Weighed myself and I'm just over 13 stone. Ideally want to be 11 stone. Trying to lose baby weight from DD born in July 2020 and have eaten a lot of chocolate over lockdowns! Starting SW from home today. Will use this thread for accountability! If anyone wants to join, the more the merrier 😊

Hello 👋🏼 Are you me?? 😂
I was 13 stone New Year’s Day and want to be 11 stone. Had my week 1 weigh in this morning and have lost 4lbs.

The Halo ice cream is great, only 3/4 syns per serving and it’s really nice. Reduced at Tescos atm from £5 to £2.50.

MrsBudd · 08/01/2021 18:15

Thanks @mcfarts definitely giving these a try.

Haha @onetothree how funny we are the same! Well done on your loss. Will be adding halo ice cream now too. Is a serving tiny though?!

OP posts:
OneToThree · 08/01/2021 18:24

I think the 3/4 syns is for 100ml. A whole tub is only about 360 calories. Have a google. People rave about it.

MrsBudd · 08/01/2021 18:29

Sounds amazing!

Oooh I hadn't thought to baked potatoes in the slow cooker, I'll give that a try next week when I'm working!

Have any of you made the Diet Coke chicken?

LillethCrane · 08/01/2021 18:58

Hi! I started SW this time last year and weighed 13st 9lb. At the end of November I weighed 11st 5lb. I had December ‘off’ in that I didn’t record food and had a little of what I fancied. I’ve started again today and weighed in at 11st 4.5lb.
My target is 10st, so I have a way to go, but I feel it’s possible!
I find that I barely eat any syns during the week, and then use them for wine at the weekend Grin which is probably not in the spirit of SW but it’s working for me if I consider that slowly but surely wins the race. If you want quick results, don’t drink alcohol!
I’ve genuinely never been hungry on SW, if I need a snack I have a boiled egg or a piece of fruit or some edamame beans (my favourite SW friendly snack).
Good luck!

LillethCrane · 08/01/2021 19:00

Also, can I recommend the Slimmingeats website (if it’s not been mentioned already) and the Daly Dish on Instagram. They have amazing recipes that you couldn’t imagine were SW friendly.

MrsBudd · 09/01/2021 07:49

Hi @lillethcrane, good luck with your wright loss too! I love the slimming eats site but will check out daly dish, not heard of that one.

Stayed on plan for Friday ✅ happy with that. Now to just make sure I continue over the weekend too. Hope everyone has a good weekend despite lockdown. We haven't got much planned, just a family walk somewhere locally and doing a bit of cooking in between playing with the children 😊

Stayed on plan yesterday, just had a Costa latte so that will be my syns for the day 🙈 syn free for the rest of the day for me.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

MrsBudd · 09/01/2021 16:10

That's great @drcindypops hope you enjoyed the latte! We made SW pizzas for lunch and they were actually quite nice. Jacket potatoes for tea!

Hello everyone and thanks for your well wishes, Mrs Budd.

Day 9 of back to SW and it's going great. I made a lemon cake and carrot cake yesterday, 3 syns lemon and 4 syns carrot (note good sized pieces!) - had a slice of each and put the rest, chopped, into the freezer.

We have a system that works great for us. Put a magnet writing board on the fridge and use that to record any syns. Tot up syns at the end of the day. It's a good visual prompt and also if you're competitive you can try to get fewer syns than your partner Smile

DrCindyPops · 11/01/2021 12:17

@SeeyouontheothersideofCovid that sounds like a good idea.

I'm in the unfortunate scenario though that dp is one of those people who can eat what he wants and stays slim though so I'm on my own in here!

Lost 2 and a half pounds this week, pleased with that Smile

MrsBudd · 11/01/2021 15:51

I like that idea too @seeyouontheothersideofcovid will suggest to DH!

I weighed 12 stone 9 this morning so a few pounds off after my first week. Finding it easy to stick to the plan now I've got into it. Turkey keema and rice for tea tonight!

MrsBudd · 11/01/2021 15:51

Well done @drcindypops!

SeeyouontheothersideofCovid · 12/01/2021 11:20

Well, syns wise, for our last week I had 102 and my husband had 137 (I have gone dry January so I'm saving by not having any alcohol syns).

