Hello & Welcome 😊 WOW 😯 April came around so fast. The sunny Spring weather and easing of Lockdown brings so much joy and promise for the coming year.

This thread is for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The members of these threads are inspirational, supportive and happy to share their progress (the ups and the downs).

We all know that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will heap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

@SunshineCake I love it when you tell us what to do! I've been necking water constantly since you gave me a talking to 😆. So much of this chat resonates with me, I've been stuck at 11 st for 6 months now. In the last 2 weeks I've seen a loss,

Sw 12st 13
Cw 10st 1.8
Gw 10st 7 though I think I'm going to change it to 10st.

Puffalicious · 24/04/2021 10:20

Shambling?! What's that all about?! Shamazing I wrote (a neologism coined by Nicole Scherzinger years ago that I happen to love, together with shamazeballs Grin.)

Wiebsa · 24/04/2021 10:22

4/77

SunshineCake I like being told what to do too!

Ate lots of veg roasted in olive oil yesterday including 2 portobello mushrooms with garlic which were so meaty and filing. Today is small steak for lunch with salad, salmon and veg for dinner.

Crazzzycat · 24/04/2021 10:31

Well done on that loss @Drybird2020!

I’m curious about your 77 day plan @Wiebsa. Apologies if you’ve already mentioned it, but why 77 days? Are you following a specific 77 day plan or aiming for a special event? Sorry for being nosy 🙈

joysmoy66 · 24/04/2021 10:57

10st 2 yesterday morning. Basically what I started the month on but I've had a load of chocolate Easter weekend,3 pub meals and a takeaway so I'm fine with just maintaining this month! If I lose anything by Friday I will be delighted but I'm not expecting it. Well done everyone Smile

Supergirl1958 · 24/04/2021 11:16

Happy weekend everyone! Had a little blip in work this week which is why I haven’t been on much. It hasn’t stopped me being on it, and already 3lb down from Monday so it’s all good!! Really pleased!! Off out for a long walk with my sister and mum this afternoon with my son as fiancé has gone fishing!!

SunshineCake · 24/04/2021 11:27

Blush. Thank you. Just trying to be supportive so glad it was okay.

@Drybird2020 well done on your water intake and loss. Also on keeping at it when stuck for months. I couldn't follow your CW and GW though so would you mind clearing that up for me please ?

@Wiebsa your meals sound lovely. I'm failing today as having sour dough and roast beef for lunch. A case of needing to eat things up. I feel we've had too much wastage lately and just had an unexpected bill of £700 with days notice so being more careful. Will not fall into the trap of thinking I'm a bin though. No eating food that makes me ill or is past its best.

Maintaining is a win in my book @joysmoy66. Well done.

Fantastic loss there @Supergirl1958. Great news.

My win is not weighing since Wednesday.

Need to debate whether to run or not tomorrow. It is my day too but I'm also shattered and need a lie in.

Supergirl1958 · 24/04/2021 11:31

@SunshineCake thankyou ❤️

I’d say treat yourself to a lie in, or can you lie in and then go for a run?

joysmoy66 · 24/04/2021 11:39

Thankyou sunshine Smile

Wiebsa · 24/04/2021 11:44

Crazzzycat it’s just an 11 week count down to family holiday in Cornwall. I thought doing a daily count down might keep me focussed. No particular plan, two meals a day, lunch at midday and dinner at 7 pm, lowish carb (not strict just the big hitters of bread, pasta, potatoes), lots of proper freshly cooked food. I put on 2 stone since first lockdown Blush and wanted to lose 7 lbs before that so here I am with quite a lot to lose in my 50s having been slim all my life. No idea how much I can lose in 77 days.

Supergirl1958 yes the fishing season has started hurrah, I am going to join my DH by the river this afternoon. Anyone concerned for the fish we use barbless hooks and release.

SunshineCake · 24/04/2021 11:50

That would be the ideal, @Supergirl1958 but my head lets me down. If I know I have to get up I wake too early and knowing I need to run does the same.

Supergirl1958 · 24/04/2021 11:55

@Wiebsa my fiancé is driving for 2+ hours to Anglesey and I have to look after my son...I did tell him a few days ago I do hope he doesn’t go fishing regularly...my only outlet is my season ticket for football and we currently aren’t allowed to go until at least august (unless my team make a very important final).

@SunshineCake I guess :D

Crazzzycat · 24/04/2021 14:14

A holiday sounds like good motivation to lose some weight @Wiebsa. I know that weightloss is different for everyone, but a 7lbs weightloss in that time sounds more than achievable to me.

