for anyone! Were you allowed to wear a bra during the op like a non wired sort etc?

sobercuriouskind · 06/02/2022 03:51

Hey all, I took the plunge and messaged Dr Tamer and hope to set up a consultation soon. I've decided I'm going for it. Just need to decide between the sleeve and bypass so I've been researching that.
My question for those that have had the surgery and are months/years in. Even though your portions are much smaller, do you enjoy food?

Bubblegums09 · 06/02/2022 05:50

Well done for taking first step, I was nervous for first consultation but soon put at ease and covered all my questions .

MrMrsJones · 06/02/2022 08:32

Well I'm 45mins from boarding

MagentaRocks · 06/02/2022 08:53

MrMrsJones · 06/02/2022 16:21

Sat in my hospital room, just had some food. About to have a shower and then some tests.

MagentaRocks · 06/02/2022 17:30

What the hospital like? Hope you are feeling comfortable

MrMrsJones · 06/02/2022 17:41

Yes it's OK
Warm clean, nice people

sleeveho · 08/02/2022 08:06

@MrMrsJones
Hope it all went smoothly for you and you are recovering well.

MrMrsJones · 09/02/2022 08:41

Sorry I haven't updated.

Yes all went well, the day of the operation your drugged out your eyeballs, and just want to sleep and get more drugs.

Had my op on monday morning and they had me walking at 5pm, bastards lol

Then your so tired and in pain, so lots of drips and meds.

Day 3, I went to the shop to buy a phone charger and feel OK, less pain but still uncomfortable because I have a tube inside me draining fluids.

That comes out tomorrow and I go to the hotel till I fly back on sun

MagentaRocks · 09/02/2022 08:50

Glad it went OK. Hope the pain eases soon.

MrMrsJones · 09/02/2022 18:44

Thank you @MagentaRocks

MagentaRocks · 09/02/2022 20:00

@MrMrsJones

Thank you *@MagentaRocks*
And thank you for giving me an idea what to expect. I am not expecting dh to visit me after my op on the day, we live just over an hour away from where I am getting it done, and we can’t leave the dogs for too long, so he can come and visit the following day. As you say, you just want to sleep on the day.
MrMrsJones · 10/02/2022 08:42

I'm at the hotel now so might sit and write it all down.

Bubblegums09 · 11/02/2022 00:03

I hope this thread picks back up, it's all gone very quiet lately 🤞🏻are there many of us due an op soon ?

MrMrsJones · 11/02/2022 06:07

I'm day five post op 😁

MagentaRocks · 11/02/2022 08:11

I’m due mine middle of March. Had a call from them yesterday as they needed to check something and had a nice long chat which has helped me feel better about it.

How are you feeling @MrMrsJones?

MrMrsJones · 11/02/2022 08:36

@MagentaRocks
Like I want to go home!

Wounds are healing nicely, no pain.

Take smooth cuppa sups, because if your going to Turkey, the soup, yogurt and milk is disgusting and all you will have is water.

Only a couple more days until you can go home. Glad there's no pain.

I'm having mine in the UK. I know it is a lot more expensive but it works better for me.

muddyone1968 · 12/02/2022 11:54

Had my consultation with Chris Pring on Thursday and now received my quote for a sleeve with Streamline - £10485.
I've been reading the posts on Facebook and freaking myself out. Lots of people saying they really regret having surgery.
Any advice from those of you who've been through this?
