Hello & Welcome 😊 WOW 😯 April came around so fast. The sunny Spring weather and easing of Lockdown brings so much joy and promise for the coming year.

This thread is for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The members of these threads are inspirational, supportive and happy to share their progress (the ups and the downs).

We all know that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will heap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

Totally agree with getting straight back on the wagon if you have a lapse. I find it's also a good idea to consciously plan the odd treat so you can enjoy it without feeling guilty.

I enjoy chocolate but it isn't something I have cravings for if I cut it out so I've decided this Easter my treat will be our Easter Sunday roast rather than an Easter Egg. Normally I have just the roast meat and some green veg, but I'll do gravy and a small portion of roast potatoes as an Easter special.

132orbust · 02/04/2021 16:18

That is why I weigh in every day @Arbadacarba (unless in my brain fogged state I reach for the urn sized mug of tea that DH brings and drink it all before I think of it)
That way I cannot run from my actions and their consequences....

Arbadacarba · 02/04/2021 16:25

I've tried that in the past, @132orbust but I found I was getting too hung up on daily fluctuations, so now I weigh once a week, first thing in the morning after a wee but before I drink anything.

As long as I stick to that I can stay on track. Missing a week because I think I have overeaten and I want to make up for it the following week is always fatal for my weightloss though, because before I know it four weeks have passed and I am too scared to step on the scales and see the damage.

132orbust · 02/04/2021 16:34

It is funny as I did the weekly thing in the past but if I knew I'd over eaten I'd push it to 8 days or 9 and then I would think I'll wait until next Wednesday and by then I could be 4 or 5lbs up.
This way if I am 3lbs up after the week-end as I was a while ago I have a really focused Monday and see where I am by Tuesday morning and go from there.
Whatever works for you.

TheRealHousewife · 02/04/2021 16:40

Good Afternoon you lovely lot

Thank you @SunshineCake ❤️

Must be feeling better as I’ve done a few chores today! I feel so much better having contributed to household jobs. I’ve also had a few good days totally on it eating wise. Like @Elle200 I’m not having any Easter Eggs/Chocolate (great loss btw), but will be doing a big lamb roast on Sunday (OMAD).

A warm welcome @BlueSkyBlinking. Sorry to hear about fluctuating hormones, here’s hoping the hrt will settle things down for you! Losing/diet is totally about the general trends. One heavy day of eating won’t derail weeks worth of healthy choices.

Award welcome @Marbsyearofhealth (love your user name 😬), you’ve come to the right place. Great ladies on here 👍.

@132orbust I’m the same, won’t weigh if I’ve drank my morning cuppa and must have been to loo too!

Have a good one 😊

Day 2 back on the MFP wagon. Better remember to log my Friday beverage(s). 😬

I did weigh today and have fluctuated down a tiny bit. Already feeling positive to be a bit back in control. 👍

SunshineCake · 02/04/2021 19:36

Bad news went to M&S to get their dine in for four meal but they'd sold out of the lamb I wanted and ds2 didn't want the beef, pork or whatever the other meat was.

Good news is I found my missing notebook.

I can't run tomorrow am so will go in the afternoon and then enjoy Sunday. Not sure what we are having for dinner, might go out tomorrow and try and get lamb, but I will be having chocolate and will enjoy it.

SunshineCake · 02/04/2021 19:36

Well done @Galvantula.

Arbadacarba · 02/04/2021 19:54

Great news @Galvantula!

We're having guinea fowl for our Easter roast - from Sainsburys.

fallfallfall · 02/04/2021 21:51

I’m planning our big Easter meal on Sunday, dh birthday is on Monday. So I have a few days to plan. I have bought a small ham and know dh want a burger for his birthday :). I hope to pick up a decadent cake tomorrow.

joysmoy66 · 03/04/2021 09:04

Still 10st 1.8 however we are having a takeaway tonight and lots of chocolate today and tomorrow so expect to gain some. I'm going to do my workout today plus go for a long walk to try and prevent to much gain. Hope everyone is ok this morning and has a lovely Easter weekend Smile🧆🐣☕️🍷

Arbadacarba · 03/04/2021 09:17

I weighed in this morning at 12 st 2 so that's 1lb lost last week which is good news. I'm really looking forward to getting under 12 st which hopefully should happen in the next couple of weeks if I stay on track.