I had planned a hike for today, but DH wanted to go to a garden centre instead. So we did that, followed by a very leisurely walk. It was lovely, but a little too low intensity for my liking. I feel like I’m turning into a bit of a fitness junkie. Not happy unless I break a sweat 😂

CocoaMojo · 24/04/2021 14:26

Well done @Supergirl1958! I'm down 3lbs this week too so really pleased with that. Struggling to find time for exercise though, this week has been a bit of a killer.
Feeling really fed up today, sun is shining but have been stuck in the house with two small ones waiting for my dh to get home from work, kids refusing to go anywhere! Wanted to go for a run and not sure when I'll be able to. When I'm feeling low my automatic response is to go hunting for food so trying to avoid that Blush

Drybird2020 · 24/04/2021 14:35

@SunshineCake my cw is 10st 10.8, missed a zero 🤭

SunshineCake · 24/04/2021 21:40

I'd love to be your current weight @Drybird2020. We all have our goals and we will all get there together.

I hoped to drop to them10s this month as I started at 11 stone 1.8 but that won't be happening now. But I won't be too disheartened. In October 2018 I was 14 stone so very slow and relatively steady but so much better than I was.

Just told dh we shouldn't have just eaten Pringles and left over breaded chicken an hour ago and he said it had to be done. I told him there is not enough time or meals with me doing IF to have treats so maybe one day the meal should be the biscuits GrinHmm.

I did walk the dog for an hour and a half this afternoon and did about two hours of cleaning so hoping that will offset some of the crisps.

@CocoaMojo I used to run before anyone got up but go at a more civilised time now. Dh runs in the evening.

Puffalicious · 25/04/2021 00:31

A meal of biscuits sounds perfect SunshineGrin.

I had an 'I'm just not hungry' day today, so I'll take that no worries. I, too, am hoping the cleaning moves a few calories: wire brushing garden furniture was actually very satisfying!

SunshineCake · 25/04/2021 08:14

I've woken up after the second night in a row I have had a nightmare where dh was horrible to me so I'm getting up and going running.

Have a good day everyone.

Supergirl1958 · 25/04/2021 09:21

@CocoaMojo hope you’re ok...sending hugs! I was too anxious to go out much of last summer so know what it’s like!

@SunshineCake sorry to hear about your nightmare!! I usually find that when I have a nightmare it makes my chest tight for the rest of the day so a run is a great idea!!

Wiebsa · 25/04/2021 09:26

Morning, today’s food is scrambled eggs for lunch, then (indoor) picnic food for dinner, I will avoid the pork pie etc and stick to the chicken and salad bits.

SunshineCake I sympathise with bad dreams, I dream a lot, wish I didn’t, horrible start to the day for you. Hope you enjoyed your run.

Crazzzycat · 25/04/2021 11:23

Another bad night’s sleep here. Four and a half hours according to my FitBit. I kept waking up because of the pain in my legs from yesterday’s exercise. It was “only a walk”, but it was up a very very steep hill. I thought I was going to pass out at one point, so clearly a bit more intense than I’d anticipated. I’m going to take it easy today and hope my legs will stop hurting soon.

Arbadacarba · 25/04/2021 11:32

Disappointing weigh-in for me - after last week's big loss I was 2lb UP this weekend - still in the elevens though at least. I'm attributing it to hydration levels etc. and trying to stay in the zone hoping for better next week. I had a two and a half hour walk yesterday and going for another later today - part of me just wanted to lie on the sofa sulking but I gave myself a talking-to and felt much better once I was out and about.

Arbadacarba · 25/04/2021 11:36

Well done @Supergirl1958 and @CocoaMojo !

@SunshineCake It's awful the way a nightmare can taint your day if you're not careful. Running sounds a great way to shake it off!

SunshineCake · 25/04/2021 16:23

Hope you managed to avoid the pork pies @Wiebsa!

Funnily enough I have had some chest and back pain this afternoon @Supergirl1958 but I did get it occasionally whereas before it was every day when I was first poorly so I don't think it is due to the dream. DH went shopping with DS2 and bought me a new book to cheer me up.

Be careful, @Crazzzycat and I hope your legs are better. I use Sanctuary healing balm on my back when necessary. this.

Well done for pulling yourself back from the sulk brink @Arbadacarba. Maybe it is too soon to show all your hard work on the scales yet.

I am pleased with my run. 7.12km, decent times. Had a lovely picnic for lunch and planning on soup for tea with a slice of fresh bread toasted and a couple of cookies. So tired. I did sleep all night but woke about half six which is worse in some ways as too late to go back off.

Supergirl1958 · 25/04/2021 16:27

@SunshineCake enjoy your new book :).
