Ah! I can chart my decline from the first wearing of elasticated trousers ... tools of Satan.

I was fine today till about 4pm then the hunger struck and it's been uphill ever since. But I have done the exercises and I will be strong. Hope tomorrow goes a bit easier

poorpaws · 18/11/2021 21:07

I don’t know how you’ve all done this evening but I have really struggled. I’ve done plenty of steps today but I am so hungry tonight and I don’t want to eat anything else so it looks like I could be in bed for about 9.30 🥴.

Over halfway now but it’s getting harder. I can’t wait for this week to be done. Obviously I won’t let the side down but blimey I’m struggling tonight.

poorpaws · 18/11/2021 21:11

Oops crossed post @Bjarnum. We are both struggling tonight then. I wonder how our other two members of the hunger club are doing. Next time you have a bright idea like this one ... 🤐

OP posts:
gonelululemoncrazy · 18/11/2021 21:36

@Bjarnum & poorpaws, struggling as well, today was tough. Can't remember the last time I felt so hungry. Managed 40 mins of exercise, a long walk and kept myself busy with housework this evening. Good luck for day 5 everyone.

Purlsandhooks · 18/11/2021 22:28

I'm still going! Can't decide if it's my horrid cold or lack of calories that's been getting on top of me today. So low on energy. Regardless I did a 20min HIIT and saved calories from my day for a G&T which I'm sure isn't sensible 😆

poorpaws · 19/11/2021 07:55

Good morning everyone, Day 5.

It looks like we all struggled a bit yesterday but well done to all of us for getting through it. I didn’t end up going to bed early in fact I was later than normal, I got sidetracked with Christmas shopping online. I didn’t eat anymore though during the evening and I couldn’t sleep last night because I was so hungry.

We’re over halfway! I hate to say it but last time I found the last two days the most difficult and it’s weekend as well so stay with us, stay strong and on Monday it will all be worth it.

I’m doing an extra long dog walk today as I’m meeting my professional dog walker friend (who is super fit) and we’ll have nine dogs between us (3 of us cos DP will come too) so lots of steps.

Have a very good day all of you.

OP posts:
gonelululemoncrazy · 19/11/2021 08:41

@poorpaws, very easily done when it come to shopping on line. Did you pick up any good deals? I haven't bought any presents yet - waiting for Black Friday. But I did do my Turkey and M&S order a couple of months ago.
Plan to go for a run at lunchtime, and in the evening keep myself occupied with packing in prep for decorators. Hope everyone has a good one today.

Bjarnum · 19/11/2021 13:36

Morning all! Like @poorpaws I had a dreadful night - too hungry to sleep. I would likely have snapped had it not been for a disastrous dental visit where my gums were damaged and so after eating it takes ages to get the teeth cleaned properly , then the mouth washed etc. Really such a faff that having shut down for the night I really can't face doing it all again! I admire your control**@purlsandhooks - just one drink is enough to send me into a feeding frenzy. Good luck with the packing @gonelululemoncrazy - I always seem to get sidetracked when sorting through stuff.I found some old school reports in the loft when I was supposedly clearing it out and promptly shot down a rabbit hole for 3 hours! Day 5 it is! Well done us!

poorpaws · 19/11/2021 21:16

Just before dinner tonight I wrote a very long post and it’s obviously not posted, I have no idea where it’s gone.

I won’t go through it all again but I just want to wish you all well for the weekend. If it’s anything like last time it’s going to be very, very difficult but stay with us it’s only two more days!

I’m going to make a sort of Christmas cake tomorrow to keep myself busy. I say sort of because it’s a mincemeat cake recipe of Mary Berry’s. I’ve weighed most of the ingredients out tonight because I will be on a dog walk in the morning and I’d like to just get back and make it without having to mess about with ingredients. I’ve never done it before or even heard of it to be honest so we shall see.

Keep very busy if you can this weekend to take your mind off eating and I’ll post again tomorrow to see how you are all doing.

I hope we both sleep tonight @Bjarnum, it really was difficult last night and I’m already hungry before I go to bed. First thing this morning I had a simple bowl of porridge with a little sugar sprinkled on it, it was heaven, pure heaven. Who would believe that something so simple could taste so good if you’ve been starving half the night.

Try for that extra push, there are ONLY two more days. Well done so far all of us.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 19/11/2021 23:25

Oooh I love porridge @poorpaws! Might make some for breakfast tomorrow. I've finally finished the vile antibiotics; my ear isn't quite better, it's less gunky (medical term) but I still can't actually hear out of it. I'll probably give it till Monday and then if it's not better contact the GP again (well, if I can get through!) - much as I don't want more antibiotics, I equally don't want the infection to get so deep rooted that it just won't go Sad

I'm just a blimp this week - AF arrived early to add to the general delights of tummy troubles! @gonelululemoncrazy I'd love some of those stretchy leggings but feel my budget is more Tesco standard Grin

Old school reports @Bjarnum! My DM gave me some old school stuff that she'd kept for thirty years, it's all in a box waiting for me to have time to go through it, that'll probably take another thirty years...

