Hi, I just signed up to team rh last night, biggest I've ever been and as a woman in her mid 40s I'm mindful of how unhealthy all this fat around my middle is!
Been thinking about team rh for a while, I like his no bullshit approach but appreciate it isn't for everyone. I can't do any eating plans where certain foods are banned so this seems great and the calories are generous too. Anyway if you're a member please let me know how you're getting on, I'm about to go out for my first walk!

Me but I've not really started yet!

buckleten · 23/02/2021 08:32

I am, and it is the best plan I have been on. Make sure to watch all the videos, and good luck! 😊

superram · 23/02/2021 08:33

Me, but I actually used fast 800 to lose the weight. The app is really annoying. Some of what Richie says is true and people do need it spelling out but I’m not into the swearing. It’s ok but I won’t renew.

superram · 23/02/2021 08:34

I also have no intention of weighing everything I eat.

superram · 23/02/2021 08:36

However, it’s like everything, it works while you do it and it does give knowledge on nutrition-it’s much better than ‘weapon world’. You’ve only got weight to lose so why not give it a go?!

TheBigGreenDinosaur · 23/02/2021 08:49

I am, I am the heaviest I have ever been and joined at the beginning of the year... to be honest I’ve been disappointed, the weight is coming off much much slower than I expected and I had low expectations to begin with because I know it’s a slow and steady type of plan. I have followed the plan to the letter, it comes across as being simple but it’s actually more complicated because you have to hit certain nutrition goals so you can’t necessarily eat exactly what you want. At first I found Richies videos funny and engaging but they do grate after a while, especially the over the top status updates usually calling someone an idiot or lazy for not doing enough steps etc.

However, there are some positives, the weight is coming off I guess overall, I never feel hungry and to be honest I spend that long weighing food and agonising over choices I have no desire to binge eat because it will not help me hit my nutrition goals 😂

This us my worry, vtgat the loss will be too slow and I'll get disheartened, but I'm sick of feeling like this!

Me! I signed up last year and lost 2 stone, I still have 1 more to go for target but lost all enthusiasm after September.

I have started my steps again and 3x workouts.

What I really like is he teaches you about refeeding when you get to where you want to get weight wise. After you refeed yourself as long as you keep active you should be able to have 2k cals a day if not more. An end to yo yo dieting!

MisgenderedSwan · 25/02/2021 12:54

I've signed up today and looking forward to getting started! Pleasantly surprised by how many calories I'm allowed. Slow and steady is fine by me, as long as there is progress!

Fiftysixthnamechange · 25/02/2021 13:21

The calories are indeed a bonus, day 3 for me, managed all my steps and hit my goals for each day. Not thrilled at weighing myself everyday but I understand why.

How's it going? I've lost 2.2lbs in 3 days but only hit my steps for the first time yesterday. So far finding it easy to stick within the calories but struggling to hit protein and fibre goals. About to drag the dog for a walk then thinking about a protein shake to up the numbers 😂
Fiftysixthnamechange · 28/02/2021 16:55

Hi, it's going well! 3 pounds down in 5 days, got my steps in everyday but struggling with the protein goal, it seems too good to be true at the moment!

I used to be on it but ultimately regret signing up. You get very little for your money.

Fiftysixthnamechange · 10/03/2021 20:20

Hi, not sure if anyone is still reading this thread but I'm still going strong!

Hi! It's going really well thanks, still not managed to hit my protein target even once but managing my steps, fibre and water. As of this morning I'm 4.5 pounds down since 23rd February, but most importantly I haven't felt hungry once.

I'm on this plan. I've lost 30lb since September and now comfortably in a size 12 and in the healthy BMI range. Thee alst half stone is proving v slow to come off bit as I am still losing they dont want me to cut my calories

The weighing of both food and body is a total pain in the arse, but to works, I wo t be able to stick to the food weighing as much when the world opens up though.

crustybreaddarling · 13/03/2021 11:46

Brilliant progress @DialsMavis @Fiftysixthnamechange

I'm managing on calories and steps but am nowhere near on the other macros, fibre in particular!

Is anyone using the RH protein shake?

DialsMavis · 13/03/2021 14:05

It'd whey based so I can't have it, so use another type.

I do feel I eat more "artificial" food on Team RH than I would think is ideal/healthy : protein powder and fake meat in my case in order to get the crazy amounts of protein.... But, its working so I figure I can get to where I want to be by following their rules then see if I can relax the macro stuff when maintaining

DialsMavis · 13/03/2021 14:14

It helps me to get as much fibre in as possible at breakfast so in the week I have: defrosted frozen berries (until bubbly and jam like in microwave), all bran, yoghurt and chia or linseeds... It gets me about 22g of fibre. I really struggled with fibre when I started and once I started hitting the fibre I couldn't quite get the insoluble and soluble fibre ratios right and ended up with some, erm, constipation issue (sorry!)

Enuffisenough · 13/03/2021 14:16

I was before, didn't stick to it and fell off the wagon. Stupidly signed up to a new membership earlier this year without checking out any changes and have since left the groups. The app has very little content and pulls the data from MyFitnessPal which I had anyway. The swearing is excessive - I don't mind a bit but it's every other word, I presume done for shock value. I don't expect a professional to post about "licking someone's..." you get the very graphic picture. And I don't expect to be vilified for not being able to commit at least an hour of walking a day alongside being a full time worker, full time student, mother and sole carer of an elderly dependent. I already get up at 4.30am, I rarely go to bed before 10.30pm and it's not unusual to be woken up in between. I'm sadly stuck with the 12 month contract but so be it, I'll cancel as soon as that term is up. So disappointing as it was really good before :(

crustybreaddarling · 13/03/2021 17:15

Oh lordy @DialsMavis, I hadn't even considered the soluble/insoluble question. That is for your tips though, I'm taking some advice I saw in the group and just getting to grips with one things at a time. Steps are fine, I'm normally quite active, so this week I'm just trying to hit calories. I can see that I'm not meeting the recommended macros but I'm not worrying about that yet.

That's one of the reasons why I quit it. They're really good at making themselves out to be different and supportive and down to earth but you don't actually get anything for your money.

Wow! I saw these people being mentioned a lot on MN and their rates are reasonable, but this is a terrible and abusive way of talking to your clients!
