Weighed myself and I'm just over 13 stone. Ideally want to be 11 stone. Trying to lose baby weight from DD born in July 2020 and have eaten a lot of chocolate over lockdowns! Starting SW from home today. Will use this thread for accountability! If anyone wants to join, the more the merrier 😊

Good luck!

Have you done it before?

MrsBudd · 04/01/2021 08:02

Yes did it a few years ago and lost a couple of stone, then had another baby 😂 I think the plans have changed slightly since though.

There is a Slimming World forum if that helps: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/slimming_world

I follow a couple of SW users on Instagram and the food always looks fab. Good luck!

KellyTLC · 06/01/2021 07:26

I’ve never done it personally.

If it’s something that works for you then great 👌.

Keep us posted xx

MrsBudd · 06/01/2021 08:23

Thanks 😊 it's going well so far. Two days down and managed to stick to it. Just got to keep going! I'll check out SW forum too.

I started back on Monday too, similar to you I'm 12.10 and need to get back to 11ish (probably just under it)

I am starving today 😂 the first few weeks are always the hardest I think then I'll be back in to the way of it.

I lost 3 stone two years ago so know I can do it it's just getting back to it

MrsBudd · 07/01/2021 08:27

Hi @drcindypops hope you're getting on well with it. Wednesday went well for me, still 100% on plan. Resisting urge to weigh myself until Sunday. I do feel better already though so must be doing something right 😊

McFarts · 07/01/2021 08:33

Good luck Op,

Ive been following SW for just under 12 months, 4.5 stone lighter so far, another couple of stone to go.

DrCindyPops · 07/01/2021 09:22

Going well and managed to stick 100% to plan so far. Finding not snacking at night when dd goes to bed and I have a cup of tea the hardest but hoping after a couple of weeks I'll be out that habit.

Well done @McFarts that's fab

MrsBudd · 07/01/2021 10:40

That's amazing @mcfarts!
I have taken to brushing my teeth when 3yo DS goes to bed, so nothing but water after 7pm! I'm up several times in the night with 6mo DD though so have to resist the urge to raid the fridge 😂

OP posts:
McFarts · 07/01/2021 10:49

A few weeks and as you said, you will get out of the habit of snacking, initially id have carrot stick, cherry tomatoes in the fridge and snack on them, but i soon got bored and found cold turkey easier Grin. Unless youre hungry of course, then you need to eat.

TonkinLenkicks · 07/01/2021 11:07

I really need to get on this as well! Do you know if it's suitable to do while BF? Good luck!

McFarts · 07/01/2021 11:49

Yes there is a breast feeding Mum in my group. Years ago when i first did SW there was a pregnant mum too. Join with proper SW consultant lead support though, as id assume you would need more healthy extra's or syns to account for BFing.
DrCindyPops · 07/01/2021 12:29

Agree with Mcfarts it is allowed whilst bf but would join properly with a consultant.

Am sitting here eating an omelette and all I can think of is where's the toast to go with this Grin

TonkinLenkicks · 07/01/2021 14:26

Thanks @McFarts

MrsBudd · 08/01/2021 07:46

I'm BF but my DD is six months so BF is well established. I think you can allow yourself additional healthy extras but yes probably best to talk to a consultant if you haven't done SW before.

I am down just over four pounds this week so I'm happy. Decided will weigh on Friday morning to try and keep myself motivated to carry on at the weekend. Although it's not like the weekend is much different in lockdown!!! 😫

DrCindyPops · 08/01/2021 08:12

Well done @MrsBudd 4 pounds is fantastic for a week!

Good plan re weighing on a Friday.
That's what I'm counting on, lockdown making it not feel like the weekend so I don't want to drink wine!

MrsBudd · 08/01/2021 10:31

Thank you!
Yes, absolutely. Trying to meal plan for weekend so it's SW friendly but still feels like a bit of a treat. Maybe home made burgers tomorrow and a roast on Sunday!

OP posts:
DrCindyPops · 08/01/2021 12:30

I am so looking forward to a roast on Sunday!
Home made burgers are a good idea, I'm making chilli tonight I think.

Dinners are always the hardest for me because I struggle for time during the week although I made garlic chicken using a Maggi bag last night and it was delicious, think it worked out about 2 syns!

MrsBudd · 08/01/2021 14:43

I've been trying to make use of my slow cooker where I can, recently discovered you can do jacket potatoes in there so I pop them in on high after breakfast and they are ready for lunch. Stops me being tempted by sandwiches etc as its all there waiting. Helps I'm on mat leave though.

I have found a homemade pizza recipe which used Healthy Extra B which I am hoping DH will make at some point soon! Maybe lunch tomorrow 😋

Im doing Katsu curry for dinner tonight,

ASDA turkey burgers tomorrow (1.5 syns each but less faff for a weekend...not that weekend days are that much different atm!) with SW chips and salad tomorrow. Might top the burger with bacon and mushrooms if i feel i need something more junk foody.

Sunday not sure! either a roast or possibly calzone pizza, using a weight watchers wrap as my B choice.

SeeyouontheothersideofCovid · 08/01/2021 15:27

Yes I've gone back on it too. Lost 27 lbs 2 years ago and put about half of it back on again.

Have got into the swing of it now with syns, lots of lovely low-syn recipes to try and a recipe for a low syn carrot cake (my absolute favourite). Am feeling good and after 1 week I can get back into a skirt I couldn't do up a week earlier.

MrsBudd · 08/01/2021 16:01

@mcfarts I have added the turkey burgers to my online shopping list!! Are they nice?

@seeyouontheothersideofcovid hope you have the same level of success this time round. Carrot cake sounds good! 😊

We all like them @MrsBudd, i find them less dry that homemade or the slimming world ones from iceland. I like the heck chicken burgers as well, but they dont seem to have them in any of my local supermarkets atm.
