@TheRealHousewife thank you. When I started I really wasn't feeling I could achieve my end target. Now it most definitely feels possible.
Not exactly feeling the positive impacts on my health yet! Looking a bit better when dressed but the weight loss has led to a fair bit of loose skin on my belly! My c section apron is now very pronounced! Not sure there's anything I can do about that!
But I know logically that losing weight will help improve my general health.
Must do another bp read and see how that's going and an inch measurement too as not done that since end of august.
@Curlypop the carrot sticks really help me avoid the crisps!
@SunshineCake1 I can relate to going downstairs as a goal! Yesterday and today I've achieved similar small goals after 3 weeks of not being able to do sod all! Eg finally picked up my Mail and sorted it - my balance was really off and I didn't trust I could bend over to get it without falling over until yesterday! For the first time in 3 weeks I have hair in a proper updo rather than just scraped back in a rough (very rough!) ponytail, I've make up on and I'm feeling close to my usual self. Awaiting Tesco delivery!
@Youdoyoutoday I've been tempted to try the frozen cauliflower rice is it ok and easy to use? I tend to have stir fried mostly with rice is it ok and easy to use for that? And how does it taste? I like cauli ok but not overly keen on plain boiled a la my mum which is quite boring and bland
@fallfallfall don't beat yourself up we all have slip ups and have emotional triggers. What bizarre behaviour by your "friend"!
@CumbrianExile welcome your mini goals are absolutely achievable. I've a lot to lose too (approx 5 stone based on start weight) but as a lovely friend I chat to on here says, you can't eat an elephant in one meal! So break it down to smaller more easily and more quickly achievable goals to keep you going. That's what I've done I've a wee memo in my notes app with my mini goals listed.
My 1st was to lose 5% of start weight which the nhs advises and apparently is the point at which you notice health improvements. Or your body does!
Next was to get under 13 stone which I've recently managed after a bit of a plateau (plateaus are normal and actually a sign you're doing it right apparently according to an article linked on previous thread) my next target is to be under 12.5 stone by the end of this month.
I also have the "happy scale" app which lets you chart your progress and produces a wee graph for you to visualise it. You can set mini goals on that too I have mine set at each half stone.

I did ww years ago and lost successfully with them and mostly kept it off, but still had much to lose. I stopped going ww due to other health issues. But when I started this time around I applied what I could remember of what I learned with them too. Friends I used to attend with I discussed with them too and they reminded me of some stuff I'd forgotten. I've been debating joining online so I can get some ideas and tips even if just for a months and read the forums/site and get as much info as possible, but then I feel I'm doing pretty well without and with the support and advice on this thread, so might just be a waste of money/time.
@buzzofthebumblebee again don't beat yourself up. Sounds like a tough week! What do you think is bad about sausages and ratatouile? Ratatouille is a pretty low cal and healthy dish, sausages aren't horrific either. I don't believe in "bad" foods and "good" foods I believe in a healthy or unhealthy overall diet. Some foods are higher calorie than others and to lose weight we obviously need to consider that but also some higher cal foods are very good for us nutritionally speaking it's a balance isn't it?
@Stuffragette welcome. I'm also on meds that make me gain weight (steroids and anti depressants) so I sympathise! And it's often dismissed when you raise such concerns with hcps isn't it cos they're like "but these meds are keeping you alive!" Yes I know that but I also don't wanna stay fat!
I've not watched strictly for years as I got a bit fed up of it but it seems to have had a boost last few years so I may try it this year. I mainly binge watch via streaming v much out of the habit of watching "normal" tv and as a result have missed some great shows first time around so I'm trying to be more mixed in my approach to what I watch and how.
Tesco delivery has now been (started writing this while waiting) and I'll admit I've treated myself to a pizza as been craving one all week! But then starting tomorrow back to cal counting properly now I've lots of lovely fresh tasty food in that I CAN taste properly now and it doesn't all taste like a block of sodding salt!!