Avocadorable · 03/04/2021 11:04

Holding steady at 14s 3
Weight seems to stay stuck for a
Week or 2 the drop a few pond altogether not sure why but I’ll take it. Happy Easter everyone. Welcome to all the new posters
Sw 16st 10 mid January
Cw 14st 3
Mini goal 13st 7

BlueSkyBlinking · 03/04/2021 11:10

I’m going to take my SW from today because I stupidly gained a kg last week in a day of devil-may-care Easter egg eating.

SW 172.6 lbs
GW 146 lbs

Method 16:8 and dropping a nightly glass of wine to 1/2 weekly. Also taking pre and probiotics to regulate my gut, which is very slow. Moving 30 mins every day (at least until the gyms reopen).

Hope you are all having a lovely day!

132orbust · 03/04/2021 11:21

Daily weigh in from me:
Day 89
SW:151
CW:137.5
GW:132
Still no change which given it's the long weekend is fine by me.
So 13.5 lost, 5.5 to go and then think again.

132orbust · 03/04/2021 17:59

Oooh nsv here.
The background: DD1 and DD2 do a 'full restaurant experience' for DH and I every so often. Menus are suggested by them and we make choices a few days ahead of schedule and then on the night we are greeted, seated and served. They do to a lot of trouble and so do we getting dressed up and ready for the evening.
So tonight I picked out one of my less forgiving dresses and the zip whizzed up no stickiness at all.
Feels all the effort was worth while and then some!

SunshineCake · 03/04/2021 22:07

Well done @132orbust. Hope you enjoyed your meal.

I've failed in fasting today as ate some toast earlier but my head is not in the game. Will go running tomorrow if my chest pain has gone.

AuldFox · 03/04/2021 22:33

Just check into the new thread.
Easter indulgences have coincided with my period so I’ve eaten ALL the chocolates I could find and won’t be weighing myself until I’ve had a good two weeks of healthy eating again after one more chocolate egg

AuldFox · 03/04/2021 22:34

That’s so lovely of your DDs! @SunshineCake

AuldFox · 03/04/2021 22:34

Whoops I mean @132orbust

132orbust · 03/04/2021 23:19

We are very fond of them @AuldFox! They are such kind, caring and considerate children - well adults really at 16 and 19.
Picture attached of the restaurant.
On the downside is I'm bound to be a lot bit heavier tomorrow. No chocolate but everything else consumed in generous amounts Grin

Want to be at goal for birthday in July or at least have my face look a bit better for when I can get eventually get a hair cut 💇‍♀️
Does anyone else find their face age dramatically with extra weight ?

Foreverlexicon · 04/04/2021 08:10

Morning all. Thanks for tagging me in this. We have started yet another round of healthy eating after keto fell flat on its face and then a number of birthdays etc got in the way.

Lost 2.5lb last week.
I’ve basically put on everything I lost last summer so back to it. I’m aiming for another 15lb. Supposed to be going on holiday at the end of June (fingers crossed) which feels a reasonable goal and then 3 weddings between then and first weekend of September.

Basically concentrating on eating ‘better’ and plan to hit the gym hard from next Monday. Hopefully horse will finally come back into work in a week or so too so my exercise will go up loads. Here’s hoping!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 04/04/2021 08:57

Ate way too much and bad food yesterday so was up in the middle of the night feeling very uncomfortable, just don't think my body can handle fatty foods anymore so the take away burger, fries, halloumi bites, onion rings and ice cream I shoved in it didn't sit well.

It was all very tasty when I was eating it though 😂