DP is so astonishingly lazy that I'm going mad. Sigh. Still need to carve out an hour or so to myself after the life planning session as well!

Good luck to all the super humans this weekend, I will try not to have too much Cake and Wine on your behalf as much as I might want to

Bjarnum · 20/11/2021 09:25

@poorpaws I hope you had a better night. I was woken at 2am by the dog and just could not get back to sleep. It's amazing how wonderful everything tastes when you are starving hungry. I've had a (calorie counted, of course) bacon roll with fresh coffee - and the experience was almost spiritual! I had a go at mincemeat cake years back but was not impressed with my efforts. Similarly with boiled fruit cake. Other people make them and they turn out just fine - mine have a nasty chewy texture and slightly bitter taste.
Looks like we are all keeping the faith - only today and tomorrow to go! *@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl * hope your ear infection improves - and you are well enough to join us on our epic journey soon. (Although I am in no hurry to repeat this week and strongly suspect I am not alone in that)

gonelululemoncrazy · 20/11/2021 09:44

Good morning everyone, just checking in and taking a break from packing. @Bjarnum, like you I find it a slow process, for every minute of actual packing there is 2-3 of 'Oh, I forgot I had that! That takes me back...'

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl, you poor thing. Hope you start to feel better. Sounds like you need loads of TLC. On the stretchy leggings front, I nearly bankrupted myself in the first lockdown Blush. At the time one of my few joys as I home-schooled two boys while also doing my own job, was to see the UPS man turn up with my delivery. In my defence I did only buy stuff from the 'we made too much' discount section.

Good luck everyone - wow its day 6!

Purlsandhooks · 20/11/2021 13:05

Hello everybody!
Just checking in. Went for a run last night, just 2 miles but considering I don't know the last time I ran that's a win for me!
Clothes are feeling more roomy today and my boyfriend has been showering me in affirmation Grin
What's everyone hoping to see on the scales on Monday? I'd be super happy with anything sub 11 🤞

poorpaws · 20/11/2021 16:58

Hi everyone

I’ve had a hell of a day today. We’ve got a water leak in the store beneath the bungalow. The pipe work is very old and the plumber couldn’t buy the fixings. Long story short, it’s taken up a lot of the day and cost £195, just for the tinniest drip you could imagine.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl. Aww poor you, I hope you feel better very soon and are back to your old self. Did you ever invest in that cattle prod for DP?

I’m not doing any more tonight, I’ve been stressed to hell all day and I’m only just back from a long dog walk.

@Purlsandhooks I’ve been trying to remember our last superhuman week and I think I lost 3.5 lbs and @Bjarnum lost 4 lbs (is that correct @Bjarnum?) so I’d be delight if I could lose 4lbs. If not, I know I’ve not cheated and couldn’t have done any more.

Glad your boyfriend is saying the right things, my DP hasn’t even noticed.

I did warn you how difficult it is, now you’ll have tasted the reality (and that’s about all you’ll have tasted this week).

I’m wondering next time there’s a “anyone up for a superhuman week” if there’ll be any takers at all.

I’m very hungry, off to do dinner now. I know it’s Saturday night but stay focused. Only one more full day left and then it’s the best bit on Monday morning.

OP posts:
Bjarnum · 20/11/2021 21:40

@poorpaws You know I had to go back and check - it seems so long ago! But yes, you have it right. TBH I have slowed to a snail pace since then - I think I actually stood still for a bit. I'm slowly clawing my way through today. If there is any justice I should lose several stones by Monday - heaven knows I have suffered enough! Realistically best case probably around 2 lbs - but I have really stuck to it so have genuinely done my best. What this has clearly shown me is that my previous efforts are not consistent enough and if I want to sort this weight issue out I need to be much more focussed and resign myself to it being awful for the foreseeable future. However, there is no way I could do this week again any time soon .
@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl. if the cattle prod fails I am laying a patio soon... @Purlsandhooks my dp is very supportive, bless him. Though like Paws' DP he is not very observant. @gonelululemoncrazy do you have somewhere nice for your runs? I live in the country so have no excuse for not doing more.
Last day tomorrow. Can't wait ...

gonelululemoncrazy · 20/11/2021 22:38

@Bjarnum we are a stones throw away from a lovely park where I regularly channel my inner gazelle Smile. I don't think I will get to run while the decorators are in, by the time they leave it will be too dark so will have to do HIIT in the living room instead.