I'm aiming for average over 7 days no more than 15 - 20 syns. This is what I did the last time and it worked very well, steady loss of about 1.5lbs a week. Slow and steady is the way to go, I think.

My first new year weigh in will take place this Friday morning. I will let you know how I get on.

MrsBudd · 15/01/2021 06:54

@seeyouontheothersideofcovid yes I think slow and steady is definitely the way to go. I guess you have to commit to long term change to diet and lifestyle. Speaking of which, I need to do some exercise really. I normally enjoy walking but the weather has been awful. Need to join in with DH doing Joe Wicks workouts in the mornings. Trouble is baby is still waking multiple times a night and up at 5 so I don't have the energy 😂

Hope weigh in goes well. Going to do mine shortly.

MrsBudd · 15/01/2021 07:05

12st 8.2 lbs so very slight loss but just realised it's only been a few days since I recorded the last weigh in (12 stone 9 lbs) so I'm happy with that 😊

OP posts:
SeeyouontheothersideofCovid · 15/01/2021 08:13

Weigh in this morning! Was 10st 5.5 lbs was gutted to be honest, especially as I look thinner and am wearing clothes a few weeks ago I wasn't. I didn't do a starting weigh in though so maybe I had stacked on more pounds over Christmas than I thought. Had been hoping for nearer 10st.

Roll on for next week's weigh in. Hope everyone else has some more cheering results Smile

DrCindyPops · 15/01/2021 08:38

Well done @MrsBudd , any loss is still a good result. It all adds up

Try not to be disappointed @SeeyouontheothersideofCovid. I always hated the weeks I was disappointed after trying really hard. I'm sure next week will be a better week Thanks

MrsBudd · 18/01/2021 06:58

Thanks @drcindypops 😊

Starting this week at 12 stone 6.8 lbs 👍🏻 hope everyone had a good weekend. I managed to get some of the turkey burgers from Asda this week, looking forward to trying. Also discovered a good SW pizza recipe. 100g SR flour, 100g fat free Greek yoghurt, sprinkle of rosemary and sea salt. That makes the base, roll it out and add homemade sauce (passata, basil, oregano, Worcester sauce, salt, pepper simmered for 20 mins) then add cheese from HEA choice and free toppings. Whole thing is about 15 syns so if you have half with salad and SW chips it feels a nice treat. I was dubious but it was lovely and DH and DS loved it!

OP posts:
DrCindyPops · 18/01/2021 07:55

Well done! I'm starting the week 12.6 pounds too so lost 2 this week Smile
Pizza sounds lovely, I do miss pizza the most I think! Will need to give it a try.
I batch made some soups yesterday for some quick lunches & am going to try some more exercise this week.
I used to love running but since I had covid in October I've not been able to run as far as I used to so fingers crossed I can build it back up a bit.

MrsBudd · 19/01/2021 06:57

That's great @drcindypops! 😊
I did some exercises with resistance bands yesterday and trying to get out for a walk each day. I've got a 3yo and a 6mo so they keep me on my toes 😂

Definitely try the pizza, it's really good. We had the turkey burgers last night with salad and couscous, very good! Planning to make a beef curry in the slow cooker for tonight. Into the third week now and it's definitely getting easier to keep to the plan!

OP posts:
MrsBudd · 22/01/2021 08:10

12 stone 4.6 this morning so I'm happy and motivated for the weekend!

OP posts:
DrCindyPops · 22/01/2021 10:59

Well done that's brilliant!
I'm feeling really motivated this week too, I had a terrible day on Wednesday and desperately wanted cake but managed to resist, that's when I know I'm in the zone!

I've done a lot less excercise than I hoped this week but I've ate decent so that's a positive, just hope the scales show that on Monday.

I've got all the ingredients to give Diet Coke chicken a go this weekend so hoping that's nice!
Got a gammon joint in the slow cooker for tonight too so feeling organised.

MrsBudd · 22/01/2021 15:05

Hope you get a good result on weigh in day! I'm weighing Monday and Fri at the moment as I find it keeps me on track for the weekend. Being organised definitely makes the dieting easier! Hope you have a good weekend 😊