I didn't really have any specific goal/expectation when I signed up for this, but would be over the moon if I lost 3 lbs. Dibs next on the cattle prod.

Good luck everyone for tomorrow.

poorpaws · 21/11/2021 08:14

@Bjarnum if there is one thing I have learnt from this it’s how spectacularly wonderful food is. I’ve just had my porridge and it just tasted like foods of the Gods. Usually I just scoff it down and don’t even notice, now every mouthful is beyond delicious, a delicacy even.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl if you use @Bjarnums patio idea, you’ll need help lifting so I volunteer (because I might lose a few pounds).

@gonelululemoncrazy I think we’d all be delighted at 3 lbs, it’s been so, so difficult. I can clearly remember the absolute delight last time when I lost 3.5 lbs But (and I know I’m stating the obvious) after a very difficult week it’s so easy to put a good proportion of it back on so we must be very careful next week.

I had a word with DP about not even noticing weight loss and he just said I wear so many layers that no one would ever notice, he’s got a point.

So ... the last day! I’ve had breakfast but I’m still hungry. It’s a long dog walk for me this morning and I might make some mince pies if I’ve got the energy. I’ve got some home-made mincemeat which is really nice and I need to use it up. Funny how making things I love to eat actually is a help when I’m dieting, it doesn’t make sense to me but it works.

The end is clearly in sight and we’ve all done brilliantly so tomorrow will be a very, very good day 😀

Good luck to everyone on our last day of hell and don’t give in at the last post, it will be so worth it tomorrow morning.

OP posts:
Bjarnum · 21/11/2021 15:01

Just checking in. So, whatever the outcome tomorrow I'd like to say a big thank you to all of you. Because without you I would have snapped days back. But checking in every day has given me the extra bit of willpower to keep going.

poorpaws · 21/11/2021 16:32

I feel exactly the same @Bjarnum, it’s true it’s hard to do (I felt rotten before lunch today) but with so much support on here I did get through it. I know I haven’t cheated once and did a massive amount of steps (for me) so if the results aren’t good tomorrow I don’t know what else I could have done.

Big day tomorrow everyone, I am so excited to hear your results. Nearly dinner time now and I’m so hungry but happy as well that we all accomplished such a challenging task. A special thank you to @Bjarnum because it was her original idea. Not that I would have said thank you a day or two ago but I’m sure it will be well worth it.

Good luck to everyone and no matter what, well done.

gonelululemoncrazy · 21/11/2021 22:01

Oh what a day! Our packing/preparation for the decorators has had a casualty. I accidentally killed the pet mini catfish 'Caty'! Followed all the instruction in terms of moving him to another smaller tank so I'm not sure what I did wrong. DS2 is really upset, as am I Sad. If it wasn't for superhuman week I would have polished off a whole bottle of white tonight.

@Bjarnum & @poorpaws, I feel exactly the same. Would probably have caved on Tuesday without all your support. Can't believe I have gone a whole week without refined sugar, kept to around 1000 cal a day and exercised 7 days in a row.

Fingers crossed for everyone, looking forward to hearing how much weight everyone has lost.

Bjarnum · 22/11/2021 06:37

I have lost two and a half pounds. Not bad but really I deserve to lose a lot more! Family meal tonight so hoping I don't put the lot back on especially as it cost me so much to get the damn stuff off. I will check back in later this evening see how everyone else has done.

Purlsandhooks · 22/11/2021 07:29

Sorry to hear about your fish @gonelululemoncrazy I'm sure you did everything right, they can be such fragile things.
Weighed in this morning, 2lbs off for me. So similar to you @Bjarnum. I know my body is super lazy though and will hold on to fat as long as possible, I have a feeling if I stay on the wagon I'll see the true results within the next few days, once my body realises it's going to have to use that fat for energy afterall! Hopefully it's the same for you. Stay strong, enjoy your meal out tonight but stick with the right choices and you won't regret it
Thanks for all the support everyone and may the scale gods be with you today.

gonelululemoncrazy · 22/11/2021 07:53

@Purlsandhooks thanks, cant help but blame myself though.

Well done @Purlsandhooks & @Bjarnum. I manged to lose three and half pounds which gets me into the 12's, so that's my first milestone reached. Hoping to continue with some of my good behaviour - such as not grazing while wfh.

poorpaws · 22/11/2021 08:02

Oh so sorry you’ve had such trauma @gonelululemoncrazy, don’t blame yourself I’m sure you did all you could.

Well done to the superhuman team. I just keep repeating myself but it is difficult.

4.3/4 lbs (4.75 lbs) off, I’m ecstatic and bloody hungry.
